Hello, thank you for stopping in to give this a glance.
So after being in a couple Kassia groups I have been inspired to form my own, you will see that I am HEAVILY influenced by how she runs her groups and I will be taking a very similar approach to how I run mine. Just nowhere near as pretty because my talents lie elsewhere.
I wanted to mix several of my favorite things into one potential story, sci-fi, exploration, survival in a new place, elements of logistical and base building games and a few more things with there fingers in the mix.
I honestly only have the start and end of this story in mind, everything in the middle will be lovingly created by the group itself.
Idea thus far: Humanity has outgrown the Sol system. Earth has long been over populated, Moon and Mars colonies are beyond capacity, and even the many private satellite cities that orbit above the planet are feeling the strain. With this steadily increasing population crisis Humanity as a whole made the decision to leave their home system to reach further into the stars and find a new homes for the species. In a unified effort Humanity built one-hundred and fifty-seven colonization ships, each one considered a 'seed of humanity". Once these colossal, city sized vessels were completed a call for volunteers was issued. Billions answered the call and loaded onto these ships, knowing full and well this was not only a one way trip, but that there was also the possibility of them never finding a planet to call home.
Once a ship finds a potentially habitable planet an advance party is sent planet side to investigate the viability of establishing a colony there.
Current Events: The Lyonesse discovered a potential planet for colonization and has awoken the crew to put together an advanced party to go planet side.
The Gimmick: So the scale of this idea is huge. The Lyonesse has a quarter billion civilians on it in stasis. There are half a million specialists across the four sections. The advanced landing party will be 2,500 people. This will be the seed to see if civilization can grow or not. If they can, more will be sent down and new 'seeds' will be laid across the planet each building their own city. With all this going on there will be tons of npcs going around. I'm inviting people to play some of those NPCs. The idea I have behind them is for the players that are more interested in building worlds and lore, but still want to be part of a collaborative story. A couple of examples of a NPC role I thought up are a researcher, once a Surveying team comes in with new samples a researcher NPC can find one of the samples and study it, that writer will be able to give the object it's own lore, uses and anything else. For those interested in base/city building we can always use project directors, logistic officers, and city planners to build the base which will become the center of new human city. These NPC characters can interact with the other PC's or have stand alone posts to show the growth of to colony outside of the main focal groups. I just want to have a story that is grown by it's writers regardless of how they choose to contribute. It's all experimental right now so we will see how things go.
Again, taking heavily from Kassia, this will be done in CHAPTERS and have STORY INCLUSIONS to keep the plot moving forward. Once all of the story inclusions are complete we will move to the next chapter. Chapters will generally have 1-3 story inclusions but could possibly have an additional one or two depending on how it would fit in the current chapter. If you don't get in on the current chapter, fret not! There will be a chance to join in on the next one. No this is not a system style rp, there will be no dice rolling or keeping up with stats.

The Lyonesse has it's crew divided into four general sections based on the type of work they will be doing. There can and usually is a bit of overlap in the sections, for example a botanist can be in the science or surveying section depending on if they prefer lab or field work. There is a fifth group that currently will not be included in the story as playable characters, Civilians.
Science: These are the individuals that are tasked with running the labs at the base camp, doing tests, experiments, and generally dissecting the new world to see how it works and if people can survive there, as well as making new innovations along the way.
Security: These individuals are tasked with the safety of the crew both from potential outside threats and internal strife.
Surveying: These individuals are the explorers of the crew, it is their job to go out and search for resources, points of interest, and potential building sites for the expansion of the colony and report back to the base bringing as many samples with them as possible. Many in this section are scientists that are field researchers and do better outside of the lab than in it.
Support: These are the individuals that don't fit into the other sections but are essential. Cooks, constructors, aids, medics, lab techs and the such. -

- Posts should be 2 paragraphs minimum, 3rd person. I can live with a mix of past/presence tense.
- 2 characters max per player (subject to change at my discretion) NPCs are unlimited.
- The mention of smut is cool, acts of affection are fine, heck, even some light petting could be allowed if it has a huge impact on character or plot development, but when it comes to doing the deed, we will FADE TO BLACK. We are here to create a story not hold an orgy. (please note that not every character will have or need a pairing)
- Suggestions are very much welcomed. Most of the story inclusions and the greater happenings of the rp will be decided by the group as a whole so feel free to speak up on any ideas you may have. Not all will be used naturally, but I think a big part of the fun of a group is the sharing of ideas to make the story grow.
- Bullying will not be tolerated. I don't mind if there are character rivalries in the story in fact I love conflict, but outside of the story I will not accept the tearing down of a member, their character, how they write or any ideas they may present. If you don't like something, there are tactful ways of saying so without being a raging cockface. Anyone found doing this will immediately be removed from the group.
- In addition to bullying, being a consistent drain on the groups moral with constant negativity, snide remarks, ignoring what others have posted, continually not complying with time frames, and just being a PITA in general will be removed from the group
- As of right now, I will be implementing a ONCE A WEEK posting requirement. You can post more often if you want and it fits, but to keep the story flowing I do require at least one post a week from active members. After two weeks of silence you will be put on a temporary hiatus. After a month of no contact you will be removed from the group. Exceptions will be made on a case by case bases as I am very aware that life does in fact happen and things will come up. If you let me know you will not be able to get out a reply in the week time frame I can work with that. Communication is key. If it does become a problem with asking for a time extension over and over for the same player I will most likely end up removing them from the group as it would unfair for the whole group to have to keep waiting for one player.
