Is there some way to turn off the reputation thingy?

I don't really care for the reputation system, because other sites that have used it have cost me rping partners, both for reviews that are less than satisfactory to that person, as well as going negative for no reason. People are superficial, i know that. But when they see something like that, without getting to know if the person is compatible with THEM, they can lose out on valuable partners and friends.

What about the thanks thingy?

I like the thanks system. You can't downnthank people, you only get to thank once per post, there's not a lot of configuration to fret over, etc.
