History
There are two histories of Easthollow, the truth and the one that adventurers learn of in order to get them to visit.
166 years ago The King of Fairold gave the titles and lands surrounding Castle Teppic to [insert names here] as a reward for defeating the dragon Hellabourne and rescuing his daughter in the process. This was seen as a great gift but the heroes soon learned that the reward was a poisoned chalice. Castle Teppic was in a terrible state of disrepair, there were breaches in all the walls, the roof of the Great Hall had collapsed, in short the castle was a money pit. Having been given ownership the heroes would have to sink every gold piece they had ever earned from their years of adventuring to make the castle even remotely habitable. However the surrounding lands didn't have much of an economy, so it was unlikely that they would ever get their money back.
The heroes were left in an impossible choice;, restore the castle and lose everything they'd worked for or give up the titles and have the crown put bounties on their heads. They needed a third option.
Places of Interest
The Rat Hole - The second best of Easthollow's two taverns. From the outside it looks like it would double as an outhouse that would blow over in a stiff breeze, from the inside it doesn't look much better.
The Honey Pot - The best tavern in Easthollow.
Drakenhold Castle - Formerly Castle Teppic
The Smithy
The village of Westhollow - The village appears on old maps and there is a sign in the middle of Easthollow that points to Westhollow, although the sign points to the North. Anyone looking for Westhollow won't be able to find it, not even ruins. It's entirely possible that Westhollow never existed.
Notable People
The founding fathers
Illusionist
Summoner - either a mage or cleric who was particularly adept at summoning and ensnaring other worldly beings
Necromancer
Techno-mage
Technology
Easthollow has any number of magic devices that double for modern day appliances:
Every home comes with it's own mirror that doubles as a communications device that links to the mirrors in the village, known as the Hollownet.
While it might look to outsiders that the villages water needs are served by a single well, all the homes have indoor water provided by a series of metal pipes that are connected to a water elemental.
Waste is taken away from the homes by a series of different pipes that eventually connect to a bag of infinite holding, or at least they hope it's infinite.
