Current status: Open to one more!

Welcome to my little nook of the internet! Now that I’ve had a look around for a couple days and learned where the water fountains and bathrooms are, I thought it was time to put one of these out.

I’ve recently jumped back into the forum-based RPG world after a lengthy hiatus after I decided that I needed a creative outlet back in my life. Because real life is hectic, I am trying to ease myself back in and not commit to too many posts so that my writing partners aren’t left waiting too long for me.

A few quick things about my writing and co-writing style:
  • I am big on OOC communication before and during the lifespan of a plot. I like to make sure our styles and expectations mesh and that we feel transparent in chatting if we feel like the story is getting stuck or something isn’t working.
  • I prefer well-thought out writing and responses, which seems to be more the norm here. Energy should match energy. I’m not the type of person to have a word count minimum, but I want to feel that if I’ve put in thought and effort into a post, my writing partner has done the same. Sometimes that means lengthier posts, and sometimes that means a paragraph to move the plot along. It’s not uncommon for my first few posts in a new thread to be longer because I’m setting up a character, and then they trickle down to several paragraphs.
  • I’m a story first, sex second, slice of life kind of writer. If you’re looking for a quick smut fix, I’m definitely not your girl. I prefer to focus on the storytelling and relationship building and to let the characters organically make their way into each other’s beds. Or couches. Tents? Fill in the blank. I do love a good romance trope.
  • I play female main characters only, but will play male secondary characters when they’re necessary to the plot or rounding out the story, but not the focus of the relationship. You don’t want me trying to write a sex scene from a man’s perspective.
  • Real life takes priority. I’m a single mom trying to keep other humans alive, but need something for me that makes my heart happy. Writing with other people does that. I am being cautious about not taking on too many posts so people aren’t waiting, but there may be times where it takes me a few days to knock out a response. If I feel like there will be a bigger disruption, I will definitely communicate. What I won’t do is just disappear without a word. If I genuinely feel like I have to stop or walk away, I will communicate that.
  • For now, I’d like to stick to the forums for IC.
  • I do have an F-List below, check it out! Note: My F-List just hits the basics. I spent a chunk of time creating one only to lose it all, and didn't have it in me to redo it that extensively again.

Plot Ideas:

The fun (I hope?) part. I’m starting with a few less complicated plot ideas while I get back into swing of things. If any of these stand out, send me a PM and we’ll chat and see if we are a good writing match!

Note: This is my favorite romance trope. Ever. EVER. So, I had to build a plot idea around it.
Basic Plot: MC and YC are competitors in their professional life (Chefs of opposing restaurants? Book store owners around the corner? Teachers with opposing priorities? Let's figure it out!) While they grumble at each other in real life, they are also confiding in each other via letters. (Yes, still a thing!) Having connected through a pen pal website, the two have exchanged letters for over a year discussing books and life, developing an anonymous friendship under pseudonyms.

Basic Plot: MC is a travel photographer who is on a two week trip with her childhood friends for a wedding at an old estate in England’s countryside. The family of the estate still holds a noble title, but the brother (YC) and sister who are in charge of the estate had to open it as a boutique bed and breakfast/hotel experience to try to keep up with the high costs of managing the estate. Land rich, money…well, not poor, but big estates are expensive. While the sister is all in on this hotel idea, YC is an unwilling participant with their family home now being open to strangers and isn’t the most gracious of hosts. While MC balances work with play, she and YC bump into each other, much to YC’s disdain/frustration… and much to MC’s curiosity.
