"Your majesty? Prince Seth, where have you run off to?"

A handmaiden searched desperately through the castle courtyard, looking for the prince. "He's always missing when it's important." She huffed and went into the royal garden.

A young man laid asleep at the base of a grand oak tree in full bloom. He didn't stir, and the only sound he made was the slow, heavy breathing of his sub conscious form. His hair was a medium length, a spiky texture decorating his neatly combed and straightened darkish gray hair. two ring-like gold earrings hung from each of his earlobes, each bearing an inscription in an almost forgotten language. He body was slim, a light muscle tone adding a healthy mass to his figure. A blue tunic adorned his chest with a brown leather sash and belt holding it to his body. A mantle hung behind him, strings and round form-fitting pauldrons holding it to his shoulder and back. Brown pants with knee pauldrons covered his lower frame, along with tall brown adventurous looking leather boots. White tights covered his arms since the sleeves were short, and tight, fingerless leather gloves covered his hands. A sword and shield laid against each other upright against the tree very close to his position.

"Prince Seth, wake up. Come on you sleepy head, you are going to be late."

The man groaned softly and then yawn, stretching his arms out before rising to his feet and stretching the rest of his body out, his eyes opening to reveal a dark blue color in them. "Oh, good morning Nina. I was having such a wonderful nap." The handmaiden sighed and took Seth's hand, who quickly picked up his sword and shield before she dragged him too far away from them. "His majesty the King has been looking for you all morning. Honestly, how could you sleep in on a day like this?" Seth only smiled childishly as the Handmaiden escorted him into the castle. "And what day is this, if I might ask?" Another sigh was heard from her. "Are you still half asleep? Today is the day you are to to be betrothed to a princess. Your birthday is only a few days away."

Princess Elsa had been sitting in the carriage for three hours as her mother blathered on about how excited she was that Elsa was, "finally going to become a grown woman!". Elsa rolled her eyes and stared out the window, hoping to get to their destination as soon as possible. She was going to be betrothed today, as her eighteenth birthday was several days away and in her country, a princess had to get married when she turned eighteen.

Elsa's dark brown hair was piled on top of her head in ringlets, her pale blue gown wide with its extravagant hoop and tight with its corset. She had milky pale skin and honey brown eyes. She was a very pretty girl with many suitors, but none of them interested her. The only plus in this she thought was that she was going to be able to be a queen. She just hoped whoever she was pushed into marrying wasn't horrible.

The carriage finally stopped in front of a large, opulent palace. They had gone to a neighboring country to find a prince who's father knew her own, they were king friends. She sighed and stepped out as the driver opened the door for her. She patted the horses as she walked by them and started up the long path to the castle gate. She was to have lunch with her soon to be betrothed.

"You woke me up for that? Cripes." He sighed almost frustrated as he followed his hand maiden to his room. "Please don't be like that, Prince Seth. The King and Queen have been eagerly awaiting the day you would be married. Come, let us get you out of those battle close and into something more formal."

The hand maiden help in taking off a few of his clothes before concealing herself away as Seth went completely naked for a brief moment before getting dressed in blue silk and pants. The handmaiden returned and wrapped a cloak around the prince's body, tying it at the neck before handing the prince his gloves and boots. "Come, you are expected to have lunch with your betrothed soon. She is probably already waiting for you, Prince Seth."

Elsa had been led around the castle to a grand garden. Her mother had been lead away to meet with the king and queen of this nation and to discuss terms of betrothal. She sat on a chair in front of a large and grandiose table. The servants were bringing out large dishes and setting them out in preparation for the arrival of the prince. There was so much food, how could two people possibly eat that much?

She sighed, smoothing out the wrinkles in her poofy skirt. Her corset was tight and it pressed her breasts up, something she wasn't particularly fond of. It was hot outside, she was growing irritable quickly.

Eventually the prince entered the garden's where his lunch with his future wife will take place. His hand maiden had been rather chatty on reminding the prince about proper etiquette and the like, but soon fell silent and left his side once he was seated.

Before that, he exchanged greetings with Elsa and bowed to her, taking her hand and kissing it just as he was taught to do before he took his seat across from her. He was silent, unable to find a topic to talk about after the initial greeting. He was miserable, but also nervous. He didn't want to be arranged to a complete stranger, but he didn't want to come off as rude and and spoiled. "Nice weather today, isn't it?" He finally said before he began to eat.

He certainly wasn't bad looking, which she was glad about. She wasn't sure how she would feel about him once they got to know eachother a little bit more, but he wasn't haggard of deformed: two very big pluses. He also didn't seem to be overly arrogant, another plus. Many of her suitors had thought more of themselves than they did of her.

She stared at the man who was supposed to be her future husband, trying to think of something to say to him. When he mentioned the weather she couldn't help but giggle, tilting her head back a little bit. She caught herself after a couple of seconds, putting her hand over her mouth in shock. "Oh my, I'm sorry I laughed. It's just...I couldn't think of anything to say except the weather either!" she smiled widely, feeling like the tension was broken, at least a little bit.

"That's usually a good sign." He chuckled as well, taking a sip of the wine in his glass. "It's said that those who think alike get along well. Well, why don't we start off with introductions. My name is Seth Aurion, son of Tyranis Aurion, my father and ruling King of this kingdom. Might I have the pleasure of getting to know your name, princess?" He asked politely in a formal manner.

"Elsa Vandenwaern, daughter of King Torvald Vandenwaern and his wife, the queen Nora." her name was a little bit complicated, and she didn't like to use her last name except when absolutely necessary. It struck her suddenly that she wouldn't have her last name for very long...she would have his. Elsa Aurion...? She had to admit, it didn't sound bad at all.

"Ah yes. My mother is Queen Sarena. I'm sorry, I'm used to giving out only my father's name, since that's what everyone wants to know." He sighed, though kept a smile on his face. "So, what do you think about my home? You won't find a shortage of guards anywhere."

She laughed, "Yes, I noticed...we do not keep so many guards on hand at my home. We have some, yes, but not one at every door." she ate the food set in front of her slowly, it tasted good, which she was glad of. It'd been a long journey here and was hungry. "Your home is very nice. It seems to be a large and airy palace. These gardens are impressive," she was going to talk more about her home, but supposed that it didn't matter.

"Yeah, it does seem empty, but then you haven't seen this place when it's on high alert." He smiled and took another bite from his food. "What is your home like? I'm not allowed out of the palace for anything except to train or accompany my father or mother somewhere. I hardly know what the city looks like except from the window in my room."

She furrowed her brows and leaned forward a little, "Really? That must be horrible! I would hate being cooped up inside all of the time, even with these gardens. I have always loved going to the city and seeing the people." she felt bad for him, having to stay inside all of the time. She hoped she wouldn't be kept like that here as well.

"My home is almost always buzzing with activity. The people coming to speak to my father, suitors coming, dignitaries coming...always something. It's great fun all the time. We have gardens as well, but I think it's more fun to go to the public parks in the city."

"Perhaps you'll take me to go see what the city is like through the common eye? If we're lucky we can leave without letting anyone know." He smiled, a slight grin shown in his smile. "I would love to see it, the city. I'd also be interested in learning more about you myself."

Her eyes widened a little, "You would sneak out!?" she giggled, her face turning a little red, she loved being mischievious like that, but she hadn't thought any other royal would, she figured they'd be stuck up. "That would be fantastic. You'll really love the city."

"I some times skip out on my schooling just so I can go practice sword play more." He grinned, taking one last sip of wine before standing up. "We'll have to change first though. It would cause a commotion if the commoners saw us as we are."

She stood up as well, her heart thumping with the excitement of this. "I didn't bring any commoner clothes with me...but you have plenty of maids, right?" she asked, hoping that he did. She wouldn't want this pending adventure to be ruined because of her.

"Yes, I do. I might be able to find you something. Looks like we're gonna appear as a simple noble man and his maid. We should be quick about this so no one will notice." He took Elsa's hand and lead her through his castle, up a flight of stairs and towards the maids' room. He knocked on the door, expecting no one to be in yet, relieved that no one answered. He took her inside and showed her to the dressers. "Here, there should be a uniform in here for you to wear. Oh, don't forget the change your hair style as well. I'll be back in a jiffy." He smiled and left for his room.

In his room he shed his formal outfit and began to dress himself in what looked to be a slightly altered version of his combat gear. He didn't attach any pieces of armor, and picked out a slightly bigger cape. Making a quick check in the mirror, he left to see how Elsa was doing.

She undressed from her fancy royal gown and pulled on the simple maid's gown. She had always felt so comfortable in simpler clothing. The peasant's clothing were always so much lighter, cooler, and sometimes softer. This dress was a little itchy, but she could deal with it. She kept her petticoat on, as it would be innapropriate for her to take it off. She undid her hair, letting her long dark tresses fall down to her shoulders.

She heard him knock on the door and opened it, smiling at him. Though she was always pretty, the simplicity of the maid's uniform had seemingly made her more so.

"You look...Wonderful." He commented, eyes widen slightly more then normal. "Anyway, take your clothes with you. We'll keep them in my room for now." Leading her outside, they made one last stop to his room to keep her clothes there for the time being before making there way off the palace grounds and into the city. "At last. I would never have imagine being able to leave like this. I would have done so ages ago if my hand-maiden wasn't commanded to follow me everywhere."

She set her clothes in his room, glancing about it quickly as she saw inside of it. It was lavish, as a crown prince's room would be, and yet it wasn't snobbish. She liked it and his style. She walked out of the grounds with him, breathing the fresh air. She could see the city in the near distance, it would probably take them ten minutes to walk there. "I can't imagine being cooped up like that, and having someone follow me around all of the time. I'd grow sick of them," she smiled as they walked down the dirt path towards the city.

"She's not so bad, and there are plenty of things to do in the palace." At last the two reached the city. There were all sorts of people going here and there, carrying various things with them on there way. It was hard to walk without bumping into someone. "Wow, it's a lot crowded then I thought it was. Um..." He paused for a moment before looking at her. "You'll show me around, right?"

"Of course I will. But I promise, it's really not that difficult. Follow the crowd, mainly." she said and grabbed his hand, not thinking that it might have any meaning other than to guide him through the crowd. They made their way away from the main crowd and toward the marketplace where a bevy of goods and foods were on sale. "This is the main market. Everyone comes here to buy meat, vegetables, bread if they don't make it at home. You can buy thread, cloth, almost anything."

"I see. I wonder if that's where all my things come from. I was always told that we at the palace traded with other kingdoms for things. Connecting the two, it makes sense." At least he wasn't brought up in complete isolation. "Everyone looks as if they are doing very well. My father must be doing a better job then I had expected."

She laughed, "This is probably the place. But technically, they do come from all kinds of places. These goods are from all over the world. This is a famous market." she began to look through the nice shawls, wanting to buy one badly, though she knew a maid girl would never have enough money for that.

She turned and looked up at him, "What else would you like to see?"
