Favourite franchises for RP??

Hey Y’all

So as a person that usually prefers to play my own characters, I’ve always been curious about people that enjoy playing as characters from their favourite franchises. Maybe I just have trouble emulating other peoples characters but I thought it would be interesting to hear people’s thoughts and favourites.

So please feel free to share.

What is your favourite Franchise to rp within?
Who are your favourite Characters to play?
 
I used to be involved in a dead by daylight roleplay. I quite enjoyed roleplaying as the different killers, and as the silent hill protagonists.
 
When I play as a character, it’s never really meant for comparison. I try to keep some of their qualities, but throw in my own spins quite a bit.

Anime, Cartoons:

Naruto - play as Tsunade, Konan, Kaguya, Anko

My Dress Up Darling: Marin

Dragon Ball: Chichi, Bulma, Android 21, 18, Vados, others too.

Bleach - play as Orihime, Ikumi or Yoruichi, but all of the females are easy to consider.

Villainous - Miss Heed

Rent-a-Girlfriend: Sumi, Chizuru, Mami, Ruka, Yaemori

My Hero Academia: Camie

Saiki K- Mikoto

Witchblade: Masane Amaha

Kakegurui: Yumeko Jabami

Gleipnir: Clair Aoki

The Dragon Prince: Rayla

Seven Deadly Sins: Merlin, Jericho, Melascula, Elizabeth, Diane, Margaret (possessed)

Tekken: Alisa, Xiaoyu, Asuka, Reina

Street Fighter: Laura, Juri, Chun Li, Female Bison

King of Fighters: Shermie, Luong, Mai,

Final Fantasy: Lulu, Tifa, Jessie

The 4 main franchises that immediately come to mind (for me, at least) would be: Star Trek, Star Wars, Mass Effect, Dragon Age

All 4 are huge worlds/universes with a plethora of characters and Lore each, and so many options to work with.
 
I have many favorites, both franchise and characters I love to play. The list would only grow if I were to add characters I want the opportunity to play someday.

Dragon Ball Z/GT/Super - Future Gohan, Future Trunks, Gohan, Vegeta, Goku.

Naruto - Sasuke Uchiha, Neji Hyuga, Naruto Uzumaki.

Devil May Cry - Dante, Nero, Vergil.

Final Fantasy - Cloud Strife, Yuffie Kisaragi.

DC Universe - Jason Todd, Dick Grayson, Roy Harper (clone, Young Justice).

Marvel Universe - Miles Morales.

Pokemon - Gary Oak, Ash Ketchum, Steven Stone.

Star Wars - Luke Skywalker, Han Solo, Obi-Wan Kenobi.

League of Legends - Ekko, Ezreal, Sett, Poppy, Zed, Kayn.
 
Probably Walking Dead or Marvel Universe. No favorite Walking Dead character to play as I prefer creating own in that universe. Like playing Natasha or Wanda in Marvel.
 
My favorites franchises to RP are originating from my childhood or later on.

The more i’m familiar with them, the better.
 
Damn, that's a tough one. Pokemon has been my go-to since I started roleplaying (Whether Brendan, Nate, Steven Stone, etc) but have diversified my fandoms. Granted, still a bit stubborn who I play for them haha
