What counts as a post?

I deleted my two request threads and I’m back to being a limited user; is a post a new thread, or is it a response?

For example, will responding to this magically get my up to whatever is necessary since I already have an introduction post?

This, technically, counts as Two posts. You'll notice your "Messages" are now at 4. Try logging out and back in, see if that turns you blue.
