So I managed to get my hands on a cheap 3060ti from a friend, which is a substantial upgrade for my current PC.
Problem is, the rest of my PC is now bottlenecking my GPU. So I've decided to upgrade these parts:
CPU
Motherboard
RAM

Problem is, I got not a clue about which parts fit together. From my own research I've come up with two possibilities:
1. Intel i5-13600K with a MSI MAG B760 Tomahawk.
2. Ryzen 9 5900X with a ASUS B550-XE STRIX.

Primary purposes will be playing games, alongside some scare content creation.

For RAM I was thinking DDR5 32 GB 6000 MHz.

My PSU is 650 Watt and (hopefully) my tower will fit these parts. It's an old model that I've long lost the name of, so I unfortunately can't google it's specifications.

Hi! I realize this is a bit delayed, but I only just saw this post.

I would go with the Intel CPU and Mobo - both are somewhat 'dead' chipsets in that they won't be receiving any further new chips or support, and while I am on AM4 myself with a 5800x3d I wouldn't recommend it just because the newer 7000 series is better than the 5000 line. If you were looking into the 7000 series I would probably recommend that line though.

What games and what resolution are you targeting? The 3060ti should still be incredibly great at 1080p games but as someone with a 1440p monitor and who targets that resolution with a 3060ti too, I can say that there are some games where I have to turn down a few settings to medium.

A 650w.... Should be fine, I think? I dunno. My first PC I ever built died of a PSU failure so I've been of the mind 'Bigger is better' in regards to that but I think 650w is the bare minimum for that kind of combo from what I'm reading. I admit if possible I would look into buying a new PSU just in case and if its in your budget.

My other thought would be what is your CPU cooling situation like? Both cards can run fairly hot.

I'm not really a computer expert, but I've got an AMD Ryzen 7 5800X Processor with my ASUS TUF Gaming RTX 3060 OC and I've never had any issues. And I only have 16GB RAM. I've got an ASUS ROG Strix B550-E GAMING motherboard, 750W PSU, and plenty of fans. And my cabinet (or tower if that was what you meant) is quite big, so plenty of space inside!
But that being said, I haven't really tried a lot of graphic-heavy games recently.

Not sure what other components you have, but you might need to change out the crucial ones to newer models if you've got an older PC. They might not be able to handle the new GPU properly because they're outdated. But I think you have a lot more options than the two you've listed!

Thank you a lot for the feedback!

I ended up getting something else, but it's working wonders. Tripled my framerate for most games, so I'm more than pleased!
