In a Castle that overlooks a vast green meadow, that is where one will find Eradia. Princess of All Elvenkind, and daughter of Duedine. He has ruled the Elves with great sincerity since his crowning, and their nation was richer than ever. 'Duedine The Reliable' (as many had dubbed him) was an honest man, who always delivered realistic goals toward his Kingdom. But this King had a flaw greater than most, and it was his failure to produce a son - and even a daughter for many, many years. It was a tragedy to the Kingdom, but they did not fail to believe in their Ruler. Duedine basked in the support of his people. However, the King still wept out of guilt in the shadows, praying and praying for a child to be gifted to him.

After many hard years of grieving, it had soon come for the King's fiftieth birthday. He couldn't help but feel a more daunting sadness than he'd felt ever in his life. Of course he indulged in his birthday as he did every year, but late in the night he found himself wandering his rose gardens. It was the only place he could find peace. But even here he felt unrest, and he finally sat beneath one of his many roses and wailed in the moon's glowing light. "Please, please! You must give me a child, for I mustn't live another day without joy in my heart."

And that night, The King believed in miracles. His wife, Solaris, had come to him with news. She had been confident that she had become pregnant. He wrapped his arms around his second wife, and brought her close.

Birds chirped in the morning as the sun rose once again behind the castle. In one of the upper palace rooms lay Princess Eradia (MC). Her sleep has been restless, and for very good reason. An important tradition for the next Ruler was in order, and today had been the day where a Knight would be appointed to her. He would accompany Eradia during her travel, protecting her and guiding her through many paths of what will be her Kingdom. It is an important journey that mustn't be taken lightly, and only the best Knights could train and attempt to seek the position.

Hoards of people gathered near Knight's Square, where many armored Elves stood in ragged lines to compete. Two men had already begun their dance. Impressing enough, it was only a short minute before the larger Knight disarmed his opponent and sent him falling into the dirt. Eradia couldn't help but silently hope for him to fail. He was a brute, and even had the nerve to fight without protective gear for his head. His face was riddled with nasty scars, and he was flat out ugly. But the exhilaration of the fights kept the crowd loud, and betting began on the larger Knight victory after victory. Even Duedine cast his bets on the large Knight. The King was confident his bet was correct, and he felt content that this man would protect his daughter when the time came.

Unfortunately, The Gods did not have the Kings comfort in mind that day. As the final Knight stood in the ring, the crowd roared. Most were confident about the man who wielded a claymore, but there was a tense aura that fogged the arena when the shrill of a broadsword rang. A blaring horn rang in the air once again and The Giant lunged. It was but a quick moment that he ended up on the dirt, on his back and defenseless. It was almost like nothing had happened at all. This new opponent's only change had been his direction, pivoted 180 degrees with the tip of his sword pointed at The Giant's exposed neck. The fog of intensity thickened when The Knight flipped his sword into his sheath once again.

The crowd was silent. The only sound was the clang of the walking man's armor, where he came to the King's Tower and dipped his head beneath it. Duedine's skin prickled with mild annoyance before it turned to astonishment. The Giant had peeled himself from the ground and came plunging for the bowing Knight. And again, the ring of his sword metallically rang its way through the air and slid itself against the claymore that almost found itself in his head moments before. And again, he disarmed and fell The Giant. Eradia believed he had truly shown his worth, but Duedine's voice cut in before another word was spoken. "Lift your helmet."
