The Master's been taken, and now I'm alone...
His rings on my fingers, his Mark in my bones...
I'm looking for a fairly specific plot, although there is plenty of room to change the specifics. This plot would center around a living weapon, a relic of a world that has long since fallen. She was artificially created, through processes that are now lost to time, to serve as an assassin to a dark master. Killing delighted her; devotion fulfilled her.
As powerful and dangerous as her master was, he was a mortal man--a weakness his assassin did not share. Eventually, he succumbed to old age, leaving her eternal and alone. She lived to see the world as she knew it--a chaotic, violent world, well-suited to a man like her master and a weapon like her--crumble away. In time, the dust settled, and a new world emerged. It was gentle and quiet compared to what she was used to, and she struggled to find her place in it.
Our story truly begins when the assassin encounters a young man who, somehow or other, has uncovered the means to command her, as her master once did. At first, she hates him, hates herself, hates that she yields to the will of a man who is not her master. Perhaps over the centuries, she has even begun to appreciate her independence, and hates to have it snatched away from her. But she was created to serve, a purpose etched deep in her mind and body, and in time begins to relish having a master again.
Obviously, this leans a bit dark, but there's room to decide how dark--mostly in terms of what sort of man the new master is. He could be cruel, sadistic, delighting in enslaving her. He might be kind, in over his head and desperately needing her help. He could be vengeful twisted with anger, but not wholly unsympathetic.
There's also plenty of room to discuss the specifics of the setting, what it was like before and how it is different now, though I'm largely imagining this as a post-apocalyptic world that has had a long time to settle and rebuild.
Finally, while I've put this in the female request threads, I'd be happy playing the master if someone finds the assassin to be more interesting.
