Question Genuine Question about Recent Change with PMs

I just happened to notice it, as I was offline for a couple of days, that I no longer have the option to edit any message sent in PMs. I'm wondering why that is and why it's only limited to support members? Is this part of a way to ensure the new rule addition doesn't get abused or something? Just doesn't really make sense.

If there's a thread that provides a detailed reasoning, then I'd love to see it or else it's just a big headscratcher imo.

Not being able to edit PMs after a certain amount of time has always been a feature of the site. You're only able to edit PMs within a short window of time unless you're a supporter, indefinite PM edits are a supporter-exclusive benefit.

 

[Sync]

Non-supporters have a 12-hour (I think) window to edit PMs they send.

Supporters have an indefinite editing window for their PMs.
