Hello,
the most important thing to take from this thread is that while writing explicit scenes might be aight sometimes, there is nothing quite like slow burn, tension and the good old will they/won't they*.
So, if that is not your cup of tea, and you much prefer stories that are full of explicit scenes and action of that kind that you like to jump into immediately in your writing, we are most likely not a writing match. While I can write a mean explicit scene, I think they best serve their purpose when they are firmly set in the story unfolding. Make it make sense, you know?

- tension (of any kind)
- will they/won't they
- forced proximity
- cliches
- arranged marriages/promised to each other
- long-term
- hero x villain dynamic
- enemies to lovers/frenemies
- characters who get shy, jealous, sad, angry, and so on
Think Korean dramas for reference regarding tension/will they/won't they dynamic.
