『Kodoku no Saibou』(1×1 w/ Jikkah)

Masamune glanced at Megohime and sighed.
"Alright, fine..." He relented, "Can you grab one of my empty scrolls, Megohime? They're with our things."

“Hai.” Megohime made sure Masamune was steady where he sat on his bed before moving to retrieve the empty scroll from their things, returning and holding it out for him to take as she moved to support him once more.
Yukimura watched nervously- not long ago the four of them had been locked in a nasty battle amongst the ruins of a plagued town, now they were seeking their assistance. Not only that, but Masamune was actually agreeing to work together with them and help Akihime lift her curse.

"I can't wait to see what this will do to a normal human~" Masamune muttered. Akihime scowled at him but said nothing; she would die if he didn't take the curse soon. Masamune muttered a chant under his breath and Akihime immediately looked like she was going to throw up. She began to hack and gag before lurching forward, expelling a black and moldy green mist from her mouth. When it fully left her body, she nearly crumpled to the ground as the mold spore drifted towards the scroll in Masamune's hands. It sunk into the paper, leaving dark red ink writings before he quickly rolled it closed and tied it.

Yukimura caught Akihime as she crumpled to the ground, holding her up and glancing briefly to the curse that had been afflicting his master.
“Can you tell what the curse is?” He asked, slowly rubbing Akihime’s back, brow crinkled in worry.
Jin moved to Akihime’s side once the curse was lifted, going to work immediately to heal her accumulated injuries from the curse, helping relieve the pain in her body.

"Oh yeah. Whoever made this curse really knows their stuff. Poison, nerve toxins, muscle atrophy to name a few of the ailments. Man made, not by any spirit or demon." Masamune replied. He managed to turn his head to Megohime and grinned, "Just think of the possibilities~"
Akihime was already starting to gain some of her color back, gasping for air like she had been suffocated.

Megohime gave a sinister smirk, leaning in closer, caressing his jaw lightly with her fingertips.
“And when you’ve recovered, I look forward to see what you do with it~” She kissed his cheekbone lightly.
Once Jin had ensured that Akihime’s condition was quickly improving, she looked to Masamune, a soft frown on her face.
“Date-dono, if I may… Were I to nullify the poison afflicting you, would you be willing to further lend us aid?”
“Jin-dono..!” Yukimura looked to her in surprise.

Jin lowered her head slightly, placing her fingers upon the ground.
“We have lost two of our comrades to Otani Yoshitsugu- they’ve been stolen. I’m afraid that even with the power I possess, I am not strong enough to be enough to win the fight alone, with your aid-”
“Your request is denied.” Megohime cut her off, tone firm as she placed one last kiss on Masamune’s jaw before pulling away to look at the kitsune fully.
“I’ve played along such far, but I think I’ve grown tired of this charade- your masters life is saved from certain peril, yet you ask for more?” She scoffed incredulously, glaring down her nose.
“And here I thought the ginger one was greedy, but it seems all kitsune are that way.”

"I ask sincerely that you do not presume such things of Jin-dono.." Akihime said, having enough strength to stand on her own. Her legs wobbled a bit and she braced against Yukimura but was already doing much better than a few moments ago.
"She only speaks for my best interest, as any of my shikigami would. I already owe you one favor, Masamune, and I would not be so bold as to owe another."
"Indeed. Two favors would make you no better than my servant." Masamune smirked, "However, I have to agree with Megohime. I've helped you and now you must return the kindness. That is where we part ways for the time being."
"I understand...if I may have a talisman, I will transfer my knowledge of the antidote into it so Megohime may cure you." Akihime said.

Megohime turned her head away at Akihime’s request, rolling her eyes lazily as she leaned back slightly to get comfortable.
Yukimura made sure Akihime stood without falling, righting himself with a frown.
“It’s alright, Akihime-dono, I know well just how greedy us Kitsune can be. I thank you regardless- Date-dono, Megohime-dono.” Jin bowed her head slightly before raising it, standing so she would be ready to leave with Akihime, producing a talisman for her.
“Thank you, Date-dono..” Yukimura bowed stiffly, making sure he still showed proper respect even if he was dissatisfied with Masamune’s answer to not help Akihime, his displeasure apparent on his face.

Akihime thanked her as she took the talisman, placing it to her forehead and muttering something under her breath. The paper flashed and the ink glittered gently before she offered it to Megohime, "Here. As promised."

Megohime looked to the talisman and took it from Akihime.
“Thanks, you have my gratitude, Onmyoji.” Megohime stood, touching the paper to her own forehead to receive the knowledge on Amaya’s poison. She made a soft noise, the poison a simple but nasty one, it would be something she could have dealt with by nightfall.

"If that's all?" Masamune asked. Akihime nodded.
"It is. Thank you, Masamune."
"Happy to be of service." Masamune smiled before he waved them farewell.

Yukimura moved to the door to leave, relieved that they had cured Akihime of their curse, but still frustrated despite their overall success.

Frantic footfalls sounded outside of Yoshitsugu’s office, a guard panting heavily as he spoke up in a panicked voice.
“Otani-sama! T-Two of the Yokai have gotten into an argument turned physical..!” He reported hurriedly.
“They’ve begun to destroy the courtyard..” He knelt anxiously before the door, out of breath.

Several guards stood watching the jorogumo and the kitsune attack one another relentlessly, no one daring to try and get between or even near the two, the spider-woman enraged that he had stepped on one of her spiders.
“You killed him on purpose!” She hissed, her face split open to reveal large fangs dripping with poison; using her razor-sharp webs to trip him up from behind as she tried to impale his feet with her needle-sharp legs, moving with lightening speed as she chased him down. She didn’t only use her webs and legs, slashing at his face with her armored claws, trying to grab ahold of him to hold him still.

"Now then..." Akihime muttered, "Let's see if we can't bring Amaya and Sasuke home."

Yoshitsugu exhaled gently, eyes already holding immeasurable annoyance before pushing himself up from his seat.

Sasuke bobbed and weaved her webs, legs, and claws, smirking mischievously as he ran from her.
"Aw, what's wrong~? I figured I could make things easier for you~ are you not grateful~?"

((We’ll return to them shortly~))

Easier?” A stone lantern was slashed into several chunks as Sasuke weaved to avoid her claws, furious eyes glittering with malice.
“Allow me to relieve you of your limbs and feed you your own entrails, you bumptious, over-grown vermin!” She didn’t let up for a moment, paying no attention to any of the guards that stopped to watch.

He ducked one of her many swipes and navigated around her legs and webs to get behind her, waving his fan and sending blades of air into the joints of her legs before blowing over the top and shooting blue fire into her thorax.

Blood splattered the stones of the garden, but none of her legs gave way, the flames licking at her back painfully, but her new armor spared her from the brunt of his foxfire. She let out a scream of anger and pain, shielding her face from the fire with her arms.
Sharp spider silk closed tightly around Sasuke’s arm, cutting easily through his clothes and biting into his flesh as Amaya threw him down hard into the deer-scare, smashing it apart with Sasuke and quickly chasing after him with an angry hiss.

Amaya came to an abrupt halt just a few paces from Sasuke, her breathing labored as she turned her head to look at Yoshitsugu.
“He’s killing my spiders.” She responded tensely, motioning angrily to Sasuke, bearing her fangs at him as she turned to him once more.
Purposefully.” The jorogumo hissed.

"Sasuke." Yoshitsugu chided, and something about that rubbed Sasuke wrong.
"She doesn't really need them." He argued, "She can do well enough on her own."
"And how am I to know if someone tries to infiltrate our dwelling, hm?" Yoshitsugu asked. Sasuke's ears pinned back gently.
"They wouldn't get very far, she's big enough to eat an army."

Amaya gnashed her teeth at Sasuke, retraining herself enough to only lurch toward him a single step at his callous remark about her spiders, eyes glittering with rage.
“It doesn’t surprise me that you didn’t think through your actions.” She sneered.

This wasn’t enough to please the jorogumo, but she closed her face to hide her teeth, turning her head away from Sasuke.
“Hai.” She turned away fully from Sasuke.
