First, I want to thank all of you who reached out and told me they registered specifically due to this post. It means a great deal to me, and it is those moments that make up for the stress of running this place. Registration deadlines are rapidly approaching for a number of states, and I hope to reach some of those people who still have yet to register while there is still time to do so.
I would like to ask every US Citizen to check their voter registration, and ensure they can vote in November. Encourage your American friends to check their registration and do so if they have not.
If you have some spare time, I would ask you consider signing up for Election Protection or signing up as a poll worker.
Each election there are a few races that come down to a literal handful of votes.
Sometimes even a single vote.
Anyone who tells you your vote does not or will not make a difference is lying to you.
Every time I do something like this, at least one person bitches.
To get ahead of that, I have this to say:
If you are the sort of person who sees a call to democratic action as an affront,
You are a weirdo.
Obviously, the former president's policy plan if he is reelected is a concern to us.
Whatever his apologists may claim, until he presents an alternate policy, the former president's own statements and past performance tell us he has every intention of seeing 'Project 2025' enacted.
Every question on specific policies listed, he has either stated he will do, or refused to answer.
Emphasis mine.
Just to highlight the proud tradition of redefining words and drawing equivalences to suit their tastes, presenting a reality ever-more divorced from our own.
The Heritage Foundation tends to get at least 3/5ths of its desired policies adopted when they have a friendly administration. Even if an attempted porn ban fails, there are other provisions and potential laws that would make it unconscionable for me to continue running this forum. 'Project 2025' is a threat which cannot be ignored.
Obviously, if this ends up looking like it will come to pass, we will need to have a plan.
We are of course far from alone in this.
Any policy built on a different conception of reality is going to have a lot of weirdness to answer for.
For now, the best solution is prevention.
I encourage every United States citizen to vote accordingly.
Thank you.

Mandate for Leadership: the Conservative Promise 2025 - Page 5 said:Pornography, manifested today in the omnipresent propagation of transgender ideology and sexualization of children, for instance, is not a political Gordian knot inextricably binding up disparate claims about free speech, property rights, sexual liberation, and child welfare. It has no claim to First Amendment protection. Its purveyors are child predators and misogynistic exploiters of women. Their product is as addictive as any illicit drug and as psychologically destructive as any crime. Pornography should be outlawed. The people who produce and distribute it should be imprisoned. Educators and public librarians who purvey it should be classed as registered sex offenders. And telecommunications and technology firms that facilitate its spread should be shuttered.
Emphasis mine.
