A well-known city cannot simply drop off the face of the earth...can it?
A well known, and popular trade capital has had a very sudden decline, all due to a new king. Or so the people thought. The first few months of this man's rule went well, with a flourishing city, becoming richer by the hour due to the trading of its people and their goods with outsiders. This city was a safe-haven for most, full of peace and life, then things began to change. Slowly, almost un-noticeable, The people saw more of the King's guards roaming the streets, the city's rules being enforced more strictly and the punishments for simple crimes becoming extreme what would once result in a fine now resulted in the person being taken away never to be seen again. Then...people were starting to disappear even those who had committed no crime what so ever. One by one the population of this once grand city vanished. The townspeople had been forcibly located underground, into a system of caverns, forced to become the king's slaves. Forced to mine deep into the earth for valuable resources, that had no use to the people who had once lived above ground in prosperity. These once-happy people have been isolated from everything and everyone, they haven't seen sunlight in ten years. But all of a sudden there have been rumors of a rebellion among the younger workers, but will it be successful? will they be able to overthrow the king? Or will they forever be left underground?

While no one is allowed to leave the caverns one small group of people are allowed they are the females who are able to dance this small group is very special as they have to pass a surprising number of tests just to be accepted into the group let alone allowed to dance for the king and his people. the day before a performance the women are pulled from the mines and take to shower and prepare for the command performance while under extreme guard so that no one can escape. these females all dread going above ground as not everyone returns right away occasionally one or two of the females will be called away to do a 'private performance' for the king and his head general. Sometimes it is simply overnight they are gone, or it is one or two days but sometimes the girls never return and no one ever hears from them again

beneath the city near the very back of one of the twisting mine tunnels was a large room filled with women of all ages who were sitting and chipping away at the precious stones on their tables that they were to have cut and polished by the nights' end. one of these ladies was one of the king's dancers. Bailey groaned when two guards walked into her workspace as she knew what it meant, there was another command performance the next day and all of the king's dance troop was being called top side. Bailey knew better than to fight with them as the first time she had she had been beaten rather badly and hadn't been able to dance like she had been called to do. Bailey finished her work and then stood up and followed them to the landing where they would be gathered before being taken top side. Bailey looked at the others there and they were all scared and she could see it in their faces. Out of all of them, Bailey had the most unique coloring as she had tanned skin as if she spent every day in the sun but her hair was pale platinum blonde with the tips of her hair being a deep midnight blue.

Up in the castle stood the head general Lo-Wen, he was waiting with his king as the commanders were coming to give their reports on the most recent snuffing out of rebels. While they hadn't been able to find the leader they all felt as if they were getting close to finding out who the leader was, if not actually being able to catch them. Lo-Wen looked over at his king and nodded alerting him without speaking that those who didn't do their fair amount of work would be punished and severely at that once the meeting was over. Lo-Wen was the most brutal of the generals but also the most loyal to the king so he had complete access and no one worried about him betraying the king. Lo-Wen looked over when a maid came over to serve the king his drink of choice while the commanders were giving his report. while they had some luck and were claiming that they would find the leader soon Lo-Wen had his doubts about it.

All of the girls within the mines were scared when it was being announced that there was going to be a performance, and all of the dance troops were pulled away from their jobs. This had all those that hadn't made it as dancers afraid for them and after the guards had left there were whispers for them to all come back safely. No many of them knew that it was only a partial chance that all of them would return - there was a chance that the king and some of his men would want to keep them for the evening. Yet thankfully it was known that the dance troops belonged to the king and the king alone - so if any of the men other than the generals were wanting anything to do with them - then they were needing to ask permission from the king. Yet there was that terrifying chance that the king had already given permission and nobody else knew about it. Soon the dance troops were all gathered at the lift that would take them topside so that they could perform for the king and his people.

Up in the castle, all of the commanders and the king were gathered within the war room at the time just discussing everything that had been happening recently - more particular talking about the rebels and figuring out their leader. Now that Damion was truly worried about the rebels - or their little ploy to try and kill him at all. No he wasn't without his defenses even if he did tend to act as though he was rather helpless - that was just a ploy to lead the enemy into actually try and kill him - only for them to be finding their demise right then and there. It wasn't long before the doors to the war room seemed to be opening as a young woman came into the room wearing a pale green dress and she seemed to have a blindfold of the same color wrapped her around her eyes, a maid at her side having lead her there. This definitely had some of the other men within the room rather confused as to why the young woman was there, especially since she acted as the castle's main healer.

"My king. Why is it you have summoned me at such a late hour? I was busy making more potions to send down to the caverns as per your request." the young woman was speaking which had the king rising to his feet and there were some of them that thought he was going over to strike at her - Lo-Wen knew that that wasn't going to be the case, because he would know the truth behind the young woman's true identity. "Because you shall be attending the ball tonight, High General Lo-Wen shall act as your escort." Damion was speaking which told them both one thing - he was finally revealing to the world the existence of his daughter. This had the young woman giving a low curtsy before she spoke, "As you wish, my lord. I shall retire so that I can get ready." This had him nodding and he was dismissing everybody, order Lo-Wen to escort her back to her tower.

Lo-Wen nodded his head and then bowed before following the woman out and escorting her back to her rooms. Lo-Wen had been told earlier in the day that he would be taking her to the ball that evening and he was already prepared to keep her safe incase something happened during the ball. while the ball was held mainly for those above ground he knew that some of the people below ground would be pulled topside and instructed to perform for the king

The young woman in question was just leading out of the room and was just letting out a slow breath of air that she hadn't even realized that she was holding. Oh she definitely wasn't ready for this at all. About the only time she interacted with people was when they came into the hospital wing otherwise she spent a lot of her time in her tower, or even within the gardens collecting herbs. Eristella was just rubbing her temples a bit as she just leaned against the wall.

Lo-Wen looked at her "I'll pick you up in time for the ball" Lo-Wen could tell she was a little stressed out and he wanted to make sure that she knew he would be coming to get her and a rough time on when he would be arriving.

Eristella was just tilting her head in his general direction before she was speaking in a soft voice, "I am not prepared for this at all."

"it is the king's orders there is nothing that can be done" Lo-Wen then took her arm so that he could guide her back to her tower so she could get ready while he went and tended to his duties before getting ready for the ball as well.

Eristella was just speaking, "I am aware. I am more than aware. I'm just not sure that now is the right time for him to make this decision." After all she was definitely quite innocent and didn't know how to fight at all. With that she was just walking with him so that they could get back and was stating that after he left she was wanting for him to send a few trusted maids to help her change.

Lo-Wen nodded his head and before he left he called for a few maids that the king trusted and then instructed them to help her get ready for the ball so that she would be ready.

It wasn't long before the pair were parting ways and she was heading off to get ready with the help of some of the maids. Hopefully maids that would actually help her and not ridicule her like others had in the past because of her flaw. Her blindness - one of the reason she tended to wear a blindfold, to hide that fact especially since her eyes were a very pale color, almost white.

Lo-Wen had silently warned the maids not to do anything but help her as the king would be less than pleased if he had to punish them because of their behavior. Lo-Wen would look forward to finding out if they helped or did something else as he would question her about it and he would insist on the truth

Within the next few hours it seemed like it was time for the ball, and Eristella was finished getting ready. Her silver hair was put up into an elegant bun, and a blindfold was being tied around her eyes the same color as her dress, as per her request. The maids helped her into her dress and one of them was cooing, "Oh you look so beautiful."

Lo-Wen soon showed up in is most formal uniform. Lo-Wen then knocked on the door to let them know that he was there and ready to go. Lo-Wen had just come from checking on the dancers and had been pleased to see that they had found time to come up with new dances rather than risk the king's anger over not having changed them as he requested.

One of the maids was answering the door and pushing it open so that he could enter the room, just as another was getting the finishing touches done with Eristella, which was getting her jewelry on. It wasn't long before she was being turned around so that Lo-Wen could see her in a whole and one of the maids was announcing that she was all ready to go.

Lo-Wen looked her over then walked over to her and gently took her hand in his so that he could guide her to the ball room so that the king could introduce her to the world

Eristella was just taking his hand and was soon enough following after him towards the ballroom, they could already hear that the party had already begun. Already people were there, including the king. With that she was just letting out a small breath. Nope she didn't have to worry about anything - everything was going to be fine. And the announcement wouldn't happen until after everybody had arrived.

Lo-Wen walked into the room with her and guided her over to the king to greet him as was the proper behavior for balls. Lo-Wen bowed to the male and greeted him "Good evening My King"

Damion was looking towards him before he spoke, "Greetings General, Greetings Doctor. Please take your seats up at the high table, the entertainment shall begin soon." He was gesturing towards the table where usually only the royals sat at - but now it was usually VIP quests.

Lo-Wen nodded his head and then guided her over to her seat so that she could settle down and get ready for the entertainment not that she could see it but she would be able to s hear the music

Eristella was settling in her seat and was just humming a bit before telling the servant that had come over to see if they wanted anything to drink, what she was wanting. Within the next fifteen minutes it seemed like the dance troop was coming into the ballroom.

Lo-Wen asked for a drink as well and then looked over when the dancers were led into the hall. even from where he was sitting he could tell that all but one were scared and trembling. Lo-Wen looked over at the king to see if the male had noticed this as well or if he wasn't fully paying attention

Damion was just looking as the dancers were coming before he was announcing, "Welcome one and all to this year's ball. Please enjoy the show while the chefs finish preparing the meal, and then I have an announcement for all."

Bailey directed the girls and watched as one by one they each performed. Bailey was the last to go as her dance was the longest but she didn't mind as it would keep the kings attention off of the other s while they left the room, or so she hoped.

Eristella just listened to the music at that point in time and listened to the light sounds of the feet on the ground, her head just tilting to the side a bit and a faint smile on her lips. Damion seemed to be a little bored as he was watching - either bored or distracted, who exactly knew.

when it came time for Bailey to dance she moved to the center of the room her footsteps so light that she made no sound when she walked. once the music started Baliey started to dance moving in time with each note
