In my happy place.
The thunderous cacophony of hundreds of people talking, barkers calling, calliope music playing, shrieks of joy and surprise and fear, mixed with the scents of grilled and fried foods and the sugary sweetness of cotton candy on the air spoke of a Circus. It was the sights that set this Circus apart from all the others. The Coheen's "Bizarre Brothers Circus" was one of a kind in that it didn't cater to the families like the other traveling Circuses. No, Harvey Coheen had centered his show around the shocking. People could do any number of things to entertain themselves and bring happiness to their lives, but it wasn't often they could go to a place to feel the rush of fright and not have to worry about their safety. People loved to be scared, whether they admitted it or not. The rush one got when confronted by something that made them uncomfortable was like nothing else and Harvey Coheen was capitalizing on it.

All the tents were done in dark colors, black and reds with warning splashes of yellows and oranges around, making the Circus itself look like a venomous creature warning of the danger it held. Stilt walkers stalked the grounds catching the attention of the crowd while dwarf clowns ran through the crowds getting in jump scares, leading groups to attractions, pulling small pranks and occasionally picking an unsuspecting pocket. All the games and rides were given a dark, unsettling theme to them, even those directed towards the kids that parents inevitably brought with them. The entire point of the Bizarre Brothers was to glorify the grotesque, to delight in the disturbing, to find fun in fear, and to see beauty in the broken.

Harvey stood tall in the center of the main ring, the entirety of the crowds attention on him. The rush of having so many eyes on him pounded through his whole being, this was what he lived for. Taking a moment to let it all sink in his painted face looked from one side of the tent to the other takin in all the waiting faces of his guest. With a grand sweeping gesture Harvey extended both arms out wide, palms up like he was presenting the crowd to each other. "My beautiful guest I humbly thank you for coming to our show." After speaking he dipped his head in a shallow bow then brought his hands together in a mighty clap causing some people to jump. His black painted lips pulled up into an unnerving smile as he lifted his head to look at the crowd again. Suddenly the lights all went out and cries of surprise and fright rang out. Only a few seconds had passed before the lights came back on though they no longer casting a warm golden light. The Big Top was now cast in an eerie blue tint, and Harvey was no longer standing alone in the ring. Around him were four of his acrobats preforming on stationary ropes that had be lowered during the blackout. The cold blue lights reflected off the acrobat's sequined uniforms as they spun on their ropes, transforming themselves into living light fixtures.

Pausing for an appropriately long moment to let the eyes of his crowd adjust and take in the new spectacle literally dangling before their eyes Harvey watched the crowds reaction. Once the right amount of time had passed his voice rang out through the Big Top once again. "Tonight I will have the pleasure of sharing with you all the most sensational show in the known universe!" Just as he finished speaking fire erupted from either side of the Big Top. Long tendrils of flames shot into the air it's bright light clashing with the cool blue and creating strange shadows. A pair of firebreathers, one on either side of the tent sent their flames bursting forth again as they marched into the Big Top from previously concealed flaps. The fire breathers lead the march to the center ring, most of the acts and performers in tow. The two lines of performers reached the outer edge of the main ring and began to circle it withershins. As the troupe came into the ring they showed off just a bit for the crowd while Harvey hyped them and the show up.

From behind one of the tent flaps Leslie peered out at his brother, his hand raised up behind him, palm facing out. He waited as his brother gestured and shouted out at the crowd, intense blue eyes focused on Harvey's hands. The hand sign was given, a quick, simple crossing of the middle and ring fingers on his left hand while swinging his arm wide. The rubes would have missed it, and any that did pay that much attention would have thought nothing of it, but for Les it was his signal to send in the next part of the troupe. Clenching the hand he was holding up behind his back into a fist the first wagon driver started out. Unlike the other performers, the animal acts all came from one side, it was much easier to coordinate the animals this way.

Les sent out wagon after wagon into the Big Top, where they made a full circuit around the main ring before exiting from the other side, giving all in attendance a chance to see the beasts behind the bars. They would be brought out again later when it was time for their acts. Turning from the open flap Les looked to his brother's wife and gave her a reassuring smile. She would be the next one to enter the Big Top, announced as the star attraction and Les needed to be sure she and her horses were ready to go. "Everyone ready to go?" He asked his intense blues falling from her lovely face to sweep across the horses giving the entire act a quick once over, while still staying just inside the tent flap to listen for his next queue, which shortly came up. "And the star of our show, the ethereal equine enchantress, our very own, Roselie Sinclair!" Harvey announced his wife and star of their show and Les gave the gorgeous woman a smile and nod. "The crowd awaits."
