Hello Bluemooners,

Does anybody know of a way to save/offload a PM’s story? I have a story from a few years ago with 300+ posts, and I was wondering if there’s a way to save/offload the story from here. I wanted to save this story but I couldn’t find a way to move it anywhere.

Is there a way to save this story besides keeping it in my PM messages?

Thanks

As far as I am aware there is still no method of exporting conversations off-site despite this feature having been requested many times over the years I've been on the site. Manually copy the messages out by hand is pretty much your only option.

Damn. Thanks for the answer

Also, be sure not to leave the conversation if you want to keep it. As of now still no way to move left conversations back into your inbox.

Oh I’ve known that. I never regret leaving conversations. Thanks for the warning though.

Oh, damn. That was disabled. You used to be able to. Time to be extra careful. :(

You could also save the pages, not very elegant but easier than hand copy, less steps than selecting each message etc... Or, save the pages and hand copy to a nicer format at convenience.

Hm...how do you have the pages?

On a PC, it's easy: right-click on the page, and select "Save As..." (Edge), or "Save Page As..." (Firefox) - I don't have Chrome installed, but I'd imagine it'd be much the same.

With keyboard the keys are CTRL + S, I'm sure it's possible but more messy on phones.
Oh ok. I mainly use my phone for this website so that’s why I didn’t know that was an option. Thanks for the info though.

With very recent outcomes that will likely be causing changes for US internet users next year that even the site warned us about, is this something that can be looked into to be more of an option to export out conversations into some sort of even basic text file?

Heyy, so I looked into it, I don't have chrome on phone but Firefox doesn't seem to have it out of the box. An extension is probably out there to let you save pages on the spot conveniently. But really, just doing this on desktop instead is probably easiest for most people who have the option.

I’ve already saved the story. Thanks for the advice though.
