Muse A(AKA MY CHARACTER) has been in service of the King since he was a child.

It may be a distant memory, a moment in time over a decade old, but it's a day he hasn't let slip into obscurity. It was the day he and his mother found themselves "gratefully" sold into the service of their land's ruler, King C. When she died of Illness, he grew up physically, mentally and job-wise. A troubled lifetime of good and bad choices steered his career from Servant to Headmaster, and then Headmaster to Advisor. The only constant that endured years of changes in position and every moment of hardship he pushed through was that the King was still above him. At first, he didn't care about his position in life because he was young and had no choice in the matter. But as an adult, living as second fiddle to a gloating buffoon of a King was obviously wrong. He didn't just deserve to get out from under his Leige's thumb; his future depended on a change in his favor. But the King had no intention of letting his prized fish go, and by now Muse A was beginning to suspect he was being kept for cruel amusement rather than his expertise in political decisions. Muse A's mind was already starting to accept that his fate would remain in this King's hands forever.

It was an act that surprised even Muse A at first, but it wasn't as though it didn't make sense. Given the strength of the King's armies, it was only a matter of time before they sent some sort of gift to him as a sign of desperate surrender that they would rather call a sign of peace. What better gift to send than a person?

The King was all too pleased to receive his new Queen, Muse B, if only to amuse his court by parading her around as a prize of winning the war against kingdoms too weak to oppose him. Despite now being a Queen, the power and respect that should have come with it remained in her husband and her husband alone. Most of the kingdom, Castle Staff included, either spat in her face or ignored her very existence otherwise. While Muse A did neither of those and likened her newly ordained fate with his own, he didn't think interacting with her would lead to anyone's benefit at the end of the day. Aside from small talk in the public's eye, what need did he have to even speak with her?

He got his answer one night when he stumbled upon methodically written out plans to kill the King, in her recognizable handwriting.

To summarize this: An Advisor and a Newly-wed Queen plot the murder of a powerful King in secrecy, whilst maybe humoring an attraction between each other as time goes. What a plot, huh? Murder Mystery(kinda), Love Affairs hidden in plain sight and an atmosphere dark enough to blot out sunlight. I envisioned this with a slow burn feel to it, perhaps with the Advisor taking her constructed plans with the intention of destroying them as a show of loyalty to his king, before his thoughts quickly turn to the benefits of getting rid of the King alongside her. From there, it's all about them planning out this crime in a way that won't lead back to them, carrying out said crime and then dealing with any unintended surprises along the way! I also envisioned this as a realistic Medieval tale, but no amount of Muse would be lost if this had any sort of Mid to High fantasy elements involved. Maybe an Elf bride is gifted to the King, or any other fantasy race. Possibilities are nearly endless here!

Either way, if any Advanced Writers/Novella/ 5+ paragraph writers are interested in a plot like this, just send me a PM with your thoughts about it.
