I believe that it was Carl Sagan who said, "The fact that some geniuses were laughed at does not imply that all who are laughed at are geniuses. They laughed at Columbus, they laughed at Fulton, they laughed at the Wright Brothers. But they also laughed at Bozo the Clown."
That's real.
Strange thoughts on a night like tonight. A day into my first foray into this strange new world and the mind reels. This place appears as a fount of creativity, overflowing from the confines of its own shape and boundaries. You can feel it, if you're really paying attention. Every post, every bump, every scream into the abyss; an attempt to create, to share, to connect with strangers for the sake of connection. There's beauty in that, isn't there?
Yeah. There is.
In my short time here, I've spoken with a whole array of different people with different interests from different walks of life. One would expect trepidation and disinterest in this outsider, clawing and climbing his way into a community where he doesn't belong, but I've only been welcomed with open arms and open hearts. There was no fanfare and no ticker tape parade, but even still, there was something and there's some beauty in that, isn't there?
Yeah. There is.
I can't say I came into this place knowing what to expect. There's always fear in trying new things, you know. That old god anxiety whispering misery in your ear, but here we are.
In the few short hours I've been on BMR, I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Faygorion... I watched J-beams glitter in the dark near the Clownhäuser Gate.
All those moments will be lost in time, like tears in facepaint...
There's beauty in that, isn't there?
Time to die.
Until next year.
Much mother fucking wicked clown love,
