Covert Revulsion

The kingdom was at a time of sincerity and calmness. The recent War had ended two years ago, and everyone was at ease going about their routines. There was no famine, plague, and may the Lord himself bid away such evilness that posed a threat to the human population. Disease wasn't something uncommon in any parts, but to her relief, Lady Anna De Leon had never been afflicted with such diseases, neither her family. She dwelled within a large, prosperous estate. Foliage radiated underneath the sun, setting up a gentle and lovely aroma of roses, jasmine, and lavender mixed into the light, spring wind. The house was large, three stories with a few towers leading to hidden rooms. The house often resembled a small castle, which many guests admired at this. It provided many rooms for those choosing to visit. Anna recognized every single room since she enjoyed occupying them from time to time, besides her own bedroom.

Yet, when she wasn't inside, she occupied herself with forms of recreation. Other then reading, learning from her tutor, and failing to accomplish a major skill in embroidery. Which to her disdain was found mandatory for any Lady of her age of seventeen. She managed to sneak upon horseback, she admired the loveliness of mother nature herself, traveling through the forest considered their grounds. Anna enjoyed identifying such foliage as flowers and trees. Her passion not only lay with nature, but with dancing as well. What captivated her the most had to be the dances she had seen gypsy women dance to. Anna longed to learn how to dance in such way, hips moving in such a sensual, captivating way that a traveling band had taught her, and she had successfully learned.

Her countenance was one she admitted to thanking her deceased mother and her living father. She had oval shaped face, a slim nose, thin brow, finely shaped lips of pink, with eyes of a gentle, warm hazel. Her tresses were a dark brown and reached just below her shoulder. She wore a faint yellow colored dress, which was easy to move with, but lovely at the same time. She was spending her time this noon outside under the shade of the Ash tree's that grew. She enjoyed the fresh air, petting a hound of her father that lay at her feet. In all honestly, she disliked the restriction in today's society for women, but to her relief, her father allowed her to have her own independence, finding that a strong woman would bear strong children. It amused her that she had such a father as he, but she was ever so thankful. Yet, one thing he disapproved of, was her finding interest in anyone but the Duke she was promised too.

Jake growled as he wandered outside the castle with his black armor shining in the sun. Unlike the other knights Jake was born into a royal bloodline or anything like that. No... Jake was originally a legendary warrior from a tribe of Barbarians from an island known as Jund. A land where it was survival of the fittest in harsh swamps with Viashino warriors and fiery volcanoes with the mighty dragons and the always dangerous jungles teeming with poisonous plants and insects. How was Jake famous? Well in his tribe there was a coming of age ceremony known as the Dark Climb. In this barbaric ritual a child at the age of 10 must climb a volcanoe unarmed and retreive a shard of obsidian in which their weapon will be forged from. Fours months pass and his tribe called Jake dead and moved their village. However Jake was able to track them down and arrived in the village carrying a baby Hellkite, the most dangerous of dragons, with a massive shard of Obsidian still lodged in it's throat. The shard was forged into an extremly sharp Great Sword which Jake affectionately calls Hellkite.

Years passed and his village allied themselves with a king De Leon in exchange for greater weapons. Of course it was hard for Jake to start killing people rather than dragons, goblins, insects and Viashino. After the war however the village was slain by what appeared to be an undead dragon. Jake is the last remaining member of his tribe and nows fights to protect King De Leon and his family. But the barbaric knight has grown somewhat fond of the one known as Lady Anna. She was always beautiful and so full of life whenever Jake saw her. He didnt want to admit but he kinda fell for her.
"IT would never work out... I am just a savage... and she is royalty..." Jake told himself as he stood in a clearing near the forest as he began to train with his Hellkite sword. At a young age the warrior was trained in an art form known as Ungky kla Coroco which literally means 'Fight like a Crocodile'. Most ofJake's moves and techqniues were based off the Crocodilian Viashino that lurked in the swamps of Jund. As he trained his long black braids danced in the air with his movement as his feirce green eyes were filled with determination.

Anna had spent her time outside, gazing up to the clear sky as she thought of none other, then Jake, her knight. She felt her heart grow with warmth at the thought of him. But it was difficult to have her see him, since she was kept under watch. Though at night seemed to be the only time that may really speak to each other. She sighed, standing up and beginning to walk, weaving in and out of the trees.

Jake sighed as he heard some rustling near the bushes. Even with the war over people still wanted to test their strength against Jake who had become infamous for slaying exactly one thousand soldiers by himself. Suddenly a group of rogues appeared near Jake with daggers, axes and the like all ready to strike the Barbarian Knight.
"Hmph... hardly worth my time..." Jake growled as one of the rogues charged towards him only to be sliced in half by Jake's obsidian sword. Jake growled as he glared at the others and in only 2 minutes Jake had slain all of them ruthlessly.
"I will not allow you to harm the peace in the kingdom..." Jake sighed as he cleaned off his sword.

Almost as soon as she was prepared to further a bit of her exploration, she heard the unwanted shout of her nurse who stood by the doorway to her house. "Miss! It's time to come inside!" she called, which made Anna want to glare at the middle aged woman and refuse to go inside to try and perfect her skills in embroidery which she know very well she would fail to. She turned and sighed, making her way inside as she walked towards the embroidery room. She was aware of the slightly fake smiles on their lips. She wordlessly sat, and merely set to work.

After disposing of the bodies Jake made his way towards the castle and accidentally walked into the embroidery room. Jake looked to see the Anna, the one who made Jake's heart ache every time he saw her.
"Greetings Lady Anna." Jake said to her "Sorry if I intruded on anything... I was just wandering around the place."

Anna looked up immediately upon hearing someone enter. She was surprised to see it was Jake. He was a knight nd all, so she didn't expect to see him in here. "Oh, not at all," she replied to him, smiling faintly at him. "I did plan on leaving though," she mentioned, smiling at the maids who were about to protest. Anna casually walked out the room, closing the door and exhaling a sigh of relief.

Jake sighed following her out of the room aswell.
"I hear... your father had set you up to be married to a duke..." Jake told Anna although it did kind of pain him a bit.

"Yes... he did," she replied, a bit hesitant as she looked up at Jake. "I don't want to though..." she whispered, a slight frown on her lips as she gazed up at him. It pained her to tell him this, she did care for him after all..
