Allan tried to shift the weight in his backpack but to no avail. The heavy bag just wouldn't cooperate. He let out a loud sigh as he walked up the path to the front of the boarding school. One of the most successful places to train to days youth with special talents for the betterment of mankind. The t.v. commercials hype was lost on him. He had gotten along fine with his powers until a month ago. Now here he was, new school, new state, no friends, no family and the first week of classes had finished. Which meant he would have home work coming out his ass.

The campus was large, nice and full of other students, who for the moment had seamed to ignore him. Which was just as well, he needed to find the admissions office and get settled in. The halls appeared to be empty for a moment; another blessing. Allan wasn't afraid of people, he just wanted to settle in this new surrounding first. After walking around for several minutes, he found his way to the right office. Letting out a long sigh, he rapped lightly on the solid oak door.

Quinn, a student at the school, was working in the office when the new student arrived. When she didn't have much school work to do, which was hardly ever as she was a very studious girl, she spent her free period volunteering in the office. The students were required to do a community service of some kind, of campus or off, and Quinn had elected filing since the admin office was one of the few that could support her massive wing span.

Quinn walked to the doors, some files still in her arms, and opened it to greet whoever was on the other side. By the look of the backpack slung over his shoulder, she could tell it was the new student they were waiting for.

"Hello, welcome. Come in and have a seat. The professor will be with you shortly..." She said, showing him to some chairs. She knocked on yet another door, where the professor's office was, to let him know that the new student arrived. She closed the door, and turned to go back to her filing, smiling at Allan as she walked past.

Allan let the bag rest on the floor as he sunk into one of the nearby chairs. His sea blue eyes watched Quinn as she went about her work. He had some encounters with other metas before, but none of them had actual wings. He found himself wondering if they worked; and also wondering if they were a soft as they looked. Shaking the stray thought aside, he suddenly realized he hadn't introduced himself yet.

"I'm Allan. Guess you can tell huh? Not to many people coming in this late is there?" He said, rubbing his hand nervously. His face still held the softness of youth but his body was more toned for a boy his age. While his paper work read 16, the rest of him looked closer to 20. His cloths marked him as middle class, but his eyes said that he knew the underside of life all to well.

"What's the professor really like? You watch the videos but you know things can't be that good." He added, trying to make small talk with the pretty lady in the waiting room with him.
