Reason for people following a user?

So, I never put much thought into it, but I just edited my request threads in both male and female rp request threads, and had 3 people suddenly pop up as following me under the Alerts. I haven't had this happen often, but is there some significance behind this that I may be missing?

Yeah, I did exactly that, when I joined and was in grey limbo. I followed the ones I could potentially be interested in messaging when I got the chance.

I like to follow the people I get along with really well. My friends and folks I vibe with either via the main chat or after I've come to know them fairly well after roleplaying with them for a while.

I just sort of treat it like a 'friends list' or something, just to show people I really like this person's writing, character, or whatever it may be. It's also nice to see what they've been up to in the news feed if they made a status update I missed or something, etc.

Thanks for the feedback. I will keep that in mind. I usually don't talk to many people outside of PMs so I don't use it myself personally, but might see about using it more.
