TLDR: Starter about a dog-man or fox-man, something. Fun for Halloween.
Halloween. The best time of year when you're young. At least, that's what I've always thought. You get to eat lots of sugar, dress up, and partake in mischievous, against-the-rules activities, like staying out all night. That's what Y/N always thought, too, of course. Plus, Halloween always stood out to them as a fundamental chunk of their childhood. One, specifically, really stood out to them.
Y/N was around 9. Dressed as a werewolf, they tore up the town with their pillowcase by their side. It was a wonderful time, having gone across the entire town and back in the one night - granted, the town was pretty small. Which, ironically, was what made that Halloween so unique - about two houses into trick or treating, another child who seemed to have a similar idea, dressing as beast of similar caliper, had complimented their costume. And so, for the rest of that night, the two crossed the town. What they remembered most was his costume, which was absolutely stellar, and his name - Oliver.
...But now, looking back, Y/N never knew an Oliver in the neighborhood. Heck, they didn't even know an Oliver growing up, or even an Oliver in town. And sometimes, you had asked people, and nobody seemed to.That begged the question - just where had he come from? The answer was, unfortunately, not clear.
Graduating high school. Most people didn't really go trick or treating by high school, sadly. It was a good age to go to parties, watch scary movies, the works. And fortunately, Y/N had plans themself, preparing to go to a party that was going to be a ton of fun. The crisp air was nostalgic as they stepped out, still early into the Halloween evening. The very young kids and parents were the only ones out just yet. 'Donning what Y/N assumed might be their last Halloween costume ever, and getting ready to go. It was a werewolf costume, which wasn't quite as 'genuine' as when they were a kid. Nowadays, it didn't seem people wanted to be convincing, it was just for fun.
Walking down the block, they had to pass the one creepy house in the neighborhood, which didn't seem to ever have life inside. The lawn was a bit sparse, the curtains were always drawn. No lights were ever seen turned on inside - not by Y/N. Though, someone was standing out in front of the house, staring at it with a pillowcase held by his side - a… boy. He was pretty old to trick or treat. Despite it, his costume was… amazing. And familiar.
"...That house never gives out candy, just so you know."
Y/N responded, getting just a bit closer. That costume looked… very similar to the one from when they were little. Much like… Oliver's…
"...Oh! I didn't know. I, uh… hadn't tried it yet."
"...I'm surprised you're even trying to trick or treat. Would you rather come to a costume party? You can come with me, I get a plus one."
"...You mean it? That's really kind, I appreciate the offer. My name is Oliver."
It was him, again. Another convincing costume, another Halloween night… and, eerily enough, the shut-in house down the road. What was the pattern here…?
That's the starter! If you have any questions or are interested, send me a message! I am fine with SFW and otherwise. For context, the characters are both 18/19 and are going to a costume party. This will probably be romance heavy.
