America was land of the free and home of the crazy and now that she was here straight off the boat so to say Lily was living it up. She went to all the best schools Japan had to offer and even international schools so her English was perfectly fine. At 19 she was already well traveled and spent a year at a very prestigious university in Tokyo. Her parents are not too keen on the idea of having her go abroad being a sophomore even though she can handle it they just wanna give her too much freedom and have her focus on her studies of being a doctor.

Lily begged and pleaded and eventually her family relented especially since she got into an Ivy League school in America and they couldn’t say no especially having bragging rights to a daughter not only with a high-level school in their country but also an Ivy League in America. Little did they know they were unleashing her to the world and letting her have a taste of freedom she never got to have before.

Of course she would keep up with her studies, but she was now enjoying life as a free spirit. During summer vacation her friends all talked about going to an anime convention. She was quite the nerdy one but she wouldn’t dare tell her parents her hobbies. If they knew they would’ve never let her leave the country. She made friends with like minded classmates and they were all enjoying the convention.

The week event was very fun but no them wanted to end. Some of her friends decided it was time to go back to campus since most them are not as privileged as she was. Lily could’ve easily hopped a plane or even picked a different motive transportation but the one friend she stayed back with Josh decided that hitchhiking would be more fun and it would show her more of America.

Going along with this again some of her friends warning her it was a bad idea she figured since her country is pretty safe in America seems pretty nice nothing bad could happen to them so she and Josh sit out to go hitchhike to the next destination and what Josh didn’t tell her was that knowing having a girl with him will get him picked up along with her if he was lucky but little did they know that the help they would receive would probably not let him hop in for the ride.

Lily was dressed in school uniform which made her look like she stepped out of a comic book and Josh knew that we get enough attention on the road even though he was dressed in plain clothes he figured having her would be a great distraction and maybe they could get a ride a couple of towns over to the next comic book convention. Even though they had suitcases with them it wasn’t too much of an ask for a driver but both of them might’ve been a stretch.

The air-con was whirring as He drove down the highway. Cool air blasting through the interior of his old, beat-up corolla, keeping him cool despite the harsh beaming sunlight. His set of shade's were on, keeping the sun's glare out of his gaze. His eyes were on the road, but his thoughts drifted elsewhere as the long stretch of grey-black asphalt passed beneath him.

He had tastes, perculiar, perverted tastes. The type of tastes that left him struggling with women. He could get them, sure. But they've never stick around. Instead, he'd push, push further and further until his partner's reached their breaking point. Unable to deal with his fucked up fetish's, and toxic desire for control.

If a quack-dock every peaked inside his head, they'd probably diagnose him as some sorta psychopath, sociopath, narcissist, or maybe all three. But he for a fact he'd never go to one of them. Instead choosing to waste his days away in the space between cities, pulling things apart, and putting them back together.

In any case, he wasn't thinking of the road sprawling out ahead of him. Instead his thoughts were stuck somewhere else. Instead of slowly convincing a girl to fall in love with him, slowly tricking her into falling at his feet, and dancing to his fingers. What if he simply took one. It'd have to be a kidnapping of course. But he had alot of things left over from his past that'd help him out a little. He had an isolated plot of land that wouldn't draw too many eyes. He had ropes, chains, and all sorts lingering in his garage. And, most importantly, he had the first amendment. His off-hand reaching for the gun holstered on his belt as the car continued to race along. Fingers idly curling across the cool metal as he thought of what it'd get him.

His musings, as amusing as they were were only interrupted by a sight up ahead. Out across the bare highway and yellowed grassy plains were a pair of figures. Little more than shadows at first, two little people carting what looked to be suitcases by the road-side. He shifted gear, and the car slowed. And soon enough, his eyes could make out the two hitchhikers standing by the roadside.

A girl and a guy, a normal enough pair. The man looking like every no good college nerd you'd see in the city. The girl instead dressed in what he could only describe as a private school outfit. The type of thing you'd see in a specific niche of fetish porn. Still, she looked cute enough. Even if he didn't particularly fancy her outfit.

His car slowed to a crawl as he pulled up beside them, barely above walking pace now. A press of a button letting his window slide down. Slicked hair and sun-glasses peaking too stare them down. "Hitch-hikers right? You two need a ride?" His rumbled voice calling out as he pulled up beside them.

This, this he could work with...

Josh and Lily were walking down the main stretch of road and it was pretty quiet and Josh did not mind especially since he kind of had a little thing for Lily but she really wasn’t paying how much if any attention.

“Trust me. With you just like that will get a ride quicker than you think. that’s my girl put your thumbs out like that and keep walking away or walking.” Josh was cute enough but he was quite nerdy he even have a glasses along with it and he had no chance in hell with this cute little exchange student but he could keep dreaming. Lily only saw him as a friend and here he was trying to get some alone time with her even meant hitchhiking.

“This is really cool I never thought I’d be hitchhiking at all I had no idea most Americans did this.” She told him as I walk down the street with not much on either side of them but luckily there’s a car driving in their general direction. When he got close enough it was Joshua decided to do the talking especially since it was a man that pulled over he was trying to assert his dominance which was a very strong in the first place especially with how he looked and dressed. “Thanks for stopping. My girl and I are heading north if you’re going that way we would love a ride if it’s possible.” He was trying to give off how he’s in charge but the driver could see that Lily was just watching him interact since this was completely new to her and she figured Josh knew exactly what he was doing.

“Hello. I’m Lily. We would really appreciate a ride we’re heading a couple of towns over to the next anime convention do you think you can give us a ride please?” Lily would actually speak up but Joshua try to keep her quiet and tell her to be more silent since he wanted to run the show but at least Lily was very sweet and polite even though she was quite naïve and didn’t know how this would actually work. She had no idea that was a really horrible idea but with Josh with her she figured what could possibly go wrong?

She pulled her suitcase to her side which wasn’t that big it was a nice roll-on which had a fair amount of costumes and clothing inside packed neatly. But at least now the driver would understand why she was dressed like a fetishize schoolgirl they were coming from an anime convention and going to another one.

He pulled the car up on the side of the road, blinker flickering with a dull thump in the cars interior. The engine settling down into a soft, purring rumble as it came to a stop.

With a gaze hidden by blacked out shades, the man watched silently as the pair turned too face him. The guy, a nerdy, weedly little man, barely more than a boy, and trying so hard too be something he wasn't. He could see right through his confidence, and he all but ignored her. Instead directing appraising eyes to the girl. She more cute than beautiful to be sure. But at the same time, she was a foreigner, asian, and different to his usual prey. She'd make a fun play-thing. The thought in his head as he listened to them talk.

"Well, the name's Jack." He'd respond. Not with his real name, of course, but a false lie picked out at random. Depending on how things turned out, it might prove useful. It couldn't hurt too be a little cautious considering what he had in mind. "If you're looking for a ride out these parts, you won't have much luck... But, i'm heading in that direction. I could give you a lift, but I was planning on making a few stops first..." Another lie spoken with complete confidence, his arm lounging over the drawn down window. Quietly watching the pair.

"If that's not a problem for the pair of you, I can chuck your suit-cases in the back, and I can give you both a ride. Or, you can wait for someone else, if you'd like?" He'd wait for a response, expression exuding a calm, confidence that kept everything hidden away. Knowing that once he had the pair in the car he could take them anywhere, and deal with them in whichever way he wished.

He was patient, and waiting, but if they agreed to his offer, he'd soon step out too load their things in the back, and get them seated in the cool, air-conditioned interior. Ready to head down the road.

When he pulled up to the pair Josh was the one who is trying to take charge and in a way try to make sure he look like her boyfriend. In truth he was nothing nearest that. “Let me handle this. I’ll show you how it’s done.” Josh would rattle off in Lilly’s mother tongue. Even after she introduced herself she shrugged but let Josh take the lead since he was adamant on showing that he knew what he was doing. This nerdy young man seemed very good at languages and that was probably why he was with this cute foreign exchange student trying to win her over but sadly it wasn’t working. Lily saw him as nothing more than a friend.

“That sounds perfect Jack we can even pay you for the ride. We really appreciate it and this will be a very good thing for her to learn that there are nice people out in the world. See Lilly. You were worried over nothing and don’t worry I’m here to look after you and Jack he will get us to the next convention or as close as he can take us to the next area. America is just as nice as Japan.” Josh began to spout as he fixed his glasses looking at it like Clark Kent and proud of himself for showing her how it’s done. At least this time Lily was quiet letting him run the show not because she didn’t have anything to say but she figured if she let him talk he would eventually shut up and Jack would notice how she rolled her eyes at him but then smiled sweetly at him and nodded especially since she didn’t want to make waves with her travel companion.

“We are really grateful for the help. We appreciate you stopping and if you take us as far as you can we’ll figure it out once we get there thank you so much.” Lily finally spoke out of it but Josh gave her a nudge to try and shut her up making her half an elbow him back. “ it’s called politeness you can learn something from me Josh he’s kind enough to pick us up at least say thank you.” She began lecturing the nerdy boy who didn’t like having her stand up for herself a bit since in his mind he wanted her to be this quiet little trophy girlfriend even though she was not even close to being his girlfriend.

“Thank you Jack. Don’t embarrass me in front of him just keep quiet and follow my lead.” The second part he hissed at her making Lily roll her eyes again but when Jack came out to help she gave him a nice smile and a bow which wasn’t common in this country but she was trying to show how thankful she was for him stopping.

The trunk popped with a click of his keys, and the man stepped out the side door too circle the car. He was tall and wide, arm's and torso built with muscles bulging beneath his pale white shirt. His gaze, still hidden behind the glasses, added an imposing addition to his image that breathed control and confidence.

The nerdy, sniveling weekling, josh continued to speak with a false confidence as he circled the car. But he paid little attention as he helped load their things into the back. "Don't worry about paying me. I'll be heading in that direction anyway." His words spoken without care, already way too relaxed around the pair. "I'll take you as far as i'm going. I just have to make a few stops first. After that though, I'm sure you'll find someone else with some southern hospitality too see you the rest of the way."

He could already see the cracks in the pair. Already notice that the two of them wouldn't last. It was dissapointing really, the weakling wouldn't pose a challenge, and the girl would be easy enough too deal with.

Their luggage wasn't particularly light, that was for sure. But with his rough hands and muscled built from years of stripping down rusted junkers, it was easy enough to load the small suitcases into the back of his car. With that soon sorted, he circled back around too the drivers seat. Moving without care for the increasing tension between the two. The arguments and meagre attempts at domination only serving to amuse him. Utterly uncaring as they babbled in a foreign tongue.

"Now, settle in and get your seat-belts on. It's a long road ahead of us, and as much as I appreciate the company, I don't want wany trouble on the road." With that, the car revved up with a roar, engine firing as the cylinders began to spin. His hand idly pitter pattering against the wheel as he waited for the two to hop in. Not knowing that it'd be one of the last rides they'd ever take.

With the trunk open both of them with their ride most the way now secured they didn’t even think about how dangerous this could be especially Josh since he was the big man of the group or at least he thought he was. He would open the door for Lily and try to make sure he kind of silently staked his claim over her even though she had no intentions of flirting with this guy he was just a friend even though he was trying way too hard.

“At least let us buy you food this is so much help for us.” Lily would offer as she would hop in and buckle up and Josh would make sure to sit next to her and probably put himself between the driver and his ideal girlfriend type. Joshes luggage was not that heavy but Lillys was considering how she was dressed it seemed like she was really big on whatever convention they were going to and Josh was just along for the ride for her company. Just didn’t want to put on a seatbelt but if he looked he could see Lily elbow and argue with him silently and he will put on a seatbelt because she was nagging him and because if she was telling him something he was not gonna say no which gave away that he was a bit of a pushover it came to this girl.

“So… are you on vacation or just driving around?” Lily was attempting to make conversation even though Josh was trying to discourage her from doing that especially since if she made conversation it would take the attention from him and their ride would notice the tension between them and the one-sided affection was from Josh as Lily really didn’t see him as more than just a travel buddy.

The pair of travelers hopped in the car with good cheer. His eyes peeking at the two through the central mirror. The weakling, Josh seemed half afraid and full of false macho, slipping himself into place too try and block off the girl from him. Lily, she'd said her name was, but he cared little too remember it, instead focusing on the way she shifted away from the touch and words of her traveling companion. He'd rescue her from his clutches soon enough. An unconcious smile splitting his features as the tought wormed into his brain. "Don't worry about the food. I've had plenty enough for lunch already. However, if you've got time, I'd like too show you some of sights down-road. There's a few stops on the way i'd hate for you too miss." His words coming easily as the plan formed in his mind. He'd take them off the main road, then have his fun...

Once their seatbelts were on, and their bags stashed away. The car pulled away from the road-side, gears shifting as he picked up speed, before blazing down the highway. The engine humming and the air-con blasting, filling the interior with it's cool crisp air. "Well today atleast, I'm just driving around. There's a few spots on this road I like to stop at, and a few people I help out here and there along the way." His words calm and confident, breaking the ice, half truths concealed by the sunglasses covering his gaze. "How about yourselves? You don't seem like you're from around here? You said you were heading to a convention or somethin', right?" His accent coming out as he fired out a barrage of questions. Unable to hide his curiosity. His darker intentions hidden by his warm voice. Trying to squirrel out more information from the pair as his plan developed in his mind.

The pair wouldn’t otherwise or in the back of his car as they both buckled in but Josh was focused on trying to keep Lily from being too friendly. He was very lucky especially since this young college coed was extremely friendly and quite talkative despite her male companion trying to get her to shut up. He would notice her elbow him every so often when he would whisper trying to tell her to not be too friendly. Lily was not the type to be quiet it down. If he looked in the back he would see Josh soaking as a Lily would hold the conversation.

“Sights? I would really like to see some sites I haven’t done enough traveling around America yet I’m working on it I would like to see all 50 states. So far I think I’ve been to 12 and that’s not a lot what’s your favorite state?” He could hear her getting excited when he mentioned taking them to see if you different things and Josh he could hear whisper quite loudly “You don’t wanna miss the start of the convention besides didn’t you pay to get in autograph from Nathan Fillion?” He would say as Lily would speak up and say. “It’s not a side quest Josh is just a small stop it won’t take that long right?” She would ask the driver figuring that maybe he had time constraints as well and just stopping off at a rest stop or a fun museum will not take more than maybe 20 minutes. “Well we’re both on vacation which is another couple of weeks and then we have back to school I’m out of state but it’s not that far from home it’s only a couple states away.” Josh would at least volunteer as Lily would join in to give her own information.

“International Prodigy I’m still shocked they got a full ride scholarship. I’m enjoying this and I want to see all of this beautiful country are you from around here I guess you are since you’re driving around I’m so grateful you stopped I’m really excited to talk to more natives.” Lily was young and naïve not thinking anything bad come from picking up a ride with a Stranger after all people in her country were nice so this country must be just as nice or even nicer! “We Are you going to an anime convention and it’s kind of a hobby I’m a cosplayer so I’m excited to do it in this country Japan is quite popular and I think I’m pretty good at it I’ve been getting a lot of attention here I feel like a celebrity.are you going to an anime convention and it’s kind of a hobby I’m a cosplayer so I’m excited to do it in this country Japan is quite popular and I think I’m pretty good at it I’ve been getting a lot of attention here I feel like a celebrity” she would joke but it was just the fact that she was into dressing up and from the capital of anime that made her popular.

The car continued to rumble down the highway, the aircon blasting away, and the white-striped road beneath passing in a blur. His eyes occasionally shifting to get a peak of the pair in the rear-view mirror. He was silent as the girl spoke and the boy argued. Only speaking up when questioned with an easy answer on his lips. "Not far from here. There's just a little hill down one of the side roads. Look's over the whole valley." His hand already turning the wheel to shift lanes toward the right. Eyes shifting too search for the turn-off. "If you're worried about losing time, it shouldn't take more than half an hour or so. We'll park up, get a good look, then get back on the highway." His tone loose and easy-going as he continued to drive.

His ears shifted too listen much more closely when they began to discuss themselves. Letting the girl ramble along, and the man beside her say his piece. Both from out of state, check. Both meant to be traveling for the next few weeks, check. The plan continuing to churn in his mind. This time, atleast. It felt like stealing candy from a baby.

As the girls words passed through his ears, his attention locked in within realization. She wasn't just from out of state, she was from out of the country. There'd be little and less who'd notice her missing, and no one too cause enough of a stir for a real deep search. And while he didn't know much about Anime, or cosplay, he could glean enough that'd explain her out-there outfit. "Well, I guess that makes sense. You're certainly pretty enough to be a model..." His comment matched by a white-toothed grin as the drive continued.

He turned off the highway then, car shifting as they started too pull down a side-road. Carefully laid out bitchumen soon shifting too crude gravel that left a pitter patter against the car's exterior. Rolling hills soon forming around them, and any sign of modern life fading as he took them deeper and deeper out into the sticks. The car only slowing once a pair of sunglassed eyes spot the perfect place to make two hitchhikers completely dissapear.

Neither of them suspected anything I just spent most the time trying to keep Lillys attention she kept talking to the driver and even though he didn’t like how friendly she was they were at least getting a ride to the next event even if they were gonna make a pitstop.

Lily was more forthcoming with information since she didn’t feel like this was a threat And he was going to show her something interesting on the way. She was going to see a bit of classic America and she wasn’t going to turn down this opportunity whereas Josh was a bit more skeptical but he didn’t see anything bad coming from it other than making them late for the convention and keeping him away from seeing her in something sexy.

When the driver told her she was pretty enough to be a model if he looked in the rearview mirror he could see her blush but he would also notice how Josh did not take that kind of comment and he glare into the mirror at the driver both of them are blissfully unaware of how he was taking them further and further out of civilization and Josh was the only one who has noticing anything as he looked around before he would actually say something.

“How far is this place? Not to sound and grateful but this is really a bit out-of-the-way is this a shortcut?”he would ask looking around as Lily was still blushing from the compliment. “Really? You think so?” She would ask not even noticing how far they were going and besides she had no idea how American Roads worked so for her she figured this was normal for America. That would be her downfall the only thing going for the pair was Josh was going to ask questions while Lily was too busy focusing on being complimented.

Tree's, hill-side, and shrubbery passed them as he drove further out and away from the highway. Slowly winding through country roads as he led them deeper too their doom. One hand was on the steering wheel, and the other idly leaned against his thigh, fingers ready to draw the hand-gun from it's holster at the first sign of trouble. "It's a little out of the way. But it's not far, and believe me, the view is too die for." A slight up-turn of his lips matched by the words. With only him knowing just how true that would be.

"Well, you've got beauty in spades, that's for sure." His response too lily's question. A slight up-turned smile as he laid on the charm, sunglass gaze continuing too search for the exact spot he was looking for.

When he found it, he'd make a quick turn, the car slowly creeping up the side of a hill. The view of the valley opening up as they ascended too high ground. The far-off highway spotted in the distance, occasional pin-prick cars running across it. "In any case, we're here. While I'm sure your both eager too get moving. Why don't we hop out for a minute and take a look. It's a sight you certainly won't forget." Another false, charming smile as he pulled the car up to park on the worn gravel road. The hum of the engine growing softer and softer before he parked up, pulled the hand-brake, and shut it off. His hand's then wasting little time as he pushed open the door, undoing his seat-belt to step out into the sun-shine. The warm afternoon air a stark contrast to the cool air-conditioned interior.

Lily did not have The right mindset to realize this was a bad situation she was enjoying the view and the scenery of America and she was appreciating the greenery that Tokyo did not really have. “It’s more than a little out of the way how far are we going I know she’s excited but she doesn’t really know better how much longer until we get there and see it so we can get back on the road I hate to be that kind of person but we do have places to be…”Josh was being a little snarky whereas Lily was just focusing on looking outside.

When he complimented her beauty it only made Lily blush more as she waved her hand playfully to try and tell him to stop complementing her even though she really loved it. Josh was not liking the little flirting and he shot him I’d look that could kill. Little did he know that he might be the one that would be killed and not with his looks. Josh was trying to see where he was talking to him look like the middle of nowhere and he did not like that at all but Lily was not in panic mode at all. “Hopefully this will be a very quick pitstop hurry up Lily.” Josh is trying to get her to move a bit quicker elbowing her lightly.

Lily was quite the easy target as she easily would get out and not even think about the danger whereas Josh was more skeptical but he would make sure to stand very close to Lily and keep by her side since that was apparently his girl even though she didn’t know it yet. Josh was the only one who looked a bit suspicious but Lily was none the wiser is Josh looked around trying to figure out what he meant Lily was taking pictures of the beautiful scenery not caring about what they were supposed to see.

“What did you want to show us up here?” He would ask as Lily kept taking pictures making memories that she would never get to share.

The sun was warm on his face as he stepped out of the car. The afternoon rays washing over the surounding valley, casting light across it all. From the road stretching across, the small towns and farmsteads, and even the dusty, yellow-grass landscape. It was a beautiful sight, and he let things settle in silence, giving the pair a chance to enjoy the view. Already knowing that for the pair both, it'd be the last taste of freedom they'd ever have.

When Josh asked his question, he already had the response ready on his lips. "Well, I wanted to show you something beautiful. A view of the world from the place few choose to tread. A last little send-off before things turn sour." And with that, his hand reached down to his hip. A single moment, and his gun was drawn. The silvered steel of the handgun catching in the sun-light, a warning to the pair, and a threat. "Down, both of you! Get on your knees and put your hands behind your head. Now!" His voice shifting tune, low drawl shifting to a harsh, commanding bark. His words echoed by a flick of his safety, and a pull of the trigger. The bullet slamming into the ground, echoing like thunder, and kicking up a thin layer of dust that clouded the hill-top.

There was no humanity on his face as he stared down at the pair. Reflected, dark sunglasses revealing nothing. His expression hardened, and uninviting. His warning was clear, they'd do as he says, or the pair of them would die on the hill, and never see the sun again.
