She'd not known who he was, other than he was a dragon and his intent had been to make it to the platform where others of his kind sat, waiting for the events to begin. His name had long been forgotten and had he told her, she would have merely stared at him blankly. What she knew was there was something there and she couldn't let him kill himself. It wasn't that she doubted him, but with so many of his kind on the rise, he'd die one way or another... He allowed her to drag him into the shadows, just in time as guards went rushing by. A shaky breath left her and she frowned up at him. Her lovely blue eyes narrowed, she said, "Liar." There was a slight tone to that word, an accusation. It didn't occur to her that he didn't know what that bond was, though it did sting that the key to her freedom was no different than her own family.
"Because you'd not live to see tomorrow.." Her voice now held something else.. hurt. Squaring her shoulders she met his eyes as his hands grabbed onto her forearms. Hissing in pain, she didn't try and shake him off as her chin lifted. "I am Kaida, youngest daughter of King Barathron. As to what I know, I know what you are..." She knew very little else. His name or his reason for being here eluded her. She blinked and tilted her head. "The year is 426, within the golden era." Now she seemed confused as she looked up at him, her brows drawing together. It was odd to ask her the year, though anything else she might have said was silenced by another set of running boots and now her name being called, clearly.
Shrinking further into the dark Kaida peered around him. "I am late... I am to bond with a dragon." She glanced back up at him. "And you claim to know nothing about it, so I must be mistaken." She knew she wasn't, but if he refused her... Her eyes left his face and she looked down. "Then I must find another. It is expected I will bond with a gold.." She moved to pull away from him now, trying to not let that hurt and that hollowness fill her as she moved into the open once more. Her eyes rose to the platform and it would only take them moments to find her. "I would still advise you not pick a losing battle. Though if you'd prefer death..." Was death preferable to bonding with her? That hurt far more than she cared to admit. He was a stranger to her and perhaps she was mistaken. Either way to allow a complete stranger to hurt her in such an inmate way... She tugged at her arm. "Let me go," that soft, hurt voice lingering.
