「Council of Cyril」Small Group Roleplay Idea

Looking for a small group of people to roleplay a specific idea with. In broad strokes, Cyril is a futuristic high magic world ruled by the Council of Cyril. The Council is a collection of people who are so powerful that a fight between any two of them would cause wanton destruction to the world that would be undesirable to the others, thus they formed the council to mediate any disputes and to work together toward common goals.

I did call it a high magic world for a reason however. It doesn't just mean it is a world where magitech is ubiquitous, though there is that too. It is deeper than that though. Essentially the magic of the world is so potent that everyone is born with innate magic. At the lowest rank, Iron rank, that doesn't mean much besides possessing an aura, the ability to control it, and the ability to sense other peoples auras. By Bronze rank, people begin to develop a unique supernatural ability, though this is still rare, and become more physically capable, with a slightly extended lifespan. Those able to make it to Silver Rank typically have unlocked their unique ability and have begun to master it, as well as their supernatural physical abilities and more magical nature. Life expectancy stretches out into a few hundred years. Gold rank is considered the pique of mortal potential. A person can live for over a thousand years, their healing and the magical nature of their bodies means they can recover from nearly any injury, and their powers are truly devastating. The Council however have gone beyond and achieved Diamond rank. Ageless and truly immortal, their powers can level cities and destroy nations, with supernatural physical capabilities that dwarf even the heroic Silvers and the demi-god like powers of the Golds.

Besides the innate power that they possess however, the denizens of Cyril also have proper spellcraft and enchantment that they use to keep their civilization running.

So essentially I am looking for like-minded people who want to play godlike beings with supernatural powers and access to powerful magics. It could be a slice of life roleplay where we play out their relationships with each other, we could provide them with an adversary to compete with, or could even base the roleplay around the ascendance of another Diamond ranker who the Council has to determine whether they are friend or foe and deal with them accordingly.

I was thinking about something similar to this myself the other day! Kind of like a more cynical justice league, where Superman and Wonder Woman, (just as an example), don't sit at the council table because they necessarily have the same goals, but because fighting each other would do neither of them any favors. The codified ranking system you outlined is very shonen-esque, and I love it! The hierarchy of this world sounds like it is determined through the strength and power of individuals, as expecting a person with more mundane abilities to enforce laws and rules on someone of silver and gold rank would be catastrophic. Why would a silver level criminal sit through a trial unless there was a gold or even a diamond present to ensure they sit still and play nice? It also seems like conventional militaries would be useless, and any wars of the past would have been fought between these demigods rather than large forces of soldiers. Reminds me of the alternate history WWII comic book series Uber, where super human soldiers are deployed like battleships, changing the strategies and tactics of the war considerably, some of them even dismantling the status quo of their own governments by virtue of being unstoppable.

What I'd like to know is, what degree of sexual content are you looking to include in this role play? Are there any kinks related to diamond level powers that you'd like to implement? You mentioned slice-of-life, which begs the image of the diamonds living together in a sort of ivory tower institution like a bunch of twenty-something roommates, with crushes and relationships and drama, which is a cute juxtaposition to their god-like powers.

That is more or less what I was thinking, yeah. Some sort of fighting force would be necessary because the heightened magic also means more powerful Monsters, in this world Monsters manifest out of raw magic at a specific rank depending on the type of monster. So a Goblin might be an Iron rank monster, and a Dragon a Gold rank monster, so on and so forth. Not all would be immediately hostile but all monsters eventually break down back into mana and going into a berserk stage at which point they either need to be slain or are far enough away for civilization that they can be left to break down back into mana.

As for what degree of sexual content, that will depend on what we all want. As far as being Diamond rank and kinks related to that, the righer rank a person is the more control they have over their aura and the more aware they become of the nature of magic and the like, so Gold and Diamond rankers are able to stimulate each other with their aura. Besides that, it will depend on what sort of powers our characters have. I do imagine that certain powers might require the user to crush the aura of the person they are fighting, so our characters might have a slight immunity to the direct use of their powers on each other, as would be the case of people of similar rank among the other ranks.

As far as it being a slice of life roleplay, I just meant that we don't necessarily need an overarching story if we don't want. Otherwise we could come up with something. Maybe some sort of new threat or something that requires the Council to convene. All depends on what we'd like to do.

Fun Fact: On Cyril, nobody poops. Being innately magical beings, the only sustenance they require is the innate magic in the food stuffs they produce, their bodies able to perfectly break down everything that is not magical in what they eat.

Count me in. I’m leaning on the idea of the council needing to weed out the new Diamond Rank as friend or foe. I will also like to play as this new Diamond a Rank. He will be the least experienced and newest threat to the group which can add some great tension and even better character growth depending on which path we take with him.

Also. If Diamond Ranks elope are their children also considered Diamond Rank or is it completely random?
