1. Just to be safe: This is a dystopia and should be treated as such. I doubt anyone does, but if you, dear reader, happen to think a world, where the Nazis won would be kinda neat or "not that bad", please move along. 2. I put this thread in the non-sexual category for a reason. While there's certainly room for romance and explicit, maybe even gratuitous sex-scenes, I'd like to focus more on plot and characters. Yes, evil guys in uniform are hot, but if that's your main motivation, we're probably not a good match. 3. Given the subject matter, the stories will probably be rather dark and maybe not "fun" in the classical sense (though there is certainly space for some cathartic nazi-kicking along the way), so if you're looking for a light-hearted adventure, this is not the thread for you. · · ─────── ·◈· ─────── · · 𝕻𝖗𝖊𝖒𝖎𝖘𝖊 It's 1955 and the war ended ten years ago. After the successful invasion of Britain and the collapse of the Soviet Union, the United States signed an indefinite ceasefire, essentially turning the second world war into an uneasy not-quite-peace between the victorious Axis and the battered remnants of the Allies. While the United States, deeply devided between those who want to continue the fight and those who opposed joining the war in the first place, try to figure out their place in a world that suddenly seemed to have become much darker, the Axis are struggling with the age-old question: "We won. Now what?" While Italy and Germany are busy to reorganize Europe according to their respective (and sometimes mutually exclusive) visions, tensions between the two empires rise. After the sudden death of Mussolini, the Grand Council struggles to figure out which direction the birthplace of fascism should take after the death of it's duce. North of the Alps, the germans struggle not only with the resistance of the conquered people of Europe, their less than reliable collaborator-governments and growing discontent among it's own population, but also with it's internal intrigues, corruption, backstabbing and maneuvering within the Nazi-party. And of course the looming power-struggle over the succession to the (allegedly) ailing Führer. In Asia, the Japanese Empire, no less divided than it's european allies, desperately tries to portray itself as a liberator from colonialism and benevolent, paternal guide to the people of Asia...who seem to have no desire to be paternally guided. ------ A pretty straightforward pitch: What if the Axis won the war? I just finished a university-course on alternative history novels and this (only mildly overdone) prompt has intrigued me in a somewhat morbid way. I do not have a specific, fleshed out plot for this setting, but I could well imagine a grand epic about intrigue, espionage, politics and all that jazz. Fair warning: After spending the better part of the last six months dissecting a whole lot of stories with that premise, I might get a bit nit-picky when it comes to world building. I realize, that his is probabl a bit of a long-shot, but I do have to get this idea out of my head. · · ─────── ·◈· ─────── · · 𝕮𝖍𝖆𝖗𝖆𝖈𝖙𝖊𝖗𝖘 Note: While I generally prefer to play female characters, I'd be tentatively open to step out of my comfort zone a little, if we go with multiple main-characters each. Here a few general character-ideas: An italian author who, thanks to her connections, talent and some good, old nepotism and despite a light drug-problem managed to get critical acclaim and now moves in the highest of societies, celebrated as the "Voice of the New Italy", much to the displeasure of their german "allies", who banned her work as "modernist, degenerate literature". A former soviet pilot, who after the collapse of the Union got stuck in the japanese-occupied east of the country. Comparably lucky, considering that the japanese were marginally more pragmatic and less genozidal than the germans. Still not quite done with the war, she ended up in the employ of a shady japanese businessman or russian collaborator. The wife of a high-ranking Nazi-party member, who managed to sleep, scheme and back-stab her way from a very humble background to a position of some importance within the SS-Women's Auxiliary. Far from being a true believer, she's much more interested in power than ideology. The last member of an old aristocratic family from Germany, who always had some disdain for the Nazis with their thuggish demeanor and disregard for the old elites. After loosing a brother, a husband and a son to the war, that disdain turned into outright hatred... A rebellious young woman, whose parents were involved with the german resistance. After her father "disappeared", one of his co-conspirators took her under his wing, getting her a (for now) safe office job with the Abwehr, the Reich's notoriously unreliable intelligence agency... A french lounge/cabaret-singer, born and raised in war-torn paris. She learned to survive during the war and the occupation with a mix of street-smarts and pragmatism, but has little love for either the german soldiers, still stationed in France or the collaborators, who sold the republic.... · · ─────── ·◈· ─────── · · |
