With a sigh and a stretch, First Officer Kiomi Olex disembarked from the Duchess of the

. The massive spaceship was a grand sight to behold even docked in a shipyard among dozens of other similar craft. The Duchess was built to carry thousands of paying passengers as its crew ferried them in comfort and luxury to the galaxy’s most favored travel locations. Their current port on the planet Aenides was one such location and Kiomi had no intention of missing the Aenidian nightlife.

Under the brilliant pink and orange hue of sunset, Kiomi quickly strode away from the docked ship. As always, the puazi woman had followed all manner of appropriate protocol before leaving her station. The ship and the crew were in good hands. And she had every right to enjoy some well earned time off the clock. Still, the idea of being seen by her crew in her off work attire made her uneasy, so she kept a brisk pace as she left the dock. Her teal cocktail dress was nothing too scandalous, but the short length and low-cut did accentuate assets that were best kept discreet in the workplace.

Instead of taking the brightly lit path into town for tourists, Kiomi turned down the path preferred by the locals. With Aenides being a frequent stop for the Duchess, Kiomi knew exactly where she wanted to spend her few hours away from the ship.

Within minutes Kiomi found herself at the doors of a nightclub. Overhead a sign reading “Passion” glowed in brilliant neon pink. After a short wait, the woman was granted entry. The main room of the nightclub buzzed with activity and neon lighting. It was crowded with a sea of revelers of a multitude of alien races, dancing to the loud, thumping music.

Kiomi felt the pull of the music’s rhythm immediately. The last of the stern, unyielding persona that she wore to work melted to nothing as her hips began to sway with the beat. She was no longer thinking about the ship or the crew or the old captain's new replacement who'd she have to meet in the next day or so. None of that matter here. In seconds, she was out on the dance floor, dancing by herself and with others here and there as the mood struck her.

Captain William Freeman, it was odd just saying that to himself now. Will had been in the navy for five years. Military service had not suited him, but it was the easiest and most affordable way to become a pilot, and since his parents did not have much money it was the best option available to him. At the five year mark he was offered a promotion, having been told he had true potential. Ahead of him lied a safe and steady career, he could be a career military man and retire at the age of 45. A few minutes after the offer was made however, Will handed in his retirement papers and told them 'thanks for the offer, I would rather have fun!'

It was a bold choice, but in the end he had made the right one. Over the next 10 years he bounced around between ships, working on everything from a 'legal' smugglers vessel to a tour guide to a local super nova. He had skills, but Will never really wanted to be tied down. That was until his 39th birthday when he realized that a life of just flying around and making friends with locals, only to be forgotten within the next few days was not the way he wanted to spend the rest of his life. That was why over the next year he actually buckled down, he got in connection with his old military colleagues, and he began to take his work seriously. It was this attitude that had him meet Captain Latisha Brown. She was another human, late 70s, and she had been the captain of the Duchess of the Stars for the last 20 years. The captain took a liking to Will, telling him that he had just the kind of spirit that she was looking for.

Apparently, despite knowing that Latisha was going to retire, her second in command, Kiomi Olex had no interest in taking her place. Kiomi was just as good of, if not a better, pilot and leader than Latisha. Yet she was a woman who seemed distant to most, and Latisha wanted someone to balance her out. After securing Will a meeting with the owner of the Duchess, he had become the new captain. The crew had taken the news well, but that was most likely because despite not knowing the captain, they all knew that Kiomi was still on board and would make sure the ship ran smoothly. Kiomi had not seen the need to meet with William before their first voyage, and she had told him they would have plenty of time to talk when his job began.

He had hoped to meet the woman once, having heard so many good things about her piloting and leadership skills. Personality wise, Latisha had just told him that she would take time to warm up to him. He had no idea what that meant, but tonight he was not going to worry about it. He had his last night of freedom and no responsibility before he became a captain of a huge ship, might as well have fun.

Will had no idea what had caused him to enter the Passion club. The place seemed reputable enough and the music was good, so why not enter? He had stepped foot in the place when already he could feel something off, a slight tingling in the back of his head. Will ignored this as he made his way through the club. He wore dark black pants and a red cotton shirt that hugged his body and showed that the man still had a solid, muscular build even years after leaving the army. Having taken a drink in his hand, he headed to the dance floor, enjoying the music and letting his body sway and move to the rhythm. He was sure that he was not really headed in any one direction, but his body was guiding him to something.

It wasn't until the beat finally peaked and the current song ended that William accidentally turned and bumped into someone. His drink was mostly empty but a bit of it spilled on the teal cockail dress of an absolutely gorgeous Puazi woman. William had obviously met his fair share of Puazi as he explored the galaxy, but from the moment he laid eyes on this woman something in his brain told him she was different. He shook his head slightly, clearing that crazed thought from his head as he quickly looked into her beautiful eyes and apologized. "I am so sorry about that, this is my first time in the club and I wasn't paying attention to where I was going." He looked down at her dress, not seeing a stain before saying, "Can I offer you a drink to make up me being so clumsy?" He had heard that his second in command was a Puazi, but that did not yet register that this could be the same person.

With the combination of thumping music, dazzling lights, and overall energy of the dance floor, Kiomi felt fully immersed into the moment. How long had it been since she’d been able to get away and let loose? Clearly too long. Still, her body had no trouble remembering how to move with the cat-like grace and sultry rhythm appropriate for a setting like this one.

Something changed, however, as the currently playing song neared its end. She could feel it in the air and in her body. As the seconds passed, she felt a light sensation run down her spine, almost like someone gently gliding a feather along her naked skin.

There was a human here. Given the strength or her reaction, it had to be multiple. A pack of human party goers perhaps? Kiomi sighed at this new apparent inconvenience. It was best for her to avoid them, lest her plans for the night take a turn.

While her urges were weaker than most, Kiomi was not unaffected by the strange interaction between puazi and human chemistry. She was usually able to tolerate the enticing pheromones of humans, including her superior Captain Brown, well enough. Existing in close quarters with a human or two increased her libido for sure, but not in a way that was unmanageable or distracting. A pack of humans, however… that might be more challenging.

Kiomi’s elongated, caprine ears raised to attention as she scanned the room, looking for what had to be a group of 20 or so humans given the intensity of the alert to her senses. Her brows furrowed as the sea of green and purple bodies refused to reveal the objects of her search. Until, that is, she turned and collided with a tall, muscular body.

In that moment, Kiomi experienced several layers of astonishment. First, she was face to face with a gorgeous man whose gaze alone made her heart skip a beat. Next came the realization that he was human. Then, the realization that this was the human she’d be scanning the crowd for. He alone was the source of the alluring pheromones. She was still looking up at him, somewhat dumbly and processing her thoughts, as he explained and apologized. Had he spilled his drink on her? The bit of cold moisture on her arm felt like nothing compared to what her mind was actually focused on.

Not wanting to seem like an utter fool, Kiomi willed herself to speak in spite of her state of shock "Uh, yeah. Yeah! A drink would be great" she smiled, both genuinely and out of embarrassment at her earlier freezing "Don't worry too much about the spill. It happens to the best of us, clumsy or not. That's why I always down my drinks well before the dancing starts. Free hands, no spills, and it's harder to care about being clumsy after a few drinks" she winked at him playfully and began moving over to the bar.

It would seem that Puazi and Humans were destined to be together. William remembered reading about their first meeting. How two professional negotiation teams went to discuss formalizing relations only for hours to pass with no communication to the outside world. When people eventually did go in to check on them they discovered a massive orgy, with their colleagues taking part in the most passionate sex with strangers that they had ever seen. From that point on, rules had to be put in place, and stabilizers and drugs created to suppress the needs of both groups when they would have to interact with each other.

Later they discovered that the reaction the species shared was quite different on an individual level, with some people being able to completely suppress the urge while others were overwhelmed by it. There were rumors that it could even depend on the individual itself and not just on a species to species level, but that theory has yet to be tested. Or so he thought.

As Will bumped into Kiomi the woman looked up at him with an odd expression, as if she was taking time to acknowledge what had happened. Part of Will understood this feeling, it was hard to really think straight when confronted with someone this beautiful, this alluring. She paused for a minute before answering his question, accepting his offer and allowing him to buy her a drink. Her own smile brought a radiant grin to his own face, genuinely excited and almost ecstatic to have a reason to continue to talk to this gorgeous woman.

She told him not to worry, reminding him of how dangerous the dance floor could be and causing him to give her a broad smile as he said, "Clever and beaitful, now that is a dangerous combination." He followed her to the bar, taking a stand by her so their bodies were almost touching. Normally, he might have given her a bit more space, but it was as if her body was actually calling out to him and he was gladly answering its call.

Near the bar the music was less loud and he could hear her better, so as they waited for the bar tender to notice them he said, "So, do you mind me asking your name then? This is my first time in Aenides, so I was sure I would never get the chance to run into someone like yourself." His eyes fixed on hers, as if drawn in to her dark and sensual stare before he asked, "Are you from here, or are you here on business as well?" He knew the people of Aenides were a mix of multiple races with humans only making up about 5% of the population and Puazi making up around 15%.
