Tonight had been the long anticipated news that everyone had been wanting to hear. For months the Motif Consequence had been sending out demos to so many record labels even Danice Richards, often called Danny or D for short, had lost count. Finally the news had come. The concert had been flawless, everyone knew their notes, knowing their spot on the way side things got a little iffy. They only had one instrument in the entire band, a keyboarder. Thank goddess for that as the woman's blue eyes looked over the crowd. Tonight they were doing a special cover song, most of their originals had gone over well that the cover was different. Usually with a male lead.
Indeed they had a male, a few actually and other than the keyboardist another female to articulate different sounds than the keyboard. She had the audience's attention, with a song that started out as a ballad. "You see, I watch over fighting men, so they can have peace again. Maybe some day you will be all free....." Her voice soared over the crowd, sweat still clinging to her as the heat from the lights and masses of people started to get to her. Her blue eyes were hypnotic as they moved over the crowd. Black jeans covering her hips, corset adorning her upper body, the deep sea blue bringing out her naturally pale skin and bright eyes to a more sea like color. White open spots painted along her spine, her snow leopard spots standing out against the furred tail that hung around her ankle as she sat on the stool.
It was the last song, the encore actually, after this it was off to celebrate at the local bar. Furred ears peeked from her dark hair as they swiveled around to listen to the others, their voices blending seamlessly into the music to make it afire. They only needed voices. It was what had called them together. Years of show choir in high school had finally paid off. She had gotten her dream as their voices soared into the power ballad, "Don't tread on me! Live free or Die..."
As the song came to a close cheers ripped through the crowd again as Danny raised her hands, a soft purr in her voice as she spoke, "I know you all have been wondering what the big news was that has been circulating about this show. Well are you ready to hear it?!" Shouts of 'Yeah' echoed the area, a soft chuckle in her voice as she continued, "I don't think I heard you, are you sure you want to hear this?" Another round full of 'Yeahs!' filtered the room louder than before, setting the mic up on it's stand she moved to stand herself, although she ran on the short end amongst her band mates, she still stood a good five nine.
"Well you asked for it!" She said as she reached to pull a curtain that fell behind the group. In artistic script was the bands name, but that wasn't the biggest story, no what was around the border was KOMODO DRAGON RECORDS SIGNS all over. Cheers filtered the air as Danny continued to talk. "Thank you all very much for continuing to support us on our journey the past three years. It's been a pleasure forever to us! HAVE A GOOD NIGHT!" She said the last with a shout as the lights dimmed. Finally.
Walking over the cords she disappeared down into the green room, a good hideaway from the heat, and smoke that had started to form as she settled onto one of the couches. Grabbing a bottle of water on the way down, she tried to open it with a twist...making a face when she couldn't. As the others came in she held up the bottle. "Any of you guys want to help me with this?" She asked gentle, her voice slightly husky from the last shout.
