It was a dark night in the village when Faelynne's mother woke up. She was an accomplished seer who would occasionally get a sudden vision of something that would happen in the near future. She quickly ran to Faelynne's room and shook her awake, and without explanation she told her to run into the forest and stay there no matter what happened. Faelynne was very confused, but slowly did as she was told. Not even an hour later, a terrible sight crossed her eyes. A massive band of Vampires was attacking her village, and quickly killed each and every person, then proceeded to take all valuables and burn the houses, throwing the corpses into the flames.

Many years later, a young woman woke up in a cold sweat. Well... She was one hundred and fifty years old, but for an elf, that was still young. A full century had passed since that tragic night, but it still could bring chills to the girl.

The records would always say that Faelynne had died in the flames with the rest of the village, and in a sense that was true, for no longer would she ever be called Faelynne, but was now forever to be called Phoenix, for just as the mythical fire bird is reborn from it's own ashes, Phoenix was forced to start a whole new life from the burning of the ashes of her old.

For a century, Phoenix trained under various trainers, feeling a need to hone her skills as a warrior, for her new reason to live was to eradicate all vampires from the face of the earth.

Marie was slow this night. For some reason the shadows around her kept turning and churning, creating illusions and she wondered if a master vampire was near her. Marie, was not a master vampire. She was only the age of one hundred and four. But she did know when she was out strength to one of her own kind. She looked around her and found herself not being able to respond like normal. Her senses were messed up and she knew someone was watching her.

A pale hand came to her head and she breathed in deeply stopping her eyes glowing a blood red as she smelled the blood of another being, an elf. She could already taste the blood. She shook her head and stopped herself. She would not steal the elves blood. even though it sounded like heaven. She hadn't had any food for days. She held her hand to her pain stricken stomach and turned her head to the side as she slowly made her way towards the elf, listening to her breathing, smelling her scent. She was so close. . .

So was the Master Vampire that decided to haunt her with images that were not real.

Phoenix walked through the woods, having heard rumors of vampire activity near her, she felt a need to scope out the whole area and find out what was going on there. She opened her mouth and seemed to lick the air, for it was heavy with the scent of blood and death.

She quickly pulled out her bow and put a silver tipped arrow on the string, preparing to pull back at the first humanoid life form she saw, for surely nobody in their right mind would be within a fifty foot radius of this place in the middle of the night.

Her feet fell silently as she explored the area before she heard a small rustle and the scent of blood got slightly stronger. She pulled back the arrow a little bit and pointed it to the ground, her silver katana at her side in case her bow failed her or the vampire got a bit too close for the missile launcher.

Marie held her hand against her stomach as she blocked out the images from her mind. The master vampire wasn't letting her rest. She was growing closer to the elf and she knew it. Her head stayed lowered and her eyes stayed closed. She knew both the vampire and elf were nearby. Usually she could find the master vampire in an instant, but, he seemed to hide himself perfectly for she could not find him.

Slowly she stepped over leaves and sticks and the rustle was caused she stepped forward again, not thinking about anything. She felt the presence of the elf and her gaze slipped up and fell on the elf that was now holding a bow and arrow up. She looked towards the arrow tip. silver she whispered to herself in thought. She stopped and stared at her. The world around her seemed to be darkened, no bright colors, only grey's and blacks, and a few whites. She wondered why the master vampire clouded her vision.

Unless...he was forcing her to feed. She felt her incisors grow long against her bottom lip and she stared at the elf. Watching her every move, she instinctively stepped forward towards her, not thinking about what she was doing.

Now expecting a sound, Phoenix's ears gave a slight twitch as another sound was made. She quickly lifted up her head and looked over at where it seemed to come from, though she still wasn't quite sure of the exact location of the creature that made it, or even if it was truly a vampire or perhaps just a frightened deer or other woodland animal.

She lifted up the bow and pulled her arrow back to her ear straining her eyes to see the creature that was making all of the noise. "Come out here you abomination" She said under her breath, so low that even she herself, with an elves sensitive hearing, could barely hear it.

Marie felt the need to bit her lip but didn't. She slowly stepped into view. She could here someone whispering in her ear. But there was nothing there. She blinked and tried to focus herself on the elf.

look at her. . .can't you smell her. . .can't you taste her scent. . .do it. . .feed from her. . .drink from her. . .Kill Her! the voices in her head yelled at her. No...I won't... she told them and shook her head again trying to free herself from the buzzing noises.

She looked up at the elf and slowly began to step towards her again.

Phoenix smirked lightly as she saw a beautiful young woman suddenly step into view. She was wondering why she was just looking at her and not charging in to try and kill her, but decided she didn't care. She was going to kill the night creeper. After all, Vampires leech off of the blood of others, making her a pest. She was just pest control.

She aimed her bow right at the neck of the woman and just let it stand there for a moment, expecting for her to move. When she didn't seem to be willing to make a move, she decided that she was just going to take the shot, and if she missed, she had plenty other arrows.

She opened her fingers and let the silver arrow fly, already reaching into her quiver to pull out another arrow just in case.

Thankful to the Vampire's Masters illusions her mind was not working correctly. She blinked and cleared her vision just in time to see the arrow shot towards her. She raised her right hand turned and caught it as she turned around and hissed. The arrow went through her hand, the silver burning what flesh it touched. Her fangs grew long and her eyes began to glow red as she broke the arrow in half and threw the arrow to the ground. She turned towards the elf as she moved forward. She was much faster than a regular elf so it looked like she disappeared and reappeared in a new spot.

She was standing next to her. She growled and knocked the bow from the elves hand. Her hand came forward and pushed grabbed the woman locking her against a tree. Words seemed to fail her as she stared at the elf.

Phoenix smirked lightly as she saw the woman grab the arrow, for it meant that she was likely in for a good fight and quickly launched a second arrow towards her, only for her to leave last second and moved slightly over to her side. She soon felt her bow being thrown from her hands and put up no fight over it, for the time for ranged combat was obviously over.

She soon felt herself being grabbed by her shoulders and moved up against a tree. For just a moment she was still as her breath had been knocked out of her on impact, but she quickly recovered and reached down for her blade, pulling the silver katana out of it's sheath and moving it over to place a cut on her legs, though just enough to make her let go and back up. Not enough to take off the leg. She wanted to enjoy this.

Marie stared at the elf that had shot the arrow at her. She had only wanted enough blood to satisfy her hunger for the moment, to try and regain her sanity and find the vampire that was haunting her thoughts. She narrowed her gaze and hissed as the silver blade sliced her thighs. She stumbled back letting go of the demon. Steam seemed to rise from her thighs as she stared at the cuts in them. She raised her eyes and glared at the woman. "I am not here to fight with you....only to ask something of you.." she told her.

Slowly she straightened her back and shoulders resting her arms at her sides. She would not fight this woman. Even if she couldn't have a donation of her blood. She breathed in the woman's scent and her eyes fluttered down. She smelled as sweet as the fragrance of a meadow of flowers. She slowly opened her eyes. She needed some of that sweet blood. She heard the whispers of the illusions and demons in her mind again and she felt her body shift forward once more.

Phoenix smirked again as the vampiress backed up and looked at her a little questioningly when she said that she didn't want to fight. She quickly shook her head saying, "Yeah, well I DO intend to fight you! Your kind destroyed my old way of life and I can never have that back! My new way of life is to destroy all of your kind!"

Almost in an instant, she had once more picked up her blade and charged at the woman, preparing to slash her from shoulder to hip and kill the abomination in one quick strike.

--Sorry I have not been on for such a long time...please forgive my absence. --

Marie bit her lip and stepped back giving herself enough space to push her hands forward. grabbing the wrist that held the blade she twisted her arm with her body until her arm was pushed up against her back. Marie's arm came up around the woman's throat locking her in place. Her nostrils flared and the woman's scent was brought into her nose and into her lungs. can't you smell her....just do it....drain her....she wishes to kill you... The voices began to whisper in Marie's ears again.

Marie stand behind her...breathing in her scent. She tightened her grip around the woman and smiled slightly. "I could kill you....so easily..." she whispered into her ear, nuzzling the woman's throat, tasting her skin. The voices were starting to get the better of her, and her stomach clenched and heaved in pain.

Gently her fangs raked over the woman's flesh, not enough to even draw blood.

Phoenix gasped as her blade arm was grabbed and was twisted behind her back. She winced slightly in pain and felt her hand slowly open up, the gleaming silver sword slipping and eventually falling to stick into the ground. For a fraction of her second she started to take her free hand and reach for a small dagger in her belt before she felt an arm reaching around her neck and felt herself being pulled into the woman, securing her arm between the woman's stomach and her own back.

She nervously bit her lip when she was told the obvious fact that her ability to live or die was now up to the vampiress, meaning she was at the grace of that which she hated beyond anything else. She swore loudly and thought silently to herself, arguing before shouting out, "Then kill me! Kill me and get it over with! Just know that in killing me, you are killing the last remaining member of an entire village that your kind attacked without provocation!"

Oh her scent was intoxicating. The way her blood rushed through her veins in fear of losing against the vampire that was now holding her life in her hands now. Slightly smiling she tilted her head and pondered on the thought of killing the last of her village. She shook the thoughts from her head just as quickly as they came and raked her fangs over the pulse in her neck that was calling to her.

"If I did that...I would never forgive myself..." she whispered softly. For some reason she didn't want to truly harm this woman, unlike most being she would have taken what she wanted and left them in a pile of heat to rot. But, no, for some reason she couldn't bring herself to drain this woman of her life. Instead, she slowly sank her fangs into the flesh of the woman. A popping sound could be heard from a distance and then a sucking as she slowly began to drink the woman's blood.

The sweet nectar collided with her tongue and her eyes glazed over as she groaned slightly. The pain in her stomach began to fade. This woman...her blood, was the sweetest she had ever tasted.

After she took enough blood to make the woman feel slightly tipsy and dizzy she stopped the blood from exiting her body by pulling her fangs out and healing the pinpricks, leaving behind a strawberry or hickey of some sorts. Usually a vampire would leave behind such a mark to show others that the being was claimed by another. She grinned slightly and licked the wound before whispering softly. "Don't worry...I will take very good care of you..." she nuzzled the woman's fresh wound probably hurting now that the event was over and breathed in her scent.

Marie was much stronger now. She felt warmer than she had before and her skin looked brighter, fresher. She slowly began to release the woman from her hold. It didn't matter to her if the woman struggled or not. She planned to take her, either way, to use her how she wanted, to do with her what she wished. And no one would touch her, not even her old master would take this lovely creature from her.

Phoenix screamed in pain as she felt the woman's teeth pierce her neck. She couldn't believe that this was happening to her. She never would have believed that she would be bitten... She couldn't be defeated... She started breathing very hard as she felt her blood exiting her body. Her vision began to get a bit blurry and her knees started to get a bit weak.

Suddenly, just as quickly as it had begun, it ended and she felt an intense itching as the two holes almost instantly were covered in new skin. She groaned in displeasure and self-hatred for having allowed herself to become captured by one of these terrible creatures that she hated beyond anything else.

When she felt the woman rubbing against her neck, she knew that she had only one more chance for escape and reached into the quiver at her hip pulling out one of her silver tipped arrows. Hoping that the vampiress didn't see was she was doing, she quickly began an attempt to stab the arrow into the woman's leg, planning on twisting it a full half turn afterward to make it almost impossible to remove.

Marie was breathing in the woman's scent again. The intoxicating scent of her blood which caused her fangs to grow against her lip. She held back the urge to pierce the woman's flesh once more. She licked her bottom lip as she listened to the woman's heart beat hearing it thump, thump ,thump quickly against her chest. Briing her hand up so quickly that it could not be seen she raised a brow and leaned forward grabbing the blade. she held it in her hand. A noise could be heard. A slight sizzling, the smell of burning flesh. She bared her fangs.

"I would not do that..." she whispered. The slight sting of the silver against her flesh was almost not noticable because of the fresh blood that was healing and running through her veins. she pulled th eblade from her hand throwing it and tossing into a tree where it would stay. Her hand wrapped around the womans throat her fingers tightening around her blocking most air.

She pulled the woman against her once more, this time roughly most likely shoving the air from the woman's lungs. "I don't want to hurt such beautiful flesh but I will if you struggle any farther." she told her. Her voice held cruelty.

Phoenix smirked as she heard the slight sizzling sound, knowing that even if she is defeated, she had at least injured her opponent, no matter how slight the injury may be. She gasped in wonder as she watched how the woman's projectile went as far into a tree as it did. She had known that vampires got stronger after having just feeding, but as she had never actually seen one feed, she hadn't before known just how much stronger.

She gasped loudly when she felt herself being held much tighter... Or she would have, if she could, but with the way that her throat was also being held, very little sound, and even less air actually was able to escape. Her face quickly turned a deep shade of red, but as a vampire huntress, she of course would not give up no matter what and she shakily started to reach for a second arrow, though when her hand went to grip it, she found she no longer had the strength to pull it out as she had so recently been fed on, in addition to the fact that she couldn't breath.
