Welcome to Synthetic Dawn!

This is a group created by @Kassia and @BennyQ

The idea of this story was based on a few things, superhumans, desert locations, and aliens. Specifically, Area 51-type movies and shows.

We find ourselves in a small desert town, away from big city strife. A town that has been the subject of investigation for several years now due to a strange mineral having leaked into the ground from a crashed alien ship. What powers and abilities did these residents develop?

Now the government is keeping tabs on the residents and enrolling them into a top-secret military program to test and exploit their powers. Will the residents praise the new idea to get these strange power-wielding citizens under control, or will it be a fight to the end?


This a modern time RP, and modern conveniences are still available. ​

1679017205764.png An alien ship crash lands near a small desert town. Due to the collision, a strange new fuel from the engines, powered by some unknown material, seeps into the water supply. Desperate to cover up the crash, the government seals off the area and delivers an all-clear on the event. However, there are noticeable changes in the younger generation, which draw suspicion from neighboring cities.

1679017183281.png Fast forward 18 years later, and the children of this town start to exhibit strange superhuman abilities. Their abilities become uncontrollable and wreak havoc on the town in small but noticeable doses. As word circulates around the neighboring town, the government, who tried to cover up this discovery 18 years ago, begins trying to intercede in the incidents and capture the individuals who exhibit abnormalities.

We will move on to the next SEASONS after completing the Story Inclusions. If you do not get in on the current chapter, don't worry! You will have the opportunity to join the next one. Chapters may be shorter or longer as needed to finish the Story Inclusions.

This RP Is NOT a system RP. There are no dice systems here. Story inclusions are posted to push the story forward. Each chapter may have 1-3 Story inclusions and can be suggested by any of the current active members In the Roleplay.

  1. Post length will be 2 or more paragraphs based on the situation. Past/ present tense( I know some writers switch between the two-- I'm not too worried about it.) 3rd person only.
  2. All characters should be 18 and up in age.
  3. Only Superhuman characters are allowed at this time. Government employees are unable to be created outside of the established characters.
  4. For characters, face claims that are real ( does not need to be an actor/ actress- can be anyone as long as it follows BMR rules) Or hyper-realistic ( realistic-looking people in art.)
  5. 1-2 Characters allowed per member.
  6. The mention of smut is perfectly fine. However, for the sake of everyone in the RP, FADE TO BLACK, will always be requested (This is not a romp fest; we are building a live story. )
  7. Suggestions are always welcome to push the story forward; however, tearing down characters and members will not be allowed. You will be kicked from the story, and your character will effectively be killed off.
  8. Please do feel free to add images (please put spoilers on NSFW images) and music. Create the post you feel comfortable with!
  9. I request that everyone post at least once a week to keep the story flow going. If 2 weeks go by without communication, then that member is placed in a hiatus status on the discord. If another 2 weeks goes by without a post or communication, then I remove them from the RP.

    Everyone always has the option to come back when they are free!​

Awesome, I am gonna give this until March 27th to gain more attention, then will release the official character sheet thread, OOC conversation as we can all plot. That will also allow for enough time for character creation for those interested :)

Are there any guidelines you may have for super powers to keep them appropriate to your setting/game idea?

Also should the powers also have side effects like for instance the character I have begun to build has heightened agility but burns a lot of energy so she basically has to eat around the clock just to keep from passing out with fatigue.

I have updated the character sheet to include side effects. Everyone's character must have a downside to their abilities :) I also added a different look for PERSONALITES and CAREER.

For abilities, let's keep it in the realm of simi- realistic. If it can be explained by science, you will be fine. Since this isn't a fantasy RP there should be some scientific explanation as to why this ability has started for your characters.

How might one know if they are approved to make a character, please?

With regards to the Career field in the character sheet there is a reference to the character's position in the government experiment. Is it intended that player characters begin the game as part of the experiment already, or is there some choice in that regard? E.g. a player character may involved with the experiment willingly or unwillingly, a player character may be under observation only by the government agents involved in the experiment, or a player character maybe thus far undiscovered as far as being an individual with superhuman abilities.

Should further questions such as these be posed in the OOC Chatting thread?

You can PM it to me and Kassia. We can help out with any details or tweaking, as well as answer questions related to your character and/or superpower.

I can answer some of this. There will be no player character that is unknown to the government at the time of the RP. For the experiment, some PCs might be more involved than others. Some might be under surveillance still, others already brought in to begin learning compliance and asset utilization. The level of engagement in the experiment can be discussed between the writers and with myself and Kassia. Let me know if that helps with your query!

As for the Career field, that is dependent on what writers might wish their position and level to be within the experiment, or merely some sort of job they might have in addition to being seniors at high school and such.

This sounds like a lot of fun, so consider my interest expressed! I take it, based on the reply above ^ that if I have a character idea in mind, I should go ahead and send it to you, Benny, or Kassia for approval. Is that correct?
