I don’t think it’s a good idea to turn an historical figure as a hero when it wasn’t the case, at all.
And isn’t using an historical figure and lying about their history disrespectful?
I preferred when they put their own creations, and said-creations met the figures, whether they were assassins, templars or just neutral.
I’m not against diversity, i am against the way that it is treated, how it is presented. For example, the way the "game" Dustborn presented the main protagonist was absolutely terrible, being unlikeable, doing terrible things, being a jerk and an hypocrite.
I think that Ubisoft should stop trying to appears more "diverse" for earning points when they got characters that really worked, contributed to the plots in their way.
They had everything, including a woman who dressed herself as a man, Kidd, and Kidd was trully enjoyable as a whole, never having a terrible personality and being comprehensive, compassionate.
Nowadays, it seems to be a trend to make a character being absolutely awful, a pain to deal with, and i’m not sure if it’s due to hate, or for earning any points, but it’s never a good idea.
And knowing how any big companies went on the same route, i cannot force myself to be positive and lying by pretending that "it will work!".
