"I do not care what comes after; I have seen the dragons on the wind of morning."
― Ursula K. Le Guin,
The Farthest Shore

hello hello, and welcome to my original request thread! I'll try to keep it short and to the point <3

❧ π–†π–‡π–”π–šπ–™ π–’π–Š!
  • the name's acheroniann -- feel free to call me whatever variation of that or nickname for it you want. I'm a female, 21+, and I'm alright with mature themes (be they generally dark/heavy themes, violence/gore, or smut).
  • I'd consider myself an advanced literate writer, and I've been roleplaying for almost ten years now! I can write anywhere from 2 paragraphs/200 words to 20+ paras/2000+ words; although I love novella-style posts, I'm more than happy to keep it shorter or at some happy medium of 5-10 paras/500-1000 words. generally I'll settle into whatever the moment calls for, and the only thing I won't write or write with are one-liners and replies under 1 paragraph/100 words. sorry!
  • I prefer to write heterosexual, female characters against male characters! I'm more than happy to write a plethora of side characters/npcs, male or female, to help populate the world we come up with!
  • speaking of worlds, I loooove to world-build and plot! I also have a tendency to fangirl over our characters and story and make pinterest boards, playlists, memes, occasionally art... etc. :'3
  • ooc-wise, I'd consider myself a bit on the chatty side! I won't pry about your personal life, but I do like to make sure we're on the same page when it comes to our story and I like to keep in touch and let you know when I won't be able to reply as planned.

❧ π–†π–‡π–”π–šπ–™ π–žπ–”π–š!
  • please be comfortable with mature themes! and please feel free to share any triggers beforehand, but I will preface this by saying I enjoy writings stories that deal with heavy themes (at times and in moderation!) like wars/battles/fighting, death/gore/violence, complex emotions/depression/insanity, sex/sexual attraction, and occasionally topics in characters' pasts like [sexual] assault/abuse, abusive relationships, death/loss, and suicide. I can and will avoid going into gratuitous detail about the last things usually, but I prefer to address these topics realistically and maturely in stories, when they arise.
  • please be able and willing to write multi-paragraph posts! novella style isn't required lol, but I will ask that you be able to write more than a single paragraph as I tend to lose my creative spark otherwise :'3
  • please feel comfortable writing a male main character! idc if you're male or female irl (though I do have a preference for writing with other women lol! <3), so long as you're willing to write a male oc against my female! it'd be preferred that you're comfortable writing npcs as well, when applicable!
  • please be willing to participate in plotting and world-building! I won't make you do everything on your own, nor would I like to do everything myself! something I love about writing a story together is the collaboration and the sharing of brilliant ideas <3
  • please be comfortable with ooc chatter! more in the sense of being cool with my ooc chatter than being chatty yourself, if that's not your vibe x3 (though if you do love to fangirl/fanboy over a good story and ship... yay!! <3 <3 <3)

*disclaimer... despite the term "isekai" and the classic "modern character transported to fantasy world" trope, I'm not looking for anything anime or anime-inspired (I don't really know anything about anime or isekai anime lolol, just borrowing the term). think more game of thrones/house of the dragon, lord of the rings/the hobbit kind of fantasy <3

tl;dr:
a modern woman finds herself transported to a magical fantasy world where she's believed to be one half of a prophesied pair, believed to bring an end to a decades-(centuries?)-long war -- with the help of her prophetic counterpart and a dragon, long believed to be dead. what happens when the dragon's alive and her counterpart is closer than she thought? and what happens when she finds out the local royals have been using her for political propaganda and are set on killing her counterpart?

characters:
mc is a modern woman from our own world, but via some ✨magic✨, she finds herself transported to a fantasy world (of our creation!). she's excited to find herself in a whole new, fantastical world like she's always dreamed of, welcomed by the local royalty... but it doesn't come without its own obstacles and complications. like being asked to take up the mantle of hero based off some vague prophecy and tame a dragon...? I mean, she'll do it, but whose idea was this?

when it comes to yc, I had two potential ideas based on two potential plot directions!
first option: yc is a slave fighter in the royal/imperial/etc. arena. mc sees him in a fight and finds it an unethical sport, demanding yc's release; irked but not wanting a scene, the reigning royal figure declares yc is now mc's personal servant. later on, it's discovered he's the second legendary figure in the prophecy, originally believed to be from the other side of the war. (this option and the first plot direction are currently my preferred, but I am willing to go the other route!)
second option: yc is a member of the royal family or a highly decorated knight/guard of the royal family, recently-rebelled against said royalty; rather than mc showing up in the capital, she finds herself in the wilderness, where an on-the-run yc runs into her. later on, it's discovered he's the second legendary figure in the prophecy, originally believed to be from the other side of the war.
* third option: suggest your own ideas! I will be picky about this, but if neither idea calls to you and you really have a great idea for a different take on yc, please feel free to share! worst I can do is say no <3

plot(s):
now I know these are kind of long summaries ahaha; while I do have ideas, I'm certainly not opposed to hearing any ideas or changes you may have to suggest! I LOVE to collaborate on stories, so even though these plots may seem thought-out already, I'm always more than happy to discuss and come up with something together <3 <3

first option (preferred!): mc, via some ooc-discussed magical means, finds herself transported to a fantasy world (of our creation). appearing in/around the capital city of the kingdom/empire she just so happened to be transported to, she's quickly found and brought before the reigning royalty. upon describing what she went through, the royal(s) realize the similarities between her appearance, happenings in an enemy kingdom/empire, and an ancient prophecy, speaking of two mysterious heroes rising, one from each kingdom/empire. desperate for a political pawn to promote their own power and rule in a time when tensions are high and war is draining resources, the royal(s) claim mc is their kingdom's/empire's prophesied hero. hoping to incite the favor of their public, they inform mc that her coming was foretold, and it's said she'll be able to tame and ride an powerful beast from their ancient history -- a dragon.
in the meantime, while promoting their kingdom's/empire's new hero, the royal(s) take her to one of their favorite shows -- an arena fight between slaves/prisoners of war and exotic beasts. enter yc: an enslaved warrior, either from the neighboring enemy kingdom/empire or some other civilization conquered in previous wars. mc, uncomfortable with the cruelty and brutality of the arena, demands the fight be stopped and yc be spared from such spectacles. the royal(s), irked with her disapproval but not wanting to make a scene with their new political pawn, appease her by agreeing to release yc from the arena. satisfied for the time being, what mc doesn't expect is to return to the palace and find yc has been delivered to her rooms as her new personal servant. surprised but wanting to help yc as best she can, she earns his respect for her moral compass and determination and gains a loyal companion.
together, the two (and perhaps some other royalty-supplied companions) set out to the last known home of the last known dragon, a cave in mountains to the west of the kingdom/empire; the royalty don't plan on mc/yc to be coming back, as the dragon is believed to be long-dead and the path is perilous (and perhaps they've planned a betrayal?). in the meantime, they plan to use the momentum from her arrival and existence to secure a victory over their enemy, who has not found their own legendary hero. (spoiler alert -- it's yc!! how this comes to be is open to discussion, depending on your preferences for yc.)
instead, when mc/yc arrive at the dragon's home (against all odds), they find the beast (or one of its descendants?) is indeed still alive -- and, miraculously, mc is able to gain its allegiance. oblivious to the schemes of the royal(s), mc/yc return to the capital with their new draconic companion, much to the shock of the royal(s) and the elation of the people. utilizing their newfound weapon, the royal(s) send mc/yc and the dragon to the front lines... only for mc's hesitations about the whole war to be tested as she sees the "enemy" for herself and begins to hear more than one side of the story. while this happens, the royal(s) who originally found her are out for her head... and the head of their enemy's prophesied hero.

second option: similarly to the first, mc is magically transported to a fantasy world. rather than ending up in the capital however, she finds herself out in the countryside/wilderness of the kingdom/empire, where she runs into yc -- a runaway royal or royal knight/guard, disillusioned with the royal(s) and their war. going under a false name and maybe attempting to find others looking to rebel against the reigning power, he recognizes how mc's arrival might be used by the royal(s) and offers to let her travel with him/attempt to get her back to her own world in an effort to hide her. unfortunately, word travels of a stranger from an unknown land -- maybe mc does something worth storytelling, like tackling a challenge only someone ignorant of that world would tackle, or displaying some sort of "power" (magic or just modern knowledge maybe?). in any case, the royal(s) want to have her brought to the capital, and offer a reward for her delivery to them (while maybe sending out their own soldiers to catch her as well).
despite yc's efforts, mc is caught and taken back to the capital along with yc. separated from yc, mc is told by the royal(s) that she's their kingdom's/empire's hero as foretold in an ancient prophecy and has the power to tame a dragon and ride it into battle. uncertain, mc seeks out yc in the dungeons and demands he tell her the truth; realizing that if she fails to cooperate with the royal(s) she's probably be killed and more people will die in the war, she plays along with the royal(s) until she's eventually sent off to go find the dragon. using the opportunity to break yc out of the dungeons, the two flee the capital and head back out into the countryside/wilderness.
mc, unconvinced that the royal(s) were completely lying, suggests they try to find the dragon themselves; yc can be willing or not, but one way or another he's convinced to help her find the dragon (assuming one's still alive), in the hopes that doing so could bring an end to the war and stop the royal(s) and their corrupt reign. upon venturing to the dragon's home, they find the beast (or one of its descendants) is still alive and mc is able to gain its trust and allegiance. traveling with the dragon to the "enemy" kingdom/empire, mc and yc attempt to find out the truth about the war and put it to an end once and for all. along the way, they make a surprising discovery -- the other nation's missing prophesied hero is none other than yc! (how this comes to be is open to discussion, depending on your preferences for yc.
characters:
mc is a woman who was cursed long ago to protect the kingdom from the creatures/monsters/beasts who live underground, beneath an impressive mountain range. as companions she has a small group of dragons who call the centermost peak of the range their home.

yc is a man tasked to kill the "dragon witch" (and maybe one or more of her dragons as well). whether he's a royal, a bounty hunter/adventurer, a knight/warrior, etc. is up to discussion!

plot:
centuries ago, mc was cursed to live within the reaches of an ancient mountain range, utilizing its local dragon swarm to help her protect the kingdom from the monsters who live beneath the mountains. it's a thankless job, as most of the kingdom is ignorant to the terrors living beneath the mountains; instead it's the "dragon witch" and her dragon "swarm" who are regarded as the beasts, villainized by tales twisted and swept out of proportion.
in recent decades however, the underground has been less active, and thus the dragons and their mysterious rider have been absent. becoming more legends than an active threat, it's a shock when a dragon and rider are spotted one evening, in an area where a few new towns have sprung up; the king, recently-crowned, wants to secure his reign and gain the people's favor, so he sends yc to kill the dragon witch and her mount in the name of the crown.
unbeknownst to the king and kingdom, the underground has been plotting a return and has begun sending growing numbers of scouts and attack parties out from beneath the mountains. when yc arrives at the mountain range, he finds himself attacked in the knight by a band of monsters -- before he can be overcome, mc flies in with a draconic companion or two and kills the monsters, saving yc's life. confused by these events, yc demands an explanation. likewise confused by his request but intrigued by the idea of clearing her name, mc allows him to come back with her to the centermost peak of the mountain range, where she and the dragons make their home.

maybe yc not only helps mc clear her name, but they find a way to break her curse as well? what all does her curse entail, you ask? idk!! never really made up my mind lol. would love to chat about it and come up with something!! <3
