Casstown | 8 a.m.

Agdamastor stood before the tall glass windows of his hotel room, looking out into Casstown's landscape. His broad shoulders cast a large shadow into the room as the morning light hit his sunkissed skin. For someone his age, the man's strong physique and glowing skin were a matter of envy for both men and women, older and younger than him. His relaxed, yet serious face took in the panoramic view of the city below, watching the skyscrapers that spread throughout it and vividly imagining how loud the busy streets sounded with the many cars slowly walking the traffic. This scene, this photograph before his eyes would make for a wonderful book introduction, he thought. But any interesting story needed more than just beautiful scenery. It also required interesting, engaging characters.

That was something that Agdamastor thought about a lot. Stories, plots, narratives, characters, backgrounds... It fascinated him to consider how any simple event could be either incredibly haphazard or surprisingly deterministic in someone's life.

Just a few moments before, Agdamastor had received a text message from someone he was supposed to meet with that night but wouldn't be able to make it anymore. Now, he had the entire day for himself, in a city three hundred miles away from home. The gentleman sighed. What to do? Although the prospect of simply wandering around aimlessly was a tempting one, he knew that by doing so, once most of the day had gone by he would be left unsatisfied. Such endeavors were much better received when they were made into an interim situation.

Turning around, the tall male swept the room with his light blue eyes. It was a beautiful, ample space. Certainly larger than any single guest would require to feel comfortable for a weekend. One could say, it felt actually empty when being there by oneself. Of course, that wasn't due to poor furnishing and decoration. There was a large bed with many thick and soft pillows, a living space with two comfortable couches and a TV, and an additional sitting area by the window, not to mention the exquisite bathroom. What made the room feel hollow was its lack of identity; like a freshly bought notebook hanging on a shelf. It was, by all means, simply a luxurious hotel room with no personal touch to it. It lacked any substance to make one feel that they were where they belonged.

Unfortunately, Agdamastor had very limited options on how to address that issue then and there. But nonetheless, he leisurely walked to his computer that rested folded and closed on the stone coffee table. He had come to Casstown in search of a story, but there was nothing forcing him to restrict himself to a single, pre-established one. With only a few, practiced clicks, his web browser glowed with the dark mode of a site that, in contrast to the room he was in, made him feel like he was exactly where he was meant to be.

At the very top of his computer screen, the logo read "Lady D's High-End Companions".

That slice of reality that the website represented had quickly grown over the years into a bigger part of Agdamastor's life. So much so, that he was one of the very few carrying a Platinum badge on his profile. That insignia represented the highest level a user could achieve and could only be earned once they had been personally vetted by the Lady D herself. And of course, the head of the entire business only put herself through all that trouble for the clientele that was the biggest expenders and best evaluated by all her girls. What all that meant for Agdamastor was that he instantly had the credence that he was real, decent, and trustworthy. Something especially handy when approaching new escorts or making extravagant requests; both things that were not unusual for him.

As Casstown was a big metropole, the list of available escorts was generously long and eclectic, so Agdamastor took his sweet time browsing through it and delving deeper into a few profiles.

There were days like today when the man would feel bothered by how superficial all of the information he found in the numerous escorts' profiles was. Having read through literally hundreds of such "about me" sections, they all now blurred into a single formless mass for him. He didn't blame the authors, as he knew it was a business and as such, it followed a few guidelines, either imposed or organic. Yet he couldn't help but click his tongue in annoyance after reading for the fifth time in a row about someone's list of qualities with any real substance to it.

Closing his eyes for a second, leaning back on the couch, and inhaling deeply as he would frequently do when searching all the corners of his mind for an interesting idea, Agdamastor tried to imagine himself a few hours in the future. What would be an appealing night out that day? Once there, what would he like to encounter staring right back at him? As he began to lose himself in that trail of thought in midst of the absolute quietness of his hotel room, different images started to respond to his imagination. He found himself sitting in a dark saloon where music was just loud enough to muffle other patrons' conversations. Before him, someone smiled. He saw the contrast between her wanting to be there and better fitting in another place. It was so subtle. The way she dressed, her posture, her velvety voice. It all carried unquestionable finesse. And yet, he saw it at the very back of her bright eyes. A trembling, quivering restlessness as if she knew the answer but not the question.

Snapping his own blue eyes back to reality, Agdamastor resumed his scrolling now looking for someone to fit that exact description. Or at least someone that got close to it. And although it was impossible to see any trembling and flickering in a still picture, he felt it.

Jessica...

Agdamastor smiled, looking at her picture montage and seeing five different people in there. Each of them a carefully crafted character, he was sure. But which ones were due to circumstance, and which one was created by will?

He decided to message her and his practiced fingers worked quickly and without much thinking.
Agdamastor said:
Good morning,
I hope you are doing well, Jessica. My name is Adam, and I have gotten quite infatuated with your profile. I would love for an opportunity to spend some time with you.
I am looking for an overnight companion for tonight, as I am spending the weekend in Casstown for work. Are you available by any chance?
An acquaintance recommended Rudy's Piano Bar, but I will take your suggestions into consideration if you happen to know somewhere else we can have privacy, a nice conversation, delicious snacks, and a drink. I'm looking for someone engaging and interested in the nuances of the world, as few things bring me more joy than quality time and meaningful conversations.
After we have gotten some good laughs out of our system, I would like to take you to the Royal Palace Hotel with me, where I am staying, for something more intimate. Assuming that all of your boundaries and preferences are respected, which I am keen on doing, I am looking for someone docile and open to exploring. I find it very appealing when a woman knows to push back and create the right amount of tension, yet craves to give in.
I am looking forward to hearing back from you,
Agdamastor.

There was a picture of Agdamastor on his profile as well as some other additional information that Jessica would have easy access to. The man was 45 years old, 6'4", and a non-smoker. There were also a handful of positive reviews left anonymously by others of Lady D's Escorts he had hired previously. All things considered, there was no reason for her to refuse his request.

Casstown | 1115am

The robust city of Casstown was America's very own melting pot. Diversity found in the cultures, ethnicities, races, and religions – coming together to form its very core. Unlike its surrounding boroughs, downtown carried everything concerning entertainment and restaurants, including being home to the city's prime real estate area. Long stretches of building reached into the sky, overlooking the city's most popular park and shopping district. A true urban city where one could truly become inspired in search of themselves… as well as becoming lost, which was easy to do in the vast sea of people.

These details made Casstown perfect for anyone seeking privacy and discreetness. Perfect for an escort; perfect for Jessica.

Given her career, protecting her identity was top priority. Since she became an agent for Lady D's High-End Companions, the threat of encountering unsafe clients was low. The company primarily catered to wealthy prospects. And while she had a handful of longstanding clientele, they, too, preferred more discreet encounters. Personal lives rarely crossed business, and she'd grown to learn each client's desires and boundaries. Some clients she'd developed rather strong bonds; however, she continued to maintain her own set of rules and standards.
  • She'd never give out her personal cell phone number – business only
  • Last name to be given for traveling, and only after one month's worth of dates
  • Personal address to stay private – no exceptions
  • No emotional attachment
So far, she'd been safe, but the rules weren't foolproof. Occasionally, there'd be a client requesting private details or becoming too attached. Incessant messaging, demanding all appointment times, blatant jealously of other clients. When that would happen, the company would intervene, and actions ensued. Most of her clients were wonderful, and they always respected her wishes as she did theirs. Overall, both Casstown and her career had been very good to her.

Lunch hour in downtown Casstown transformed the already densely populated streets and sidewalks into a cluster of vehicles and bodies. Cars cut off traffic, slipping in and out of lanes, horns blared. Jessica had just left a dance class, a small studio she frequented to help ease her stress. The crowd of pedestrians pushed against her at the walk light, causing her to clutch her tote bag closely. She felt engulfed by both the people and the oversized sweater she slipped on over her slight frame. The light turned, and she fell in step with the others, scurrying along the crosswalk. A short walk down the street placed her in front of her favorite café, Phoebe's Coffeehouse.

Upon squeezing through the entryway, the aromatic scent of espresso and freshly ground coffee greeted her. After putting in her order, she made her way to the back of the bistro with her Cortado, finding a seat.

Jessica settled herself into the hard metal chair and withdrew her laptop. She'd recently spent several days with one of her established clients. Following lengthy sessions, she usually took a few days' time for herself and was nearing the end of the long stretch, but she'd received a few email notifications for work. She always responded, regardless of schedule conflicts. So, she fired up her laptop and sipped on the espresso, watching the other customers while it booted.

Aside from quieted chatter amongst some scattered customers and the gentle hum of background music, Phoebe's Coffeehouse was fairly quiet. A solitary person sat on the opposite side of the café, cupping his coffee between his palms. There was a rather lonesome look about him, and she wondered, briefly, if that's how she looked in moments like this. When she was alone without her clients to entertain.

The laptop screen lit up and drew her attention back to business. Without even sitting down her espresso glass, she navigated to her email and scrolled through the various inquiries. Before responding, she read the profiles. She wasn't one to be picky or judge the suiters. Mostly, she read through the reviews exchanged between escorts. She replied to a few emails, apologetically explaining her lack of current availability.

One profile, however, gave her pause. The man had a Platinum badge on his profile in addition to a few positive reviews. Not to mention, he was handsome. The black and white profile picture didn't reveal much by way of physical attributes. Not his hair color, eye color, or overall build. But there was an intensity and mystery about him and the way he looked into the camera. Something about him made her want to meet him, to know him and his story. Just… something.

"Adam…" Jessica whispered to herself. Then she read back over his message. After she took one last sip of her espresso, she sat the small glass onto the table, and typed.

Jessica said:
Good afternoon, Adam!

Sorry for the delay, I've had quite the busy morning. I'm doing very well, and I appreciate your kind words. Thank you! I hope you've had a good morning.

I am available overnight, and I'd love to join you for the evening. Rudy's Piano Bar is a perfect place. There's usually live music, though not overbearing. The service is great, and if you enjoy a nice cocktail or glass of wine, the bar has an excellent selection. I can't say I'm too familiar with the food there, so that'll be something we can explore together.

As for the rest of the evening, we shouldn't have any concerns. I'm openminded, and I'm willing to explore most things as long as safety is a priority for the both of us.

I will meet you there at 8pm. I'll be waiting for you at the bar.

Can't wait to see you,

Jessica

Jessica sent the message and switched back over to Adam's profile. She recalled his email, and how he mentioned seeking a woman who craved giving in. Her experience in escorting led her to play out a few scenarios in her mind. All of which made heat creep up her neck and across her face. Instead of allowing herself to continue staring and thinking about what kind of tension he was referring to, she closed her laptop and tucked it away in her bag.

Rudy's Piano Bar was quite the underappreciated gem in Casstown. Typically, it wasn't featured as a tourist attraction; most frequenters were locals, leaving it to feel more intimate than most other surrounding venues.

From the details of Adam's message, Jessica gathered she'd be leaving Rudy's with him. So, she opted for a chauffeured service to the piano bar. The sleek black vehicle parked outside the entrance, and the doorman helped her to slide out of the car. She'd decided on a black cocktail dress that cut a couple inches above her knees with a modest slit up her left leg. The straps fell down her shoulders leading way to the exposed shelf of her breasts. She paired it with matching black heels. Long, silky auburn colored hair fell along her back and shoulders in a gentle wave, framing the soft features of her face. The man held open the door to Rudy's as Jessica walked inside, the fitted dress outlined the silhouette of her curves with each movement.

Once the door opened, smooth piano music played in the background. The lighting throughout the piano bar was soft and elegantly dimmed, and a small candle flickered gently on each table. The scent was a warm vanilla that almost matched the subtle hint of her perfume. Jessica informed the hostess she was meeting someone and was moved to the bar just as she had informed Adam.

Jessica sat on one of the plush cushioned bar stools and laid her clutch onto the long, granite counter. She crossed her legs then rested her hands in her lap until greeted by the barman.

The man wore a white, long-sleeved button up and black trousers. His nametag read 'Callen'. Jessica recognized him, as she'd been to Rudy's often enough she nearly recognized everyone there. "Good evening, miss. Would you like to start off with a drink?"

Jessica considered waiting, not sure if Adam would consider her ordering before his arrival to be disrespectful. However, it was a good fifteen minutes before the discussed meeting time. So, she offered the man a warm smile and nodded, "Yes, please. I'd like a glass of your red wine. How about your cabernet?"

He returned the smile. "Good choice." He moved to fetch the wine, returning soon after.

"Thank you, Callen." Jessica lightly swirled the contents of the glass and brought it to her lips for a sip. She wasn't nervous, but excited. She'd always welcomed meeting a new client. Although, something about the night made her fidget with her necklace, turning the thin gold chain between her fingers as she often did to occupy her hands when she was anxious. But she shook it off and sat straighter in her seat. Then, she shifted on the stool and positioned herself towards the piano near the back of the room. Listening and waiting for Adam's arrival.

Agdamastor was ten minutes early when he greeted the doorman at Rudy's Piano Bar and walked past the set of double doors into the building. Stopping a few steps in, the tall gentleman had a look around, sharp blue eyes carefully scanning his surroundings. Taking in what he could see one thing at a time, with the calmness and comfort of someone who knew exactly where they should be and why. First, there was the music. But before he could fully savor it, the sweet scent of vanilla inflated his lungs. When the hostess came and Adam was directed to the bar, it was all too simple to spot Jessica sitting there, watching as the male in the far corner of the bar gently worked the piano keys. A thin smile amused the man's lips as he considered how her auburn hair blended in with Rudy's warm colors.

Without dwelling on that thought for long, Agdamastor resumed his stride and came to stop a stool away from Jessica, partially blocking her view of the musician. However, the male addressed the barman first. "Good evening, sir. Would you like to start off with a drink?"

"Yes," Agdamastor's baritone voice reverberated over the music. "I will have a glass of red wine, please. Same as the lady."

There were both an innocent smile and a commanding tone to the gentleman's words; an opulence without arrogance. Then, as Callen acknowledged the order and moved away to prepare it, Agdamastor turned his face just enough so he could glance at Jessica's face: "I heard this place has an excellent wine selection," he commented unconcernedly. It was so casual that, had the redhead not recognized him yet, it wouldn't be entirely clear whether he was actually attempting to engage in conversation or just trying to fill the void between them before grabbing his drink and moving to one of the tables.

Despite the not-great quality of his picture on Lady D's High End Companions website, the image was faithful to the man's appearance. He had the same hair; both in quantity and in style. The same beard. The same wrinkles around his face. Agdamastor was dressed casually in a black shirt with the top button left open and its long sleeves rolled up to his elbows, exposing thick, strong, forearms. His trousers were cream-gray and perfectly fitted his form, drawing a satisfactory curve around his glutes. A heavy, golden watch hugged his left wrist and, for someone like Jessica, who made a living entertaining patrons of the high society, a simple glance at the piece should be enough to realize that the item was likely more valuable than an entire apartment. The shoes were shiny and deep brown; large, about twice the size of the female's feet, same for the size of his hands.

After having spent as long as Agdamastor did enjoying the company of all manner of exquisite beauties, the usual handshaking introduction grew a little dull. For him, the whole escorting thing was about crafting a pleasurable experience, not simply consuming a product. And so, he found it more enjoyable the less robotic an encounter could be. It was not because they knew exactly why they were there that they had to follow an exact script as well.

The gentleman's blue eyes met the redhead's necklace as he turned his face another inch toward her. He stared at it for just long enough, keeping his sight from wandering any lower. Then the barman was back with his glass of wine, which Agdamastor thanked him for before swirling it and having a sip. "Hmm!" He hummed in approval, raising his brows for a second and then raising his glass toward Jessica ever so slightly as if in soundless cheers. "You have good taste. miss."
