The hustle and chaos of the Lantern Rite Festival had finally come to an end, and Shenhe felt like she could breathe once again as she wandered the streets of Liyue Harbor. While she did her best to interact with her small group of people that she could tolerate, it was still overwhelming and sometimes suffocating. Now that the harbor wasn't congested with extra vendor stalls and tourists, she felt more at ease as she focused on her footsteps on the stone pathway. The loud noises that came along with Lantern Rite had dulled into the dulcet tones of the everyday city that she had grown accustomed to. The lazy ambience of the streets at midday was one of her favorite times to take a walk. With the sun shining and the scent of the sea on the air, Shenhe couldn't think of anything more calming, other than her solitary meditation in the mountains.
At the present moment, Shenhe was on her way to meet Ganyu near the bridge on the west side of the harbor. Apparently she was being sent on a trip to the other nations and needed a travel companion. In other words, Shenhe was going to be guarding Ganyu while they were on this political endeavor and she had no problem with that. Shenhe wouldn't know the first thing about how to speak to an archon or an ambassador of another country. While she and Ganyu had never spent an extended amount of time together, they had found themselves bonding more during Lantern Rite, since their master had invited them to make kites. Shenhe realized then, that she really didn't know much about the half-qilin even though they'd spent time growing up together.
Still, she thought it best to make more of an effort. Usually, the thought of leaving Liyue, leaving her master, would cause her a great deal of anxiety. Being in unfamiliar territory made it hard for her to relax and as such, it also made the red ropes' power wane ever so slightly. So Shenhe did her best to try and keep calm and view this as a new adventure to learn more about the rest of the world. Traveling with someone she already knew was also helpful. She was confident that Ganyu would be able to keep her grounded if need be. As she neared the bridge, she saw the tell-tale horns of her traveling companion. Shenhe stopped short, feeling anxiety creeping up her spine as the reality of her leaving Liyue was almost upon her. She inhaled slowly, trying to center her emotions before forcing her feet forward to approach Ganyu.
"Good afternoon, Ganyu." Shenhe greeted as she scanned the nearby area in case there was a potential threat. Regardless of how comfortable or how well known an area was, that never guaranteed one's safety. "Is there any more preparations you need to make before we head out? Do we need any more supplies?"
Since this was the first time that Shenhe would be traveling a far distance, she didn't really know what was needed, other than food perhaps. She didn't have any possessions other than the clothes on her back and her polearm. Though she assumed that Ganyu would have other things since this was technically a political trip. Documents of some sort or perhaps gifts for the other archons, hopefully things that wouldn't be too heavy or awkward to travel with.
"I'm not sure of the etiquette that goes along with traveling with others." She continued as she folded her arms over her chest. "So you may have to teach me what is and isn't appropriate."
