Hey there, and thanks for swinging by my request thread! As you’ll probably notice, I am a new member here, but I’m not new to roleplaying. I’ll do my best to keep the basics brief, as I’d much rather get to the good stuff. Overall, I think I’m a fairly friendly player and a competent writing partner - and hopefully, you’ll agree on both accounts!
What I Offer:
What I’m looking for:
RP Specifics:
Original Idea(s): Okay, bear with me here, and if you’ve stuck around this far, kudos to you. A big craving I’ve been having recently involves a not-so-distant future set in an alternate timeline. At some point in the past, Earth experienced an event typically referred to as ‘The Convergence,’ where several realities collapsed in on one another, resulting in mythological creatures/species entering our own existence - and sparking a near catastrophic war that almost resulted in the destruction of both sides. Ultimately, humanity proved to be the technical victor through a sheer numbers (and willingness to scorch earth,) game, resulting in the Otherkind (the commonly used term for the vast variety of non-humans,) surrendering and entering a very unstable peace treaty that largely saw them diminished to second-class citizens as time passed.
Essentially picture DnD races and themes set in a more fantasy-inspired Chicago, and you have a good idea of what I’m thinking.
As part of the treaty, mankind created a landmass for the Otherkind where they founded a massive super-city, dubbed Pandora by humanity - for obvious reasons. The super-city was divided into districts, often based on the previous realms the various races originated from, such as the Deep District for those whose origins were based in the Underdark, and High Garden, for the Summer Fae and those more nature inclined. As the centuries passed and they began to modernize, human oppression became more commonplace, given that the Otherkind were only allowed some passing semblance of self-governance, giving rise to five families that seized power within the districts and for better or worse became a form of shadow government. Tolerated (and feared,) by the human government, the foundation of this powerbase shaped the city for several hundred years, with the mindset that it was better for the Otherkind to bicker amongst themselves than focus on a common adversary - that is, until now.
Catching us up to the “current” year, one of the patriarchs has been murdered, a brutal act strictly forbidden by the tenuous peace held between the families, and tensions are rising. The RP will begin at this point, and my goal is to create almost a campaign-like story set within this premise.
MC, a human male, is a private investigator, professional consultant, and one of the few humans with a working relationship with the Otherkind. Doing so has ostracized him from the small human population living and working in Pandora, but has also carved out a niche professional life with unique perspectives and dangers. As such, MC is called in by the Police to consult on the murder - already suspicious that the mortal police are involved at all - and begins to unravel a dangerous plot that threatens to shatter what little peace remains between mortals and their inhuman counterparts.
So! Now we get to YC! In this scenario, I’m completely open to suggestions, and I prefer to have my partner have complete creative control over the said character. My one stipulation is that I would prefer YC to be a member of the Otherkind, or non-human race, but how far you go down that rabbit hole is completely up to you. Again, any DnD race is completely acceptable, but you can work with something more homebrew if you like and can range from as simple as some form of Elf, to something more exotic, like a Gorgon, Fae, Dragonkin, et al. I’d like to have a discussion around it, of course, but I’m definitely open!
Some possible scenarios:
Obviously, these are just off-the-cuff ideas, so anything you have, I’m more than willing to entertain! I do have a significant chunk of story-beat ideas that I’m happy to share, and nothing is pre-planned to the point of being inflexible, so if this idea interests you, hit me up! Please. For the love of God, I’ll pay you.
As for other “original” ideas:
Fandoms: Again, with a preference for OC, but I’m still open to discussions!
Anyway, thanks for checking me out, I appreciate any interest, and hope to hear from some interested parties!
What I Offer:
- A stable adult partner. I work full-time, as many of you likely do, and understand that real-life stuff happens. I have a mortgage, pets, and RL friends. I play DnD on Wednesdays and will be less active that night. Understandably, I’m cool with whatever schedule you keep!
- Multi-paragraph and literate. My post frequency will largely vary based on what’s happening in the RP, but I focus on quality, detail, and character expression/interaction. I like fun. I like a living, breathing world with lots of side stuff, world-building, and immersion!
- Enthusiasm! I get mega-stoked on things I like and tend to express it. I dislike one-sided conversations and actively participate in planning and the like, whatever form that may take.
- Communication is key, and I typically frequently update my partners on when they can expect a post, if I’m busy, or if I’ve hit a block. I’m ghost friendly, and won’t hold it against you, but I prefer to be transparent if life or interests go in a different direction. As a result, I’ll also only typically entertain one or two RP’s at a time, so I don’t overcommit.
- I am absolutely OOC-friendly, including chatter, memes, and shitposting. I’m also pretty dang versed in OOC etiquette, so you won’t get any weirdness from me. While I’m pretty open and don’t mind talking about myself (if asked, of course,) I’m good with boundaries and don’t have any expectations of reciprocity.
What I’m looking for:
- Rad writing partners who want to write rad stories. As mentioned, I do have a preference for long-term, with a focus on story over smut. To clarify I do want smut, but I want smut with a narrative. That’s literally it!
RP Specifics:
- Literate, third-person perspective.
- I would rather die than use Discord as a medium. I am a-okay with it for OOC chatter if you’d like, but I prefer the forums (be it a thread or PM,) or even Google docs for the RP itself. I don’t like character limits, and I’m not a big fan of the formatting in Discord.
- I have a strong preference for OC, even in fandom settings. There are some exceptions, but they are very few and far between, and I’m not real big on playing canonically established characters. Sorry!
- If you like to use face claims and the like, that is a-okay with me. I don’t require it, and I typically only bother with it if my partner enjoys it.
- It’s actually a very small, basic net. If you don’t see something in there, feel free to ask. I mainly just kept it to broad strokes with some specific preferences, but it’s not super detailed. I like more things than I don’t!

So! Now we get to YC! In this scenario, I’m completely open to suggestions, and I prefer to have my partner have complete creative control over the said character. Some possible scenarios:
- The daughter of the slain patriarch, or a rival family. Her involvement in the case and MC’s subsequent follow-up with her are a given.
- YC is a working girl - be it a server, escort, or entertainer - and MC, investigating the scene, finds evidence of hers left behind. MC and YC could already have some form of established relationship in this scenario - does he know her from a club? Has he attended an event where she’s worked? If she’s an escort, has he hired her before? Either way, he tracks her down to find out why she was there, and they become involved in something much larger - but it also begs the question - Is she complicit? A witness? THE ASSASSIN? MYSTERY AND INTRIGUE.
- Unwilling to let humans investigate this alone, YC is a member of one of the houses - either a closer, a diplomat, or something in the middle - and both characters wind up working together, even if somewhat reluctantly, to work out what happened. The more intimidating YC is for this scenario, the better.

As for other “original” ideas:
- Zombie Apocalypse (Naturally)
- Literally, anything involving mid to high-level fantasy, and a Monster/Demi-Human x Human pairing. I’m happy to play on either side!
- I’m actually pretty dry on other ideas, and it’s late, and I’m weak and tired. I’m so sorry. I’m open to a lot of stuff, so if I sound great, but maybe not my ideas, still hit me up! I’m not crazy about slice-of-life RP, or anything just kinda…normal. Fantasy, Sci-Fi, all that I’m down for! I play a good amount of DnD, and can 100% work in that medium.
Fandoms: Again, with a preference for OC, but I’m still open to discussions!
- Star Wars. My first real hyper-fixation. I’m comfortable playing Anakin/Vader, Kylo, and Djarin. As far as original ideas go, I would dig a Bounty Hunter (Mandolorian, c’mon) x Jedi/Sith pairing, or an Imperial Agent (Likely Chiss) x Jedi/Sith pairing. Either way, most of my ideas center around opposing or unlikely pairings, such as the Hunter and his target, Agent/Smuggler, etc, etc.
- Supernatural.
- The Walking Dead.
- The Boys.
- Bloodborne. I have a massive thing for dark, gothic, cosmic horror. I’m not 100% how we would pull it off, but my God, I’d make it work.
- Skyrim.
- Warcraft.
- Other stuff?? I will deffo add more as I think of it, but again, it is late, and god, Anakin, I’m so weak.
Anyway, thanks for checking me out, I appreciate any interest, and hope to hear from some interested parties!
