â??I canâ??t keep it in any longerâ?¦.Iâ??m doing the right thingâ?¦â? A young peasant girl kept repeating those same lines over and over as she walked closer to a large manner where an up scale masquerade was being thrown. She played with her silver toned hair, her nerves were starting to get to her, and the closer she got to the manner the worse her nerves bothered her. Thankfully by now the attendants seeing in the guests in were not to be seen, the party had been going on for a few hours by now.

Her name is Dresden, a sweet girl born into a unwealthy family. No matter this peasant girl found herself in love with a man the was behind closed doors, The Baron no less. As foolish as she felt for loving him, she could not hide her feelings for him any longer. Growing up she did not have many friends, but it was her odd luck that the one friend she did make was the Baron himself when he was just a young boy. Surely she thought he would remember her, and that their past friendship meant just as much to him as it meant to her. It had been years since she had last seen him up close; she was only able to see him from afar while he was dealing with business in town. That did not matter; she loved him, or really loves the boy that he once was.

Her hand touched the front doors; she paused looking down at herself. She had been saving, saving for a long time for the dress that she wore tonight. Even though the people inside were dressed perhaps ten times better, she felt like she was able to show herself and have confidence when she announced to the Baron of her feeling. Her ran her fingers over the trim of her satin white dress, the positioned her hair around her shoulders. Never in all her days had she felt more beautiful then she did right then. Her pale blue eyes blinked as she ran through the lines she had practicedâ?¦she was ready.

Her hand gently pushed on the front doors and surprisingly the opened a little too fast, slamming openâ?¦and making herself known to all the guests. This is not how she pictured it, everyone with their eyes on her. Slowly she walked in and glanced around trying to find the Baron. Her eyes finally lay on him, and she smiles sweetly and walked towards him. â??Please excuse me your Lordshipâ?¦.But I have walked a long way, might I have a word with you in private?â? The music continued after a moment, but the people however were rather interested in what this girl had to say.

â??We are all friends here childâ?¦say it out loudâ? one lady came up next to her, touching her shoulders and looking up at the Baron. â??Is that correctâ?¦.Your Lordship?â? She mocked Dresden. Dresden looked around; it seemed that everyone was drawing closer around them. â??Please, itâ??s just meant for his earsâ?¦â? She felt like a mouse surrounded by a bunch of alley cats.

Baron Faust looked down at the girl from where he stood, the tipsy form of one of his concubines laying within his arms as they had been dancing before he was so rudely interupted, and by a peasent girl no less... He could not look upon her without his thoughts being filled with hunger and lust. She was beautiful, gorgerous and amazingly well matured, yet still he could not shake the feeling that this young girl was some how familiar to him. He shook off the feeling, returning his mind back to the present.

He stood almost half a foot above her, his long curly black hair rolling down to his tail bone, a fine groamed beared kept apon his face in compliment to his dark red eyes. He wore his dark iron armor as acustom to the war-born nobility of the land, a dark red mantle swept over his shoulders and down to the floor. He wore the cross of maltice, the noble emblem of his status.

He peered over to the mistress of Fort Luffee, smiling softly as she placed her hands upon the girl's shoulders and mocked her in such a way that the girl would have never known. He returned his attention back to Dresden, giving her a fake warm smile as he raised one hand up in implication to the crowd, his other arm still wrapped around is concubine who was remained silent. "Yes, of course my dear. We are all friends in my manner. Speak your mind, my dear." He said, a few of the nobles snickering at this mockery, knowing who truly ruthless the Baron was.

Dresden hesitated in saying anything around so many people, but she had already waited as long as she could bear. Her hands played with the fabric of her dress, all the eyes on her made her feel sick. â??Baron, I use to be your playmate when we were just children, surely you must remember me?â? she fumbled over her words. â??We were close, we confided in each otherâ?¦spoke of the future.â? She remembers the memories as if they had happened just yesterday. â??Thenâ?¦we drifted away, you said your father did not to see you with me anymore. I understoodâ?¦.you left me with a small kiss on my cheekâ? Had she really loved him for that long?

Dresden inched forward â??I have never forgotten you, and I watched you through the years.â? She was beginning to feel more confident as she went on. â??I fell for you when we were just kids playing, and even though we could not see each other, I still find that Iâ??m in love with youâ?¦â? Her head bowed down, her eyes going to the floor. â??I was hoping that you would give me a chance to win your heart againâ?¦being that your father passed away.â? He was the one in charge now; surely he could look past her social status, and lack of wealth.Put in better clothes and she could pass off like any of the women around her.

There was silence for a few brief moments, the Baron's features etched into a serious look. It was not until his lips curled into a rather twisted smile that the entire Hall bursted into laughter. Even the servants had dropped what they were doing to roll around upon the cold stone floor, their lungs filled with laughes and giggles. The Baron stifled his own laugh, merely letting out a slight chuckle while his drunken mistress hung in his arms, laughing until she couldn't breath. Faust had no recollection of his childhood, only small fragments that appeared only in split moments.

(sorry for such a short post. I didn't want to add anything else so that Dresden could react to the humiliation before the Baron spoke to her ^^; )

They laughed at her, Dresden was shocked. She backed away slowly, trying not to show the tears that she felt coming. How could they laugh at her, she had been brave, and upfront. Was it a mistake to have come during his party? â??I donâ??t understandâ?¦â? she looked back seeing that there was no path to run through. â??I â?¦â? Dresden could not finish her sentence before a tear rolled down her flushed cheek.

His smile quickly faded as he saw the tears welling up in her eyes. Despite his ruthlessness, Faust could not stand the sight of a crying woman, particularly a beautiful woman like her. Something seemed to pull at his mind, screaming in the back of his head to do something to stop this. He raised his free hand, the chorus of jeers and laughter soon fading away. He paused for a moment, saying nothing as he tried to think of a way to use this gorgeous peasent to his advantage....

He smiled almost warmly as he raised an out stretched arm to Dresden, beckoning. "Kneel before me..." He ordered taking another short pause before speaking again. "I will give you this chance you desire my dear. I will allow you the honor of being one of my personal concubines, and then I shall see what you are worth. What say you?" He asked softly, tightening his grip on the woman he already held in his other arm.
