It had been a long fun day in the sun for Lacey, she had been out all day with her roommate and best friend Kira. They had driven about two hours to check out this traveling flea market that came to town. Lacey loved shopping at the second-hand stores and thrift shops, she loved the idea of taking something that was just being thrown away and making it into something new. Basically, her entire wardrobe asides from underwear had came from thrift stores.
Today she had went a little crazy, she had spent way too much money and bought a lot of things, really cool things but a lot of things. She was in her room, going through everything when she comes across the watch she had bought. It was so cool, futuristic but also kind of retro in a way. It was black with bright yellow accents around the edges. From what she could tell it worked. It just needed to be set.
She picks it up and begins to mess with it, trying to set the correct time. It wasn't working though. She sighs and sits it down on her nightstand. She figured she could look it up online and figure it out later. For now, she wanted to get ready for bed, then she'd worry about sorting her new (old) clothes and getting them ready for the wash. She grabs a pair of shorts and a tank top and walks over to her window.
She grabs the curtains and begins to close them but stops noticing how quiet it was outside. The trees were seemingly stuck mid-sway from the breeze outside. She looks up to the sky and sees the birds frozen in mid-flight. She was so confused, what was going on? She turns her head and looks towards the watch.
"No." She says softly.
She walks over to the watch and picks it up, bringing it to the window. She presses one of the two buttons and nothing happens. She waits for a moment and then presses the other button, only to see the birds come back to life and the trees swaying in the wind. She bites her lip and presses the button again, watching time itself seemingly stop at her command. Her eyes widen.
"Kira!" She screams before turning and running towards the bathroom they shared.
