Interactive fictiont/Quest threads?

So I had this idea of making a Quest/interactive fiction thread open to people who want to participate. But I didn't know if something like that would be allowed on the site.

Would it be possible to do something like that, and where would be the best place to have a thread like that?
Would group roleplay be best since it relies on multiple people to reply or would system roleplay be best?

What is interactive fiction? Is it an rp thread where anyone can join at any time?

Like Open rp? Open Roleplay Interest & Coordination

Also, system rp is an rp based upon an rp system, usually using rules, character sheets, a published campaign, dice rollers, etc.

It's sort of a text adventure that multiple people play at once.
The readers play a single character and vote on how the MC reacts as well as sometimes offering write in reactions.
