... and the Wheels of Fate Begin to Turn...

Xanatos

The hour was fairly late, and the Saito family crest had led the way easily. Alone, and in his rented home down in the city, Riku had been hard at work delicately painting the gate to summon his servant.

A crimson rune is set upon his tiled kitchen floor. He chants calmly the words for the summoning, and closes it by slitting his thumb and letting a drop of blood land directly in the center of the Rune. The artifact to call the legendary spirit was set in the center; a strange sword of unknown origin passed to Riku through his family line.

The room lit brightly with a flash of white light as a very feminine looking boy standing at 5'6 had emerged from the floor. His clothes were fairly intricate, yet simple; a fairly distinct, light blue haori and matching kimono. His light brown eyes look up at Riku, who watches as the servant has slowly grown upward from the bright light.

He asks of Riku calmly, a fairly calm expression on his face, "Are you my Master?"

A glowing crimson rune lie glowing on the polished wooden floor of the dojo within the Maioji estate. The rune had been painted with the blood of a rogue mage that had been caught trying to enter the estate. The entire Maioji family was in attendance, with the exception of the guards, who were keeping an adamant watch over the dojo.

On top of the delicately painted circle lied an old 1880 revolver, which glowed with a dim light of its own. Kyo Maioji stood just outside the circle, chanting the incantation in a low tone with his arms outstretched, and a silver dagger in his left hand. As the incantation drew to a close, the circle began to shine brilliantly, making those in attendance shade their eyes.

Kyo walked into the circle, then brought the shining dagger to his right hand. He quickly drew the blade across his skin, slashing his palm. The blood from his hand fell into the circle, sealing the contract between Master and Servant.

The shining light immediately ceased, and a dark silhouette stood at the center of the circle, a figure that everyone struggled to make out.

"Are you my Master?" the silhouette inquired.

"Indeed I am, Assassin. Welcome, to the Seventh Holy Grail War." Kyo said in an official tone.

The Servant's eyes meet with his Master's, and for a brief moment a small grin splayed on the man's face. An old fashioned tan suit wrapped this being, a bit of a puffy beard and a long face decorated with light brown eyes and fairly short, poofy dark blonde hair, this servant seemed fairly out of place.

"I made it to the Grail War, just as expected. With I, who was chosen by the Lord, victory is already ours, Master."

As your family crest is intricate and a full library, brimming with a wealth of knowledge, this servant you can tell is easily maintained by you. Also, despite how certain this servant is that the Grail War is already yours, you feel a fairly scary lack of magical power from this servant.

"So then, who's first?" He asks, cracking his knuckles a bit.

Kyo was almost expecting applause from his servants and family. He held out his bleeding hand to the side.

"Bandage, please." Kyo announced, attempting to get the attention of his servants.

The young man put the dagger in its sheath at his side, then outstretched his other hand for a handshake.

"I am Kyo Maioji." he said in a confident tone, "Who are you?"

Kyo concealed his giddiness. He was very excited for the coming war, and his Servant's confidence put him in a good mood.

The Servant nods as a female servant comes forward to Kyo's outstretched hand, ready for the occasion with a fairly small medical bandage. She delicately wraps the wound as the Servant speaks up. "A confident Master, now we're talkin'! I am ***** "

The Servant whistles in an appreciative way, looking at the Dojo. "This place is massive. Heck, this place is as big as a house alone."

Setting the ancient handgun in his pocket, he looks past Kyo to all of his servants and family. "They're with us, right?" He asks, pointing at the crowd, then back at himself in a rather quick manner.

"Of course, Assassin." Kyo said with a smile, though he was tempted to send his Servant after his parents for their lack of funding. "They are my family."

After thanking his maid, Kyo introduced his Servant to his family before handing the silver dagger back to his father. It was borrowed strictly for the summoning ceremony. Kyo did need a weapon though.

"Come. I'll take you on a tour." Kyo said with a nod.

Kyo figured it'd be a good idea for his Servant to get an idea of where everything is, despite how eager he was to begin training.

Kite Xiroh

The servant nodded in agreement. "Yea, can't wait to see what else there is here. I mean, this is incredible already and there's more?" His eyes dart for a moment to inspect the female servants that are present within the room. The servants and your family don't really notice, but you catch him for a brief moment. Realizing he's been caught, he casually follows you as though nothing happened.

There is a strange burning sensation on the back of your right hand as the command seal embeds itself into you. Three sacred marks appear.

Raiden

Hard at work, two stories below the surface in his basement's secret basement, Jaden had been working hard to craft a magnificent rune to summon the Servant which would surely guide him to victory in the Grail War. His mind was set, and he was sure of his luck. He did not know to whom the ancient sword belonged to, but he was definitely able to feel incredible latent power just from holding the blade. So much so, that he likely could not wield this blade due to it's incredible spiritual weight.

The sword, rumored to be of a holy origin of one of the greatest heroes in the world, was an artifact passed down the Ryuuken family for the day one of their descendants could attempt to face off in the epic that is the Holy Grail War.

His voice resounded calmly, but distinguished with pride as the chanting went underway.
The barren storage that he chose as the summoning ground made an excellent rebound of his voice, adding the feel of power to his voice he didn't quite intend.

Regardless, the summoning of the familiar was said flawlessly and meaningfully.

A brilliant light filled the room, and the sound of the sword lifting off the stone made itself known as a woman grew upward from the gate. With long flowing blonde hair and eyes of blue, there was definite ferocity yet purpose in her eyes. Her lips began to move, the light receding plenty enough so she was easily visible as she asked her question clearly.

"Are you my Master?" She asked of Jaden, her sword at her side and her position neither friendly nor hostile.

Kyo raised an eyebrow and silently shook his head at Assassin. He disapproved of his Servant already getting bad ideas, and the last thing he needed was a conflict occurring between him and Assassin over one of his maids.

Having finally obtained the command seals, Kyo clenched his right hand, a fiery excitement washing over him. However, he was forced to contain it. He didn't want to embarrass himself in front of everyone.

"This way." Kyo said as he led the way out of the dojo and into a hall connected to the larger part of the estate.

As the Master and Servant made their way through the hallways and rooms, Kyo asked many questions of his Servant.

"Tell me about yourself. Your skills. Your Noble Phantasm. The more I know, the better chance we have of efficiently destroying the other Masters." Kyo said in a low voice, as if it were some kind of secret.

"Uh, well Master, I can shoot people dead." The servant replied in a very matter of factly way. Pulling out his gun, he shrugs loosely.

"This thing is easy to conceal, and if I get the drop on someone, it seems I can make sure they die generally. I call the technique ..." He mentions to his master of one special technique, that he calls a Noble Phantasm. However, it seems as though it is just condition, and quick wits. Could this really be a Noble Phantasm special... ?

"Heh," the Servant lets out, setting the gun back in his pocket. "I'm also pretty sly. I guarantee nobody would find this thing on me, and I could easily get the drop on the target. So we're in business."

"Excellent." Kyo lied, "I'm counting on you, so play as dirty as it takes to win."

Despite the smile on his face, the nervous Master felt dread inside. Was he dealt a bad hand? Would he lose the Holy Grail War? Or was he simply underestimating his Servant's abilities? It seemed only time would tell.

After a bit of a tour, the two finally arrived at Kyo's quarters. Opening the shoji revealed a large room with actual carpet colored red, and a large bed that could fit at least several people on it. Other furnishings of note were set neatly within the room, indicative of Kyo's status.

"See that shoji to the right? That's your room. That way, you can get to me quicker if ever the estate came under attack, which is the least likely thing to happen." Kyo said with confidence. "Follow me."

Kyo led his Servant to a shoji further down the hall from the his bedroom, showing Assassin his living quarters.

"This is where you'll be staying. It's small, but it will suffice." Kyo said as he opened the shoji.

Within was a room smaller than Kyo's, no less than half its size. The room had black carpet and a king-sized mattress on a finely crafted frame. Comfortable bedsheets adorned the mattress, and the room had few furnishings.

"What do you think?" Kyo asked.

Kite Xiroh

The Servant blinked in surprise, "An actual bed? Incredible! You got yourself a deal!" He said this with certainty to his voice, regardless of the fact there was indeed no deal that had been made. However, it seems as though he had completely accepted the living quarters in which he acts as though it were one hundred times as grand as his original.

"Alright. This place is indeed pretty good, I'm pretty sure even if I had a small army it wouldn't be necessary. Oh right, that's another thing I could likely do, brainwash a few gullables into whatever cause we'd need them to be fighting for." He throws in that tidbit of information he likely should have earlier.

Kyo was surprise at how easily Assassin threw out that information, but he knew it could be of use.

"Wow, really? I guess we could use some meat shields, eh?" Kyo said, half-joking.

Kyo was the type of self-serving bastard that would do anything to achieve victory, and he was sure his Servant felt the same way.

Kite Xiroh

"People believe just about anything, Master. Hell, I joined a sex cult to God and I had my way with many women!" The Servant said in a very proud manner.

The Servant seemed confident enough, and though he kind of seemed odd he likely could at least make use of his talents.

The young man offered a relieved sigh. He was uncertain as the young samurai's gender at first though it was revealed in his voice. His gaze meeting that of the young warrior's. "Though I disapprove of the labels of Master and Servant, I am, in fact, the one who called you." He gave a pleasant smile before rising to his feet and straightening his shirt. My name is Riku Saito, you can call me Riku." He said as he brushed strands of blonde hair from his face.

Xanatos

The Servant was relieved by the manner in which Riku spoke informally. "Ah. Very well then. I am *****, and I will ensure to the fullest we win the Grail War."

The manner in which he had originally popped up, he had a fairly normal expression. But his manner seemed to have relaxed, and he's speaking on friendly terms. He was not ignorant to the roles of Master and Servant, be it in history of by rule of the Command Seal. However, he himself understood what Riku was saying.

"If one cannot see the other as equal, there is no point in fighting. To fight for something means that you have something to fight for, and to value anyone on another scale undeserved is a terrible insult, so I will call you Riku."

He returns a friendly smile, much like a child. The air around this boy seems light, and genuine. He has an air of purity about him, and with your vast knowledge of magic, you can easily sense incredible power from him regardless of the lack of any evidence it were of any refined nature other than simply what he was.

Kyo closed his eyes and shook his head in mild amusement and disbelief. It sounded too far-fetched to be true, but he didn't say anything on the subject.

"Hey." Kyo said as he shook his finger, "You aren't a girl, so don't call me Master. It's weird. Call me Kyo."

The smirking Master casually shifted his head to the exit, signaling his Servant that it was time to leave.

"I need your help. I've been trained on how to use a gun, but I don't own one, so I'm going to need you to tell me all about your revolver." Kyo said as he proceeded to the courtyard of his estate, "I need to know about the days of its prime. How many people it's killed, so on and so forth. I intend on practicing my *****, so I can *****. You know, so I don't have to go buy or steal one. Then, when I've got it down, you can help me better my shot. What do you think?"

Jaden's summoning had gone off without a hitch, it seemed like the acoustic value of the deep basement had worked the way he'd always been informed that it would. This one was a Rider-Type servant but her appearance was more of a Saber-Type, but you couldn't judge a book by it's cover in any era so to speak. At first, for a split second he thought something had mixed up and he'd gotten a different type but rememebered that it was the Grail itself that actually chose the representative for the servant class, not the summoner; whom simply issued the general call to that class. He brushed some of his dark brown hair out of his eyes and looked her over carefully, assessing what type of skills she probably possessed. "Yes I am." he replied to her when she asked her question.

He didn't look like any master she'd probably seen before, more like a casual youth that dabbled in the occult. But he did have potential to be a quite adept battle-magus even if his own abilities were more toward the physical side of things. "My name is Jaden. You can call me that if you so choose since I prefer to think of us as allies working toward the same goal rather than master and servant." he pointed out, wanting to put her at ease as she seemed to be the type that wouldn't like it either. He thought about it for a few seconds, deciding that he probably didn't need to know her name or history but her skills would be useful to know.

"What are your capabilities? I know you're a Rider-class servant and for security's sake it's better I probably don't know your historical name unelss you feel like you want to tell me. But I do need to have some idea of what you can do or specialize in.
