STEPHANIE YOUNG
She pulled into the driveway to see her mother and father sharing a moment, smiling as she wished to find a love like theirs when the time came. They were pulled away from each other once she shut her engine off and emerged from the vehicle, making a slow walk towards them as she hugged them both gently and closely. β€œAnother work trip, mother?” She questioned her with a quirked brow while her mother nodded her head.

With a sigh, Stephanie half smiled because of her disappointment since her mother was leaving and wouldn’t be able to hear her stories from college. As her mother got inside her own vehicle and drove away, she turned to face her father now with a shrug of her shoulders.

β€œGuess I’ll have to bore you with my stories instead.” A soft chuckle came over her while she sidestepped him to walk inside the home, eyes scanning the interior to search for any changes. There were none that she could spot instantly but she waltzed into the kitchen to fetch herself a bottled water, which she sipped before setting it down on the counter. "So, what's new around here?"

She inquired with a smirk of interest that slowly curved up at the corner of her lips. β€œPerhaps, I should tell you that I changed my major.” She remarked before holding her hand up to cut him off before he said anything practically. β€œI know, I know. Again? But this time, I am sticking with it and it’s Criminal Law.” She continued with a smile because she wanted to become a defense attorney and was striving to reach that goal once and for all.

Stephanie hopped onto the counter and retrieved her bottled water as her eyes peered down at her father. β€œWhat have you guys been up to?” She went back to her original inquiry, deciding to no longer bore him in this moment with her own life - which wasn’t very interesting at the moment.

RICHARD YOUNG

"Again a change of major, huh?" Richard said, barely able to contain a chuckle, as he adjusted his glasses.

"Well I can't say that surprises, considering you've always been quite restless"

The man then moved towards the fridge, and retrieved from it a bottle of orange juice.

"Things have been... Normal, I would say. I've been busy enough between work and a few small fixes around the house.

And the same goes with your mother except she has been dealing with her job and the garden" He said, while looking at the bottle, thoughtful.

"In any case you'll know what I mean eventually; monotony and routine isn't bad but sometimes you wish that things could be different"

Richard then took a glass from one of the cabinets, and poured some juice on it.

His gaze seemed distant, as if he was reminiscing about something, probably his past before he finally settled down.

A thought that would only be more present as the years kept passing by. "You know" He said, as he finally snapped out of it

"Your mother really loves you. It's just that the timing... Has been quite bad these last months.

Don't ask me why, but whenever you were able to come she had to go" After a brief delay the man laughed, to his daughter surprise.

"It's funny, because you two are so similar in some things, it's almost as if you were two magnets with the same side, repelling each other"

And as he stopped laughing, he drank the whole glass in one go.

"In any case, I doubt you're here to be bored with the ramblings of an old man, right? What about you, have you done anything interesting, or

perhaps found someone interesting?"
