Biography
Kanazaki Takuto was born in Kagoshima, a region known for its rich history and traditional values. He was raised in a family of renowned metalworkers, who had been artisans for generations, specializing in creating intricate gold jewelry and wares. The Kanazaki family was well-respected in the community, known not only for their craftsmanship but also for their adherence to traditional Japanese values. From a young age, Takuto showed an innate talent for metalwork, spending hours in his family's workshop, fascinated by the process of turning raw materials into beautiful creations. His parents had high hopes for him, expecting him to one day take over the family business and continue the legacy of excellence.
Takuto's Quirk, Aurum Control, manifested when he was seven years old. At first, it seemed like a blessing—an extension of his family's craft. However, the Quirk was powerful and difficult to control, especially for a child. One day, while playing with a close friend in the workshop, Takuto accidentally triggered his Quirk. Without meaning to, he turned his friend into a gold statue. The incident was a disaster. Takuto was horrified by what he had done, and his parents were devastated. The event sent shockwaves through the community, tarnishing the once-pristine Kanazaki name. Despite their best efforts, they couldn't reverse the transmutation, and the statue stood as a painful reminder of the incident. This event haunted Takuto for years. He became withdrawn, plagued by guilt and fear of his own abilities. The Kanazaki family's reputation suffered greatly, and they became reclusive, avoiding the public eye as much as possible. Takuto's parents, once proud of their lineage, were now burdened with the shame of the tragedy.
As Takuto grew older, he resolved to master his Quirk and restore his family's honor. He believed that by becoming a hero, he could bring dignity back to the Kanazaki name. However, the path was not easy. His Quirk was still unpredictable, and he had to work twice as hard as others to control it. Takuto sought out specialized training, focusing not only on harnessing his Quirk but also on the mental discipline needed to prevent another accident. He trained in solitude, often pushing himself to the brink of exhaustion. His determination was fueled by the memory of his friend, whom he had accidentally turned into gold, and the desire to make amends for the irreversible mistake.
Takuto's hard work eventually paid off when he was accepted into a prestigious the prestigious Shoryu High Academy. However, even there, he faced challenges. His peers and teachers were wary of his Quirk, and he struggled with the stigma attached to his family's name. Despite this, Takuto remained steadfast, determined to prove that he could be a hero. Over time, Takuto became known for his precision and skill, both as a craftsman and as a hero-in-training. He was meticulous in battle, always aware of the potential danger his Quirk posed. He developed a reputation for being serious and focused, often forgoing social interactions to dedicate more time to his training. This led some to see him as cold or distant, but those who got to know him understood the burden he carried.
Now, as a rising hero, Kanazaki Takuto (Midas) is known for his meticulous approach to heroism and his unyielding dedication. He has slowly begun to rebuild his family's reputation, though he knows the road to complete redemption is long. He continues to push himself, both as a hero and as an artisan, striving to bring honor back to the Kanazaki name. Takuto's ultimate goal is to become a top hero, not just for personal glory, but to show the world that even the most tragic mistakes can be overcome. He wants to inspire others to never give up, no matter how heavy the burden of their past might be. While he knows he can never undo what happened, he hopes that through his actions as a hero, he can bring some measure of peace to his family and to himself.
Personality
Kanazaki is a disciplined and determined individual, often thinking of the bigger picture and the legacy they want to leave behind. He has a deep respect for tradition and are always looking for ways to blend the old with the new. Though he can be serious, Kanazaki has a warm heart and are always willing to lend a hand, especially when it comes to helping others refine their skills.
Quirk
Aurum Control allows Kanazaki to manipulate and generate gold. This includes shaping gold into weapons, shields, or even intricate designs. They can also transmute other metals into gold temporarily. The gold he can produce is incredibly durable, though it has a limit on the amount they can create at one time. The more gold Kanazaki generates or manipulates, the more strain it puts on his body, requiring him to conserve his energy during extended battles.
Ultra Analysis
Kanazaki finds himself among the upper echelon of the heroing world, comparable to the Tokyo Metropolitan Heroes and Greater Kanto Region Heroes such as Endeavor and Hawks.
*Ultra Analysis Scale
S-Tier (Legends): Essentially those exceptional Heroes & Villains of the world who can either single handedly take on a top ten hero ranking by themselves or pose a national danger. Such examples include, All For One, Stars & Stripes, Gigantomachia, & One For All.
A-Tier (High Pro Heroes): The peak of Heroes & Villains that typically occupy the top three popularity polls to go above and beyond in terms of their strength, speed, endurance, and quirk ability. Endeavor, Hawks, Best Jeanist, & Mirko are heroes who exemplify this. Meanwhile Villains such as Dabi, Twice, Overhaul & Re-Destro are prime villain parallels.
B-Tier (High-End Nomu): A weird and nebulous spot. A hero who typically ranges in the ranks of 5 to 10. They are certainly better than your average than your Pro Hero but given the chance can press even the strongest heroes and villains. Heroes include Crust, Eraser, Kamui Woods, Mt. Lady, & Edgeshot. Villains such as Muscular, Spinner, & Stain occupy this region as well.
C-Tier (Big Three): A tier reserved for heroes that are definitely stronger than your typical hero on the street. However, it is clear that with more time they can easily become a greater threat. Heroes such as UA's Big Three reside in this list alongside heroes like Ectoplasm & Snipe. Not many villains actually make it into this tier.
D-Tier (Pro Hero): The vast bulk of professional trained heroes and adept villains exist here and the most common tier for individuals who have honed their quirk for years. Heroes like Manual, Sir Nighteye, Fatgum, and many UA staff reside in here. Villains like Mage, Moonfish, and Mr. Compress claim this tier as their home as well.
E-Tier (UA Student): A tier the best of the best of UA resides here. The third most amount of quirk wielders reside here, having professional training and qualifications for honing their quirks.
F-Tier (Typical Quirk User): A quirk user who has trained it enough to use it in their day to day lives, but nothing beyond something that is a more typical kind of profession from construction to accounting. Typically sees the quirk as a neat thing they can do, but not the potential it can have. Most quirk users exist in this tier.
G-Tier (Non-Quirk Users): The unfortunate 15% of society that is not encoded with a possible Quirk. Though that doesn't mean they cannot be formidable opponents if given the right circumstances.
