@Sunshine and Whiskey A sequel to The Neighbor's Window

Adam Pierson was not expecting a great deal of exciting things to occur for him in the near future. It had been some time since his charged encounter with his neighbor at her window. A woman whose name he never knew, yet the woman he simply could not even begin to forget. His breath quickened sometimes when he thought of her, her body etched into the recesses of his mind.

But he had never learned her name. Never heard her voice properly. They'd had one night of play to themselves and that had been that. IT had left him with his life to go on like normal, or as normal as he could possibly make of it. It also left him busy. He was working odd jobs, the best he might manage. At a few of the places he traveled to, he was still giving lodgings and free drinks, which he was taking full advantage of at the local hotel bar, a glass in front of him as the bartender filled it. Adam had just given him a friendly smile, hoping he would receive no awkward questions about his service. He was just tired now, wanting a drink, a good meal. He got plenty of that.

Errands were the same demanding thing as ever. Every night he could return to his apartment, staring at the window like he expected someone there again. Every night, he could work out...and wait. Strangely, she had become a standard by which he judged all others. Was this a healthy way of dealing with it? Certainly not. Could he help it? Also certainly not.

But he finished up, setting out for the grocery store with his list. Just a normal day like any other, with life going on just like normal as he thought against of his neighbor at the window. It was absurd; he would never see her again, in all likelihood...maybe he needed to try dating again. He'd been single for a while.

Just a normal day in a normal life, with nothing more to expect.

Emily couldn't get that one particular moment to stop replaying within the confines of her mind. It wasn't like she minded it because it was definitely a night that she would never, ever forget. She smirked at the moment it entered her mind again then looked towards her window now. Emily lowered her head to the ground because of the fact that she was now in a different building. One that she absolutely hated. She didn't have anyone to toy or play with, which was probably a good thing for her. She could focus more on herself and other aspects of her life. Emily did release a sigh from her parted lips then turned her lips up into a smirk, still thinking about that one magical night.

She couldn't get it out of her mind, no matter what she did. But life goes on and she had things that needed to be done. Emily had curled her raven-colored tresses of hair that cascaded down to the middle of her back then grabbed her sunglasses to place over her eyes. She wore a pair of blue jean shorts and a white t-shirt that had the sleeves cut off. Her mind currently ran rampant with all of the errands that she needed to get done before sundown but first, she desperately needed to go shopping for some groceries. It was mainly because she wanted to cook tonight and was growing tired of fast food. It was literally making her sick just to even think about it.

Before she went outside, Emily decided to check her mailbox that was empty, which made him smile a little. From there, she proceeded her trek towards the outside and got inside of her vehicle. She drove down the road to the nearby grocery store that seemingly wasn't as packed as she'd thought it would be. That was good enough for her because she didn't really feel like conversating with anyone today.

Upon entering the grocery store, Emily placed her shades on the top of her head and grabbed herself a cart that she rolled down the aisles, picking up her main ingredients for dinner then went ahead to shop for other necessities. One of those was a bottle of wine that was going to be the finishing touch to her dinner. She smiled then placed the glass bottle into her cart then went on down the aisle, making a turn and her cart collide with another one. ❝Oh, I'm so sorry.❞ Her voice stated softly while her eyes fluttered upward to stare at the gentleman whose cart was the victim of her own.

It was him. The guy who made her feel pure ecstasy through each other's window and made her feel something that no one else had ever made her feel. She tucked a strand of her hair behind her ear out nerves and her bottom lip felt her top teeth because of the same feeling. It was quite obvious that she was nervous. Emily didn't think that she'd ever see him in person or let alone, see him ever again since she moved a few buildings down the street.

She didn't really know what to say but rolled her tongue over her lips anyway then grabbed the bar that was meant to make her cart move with a light push. ❝Uhm, it was nice seeing you again.❞ Emily mentioned with her voice shaky then went on to try to roll her cart and herself away. This had to be a dream, or better yet, a nightmare that she was currently in and definitely didn't like it. It was only supposed to be a one-time encounter and wasn't supposed to be like this. While she quickly scurried away from the person that used to be her neighbor, she went towards the checkout line and hoped that someone would come to stand behind her before he even made a move to do so. Emily practically pleaded within herself that the guy wouldn't come to stand behind her while her fingers tapped against the bar of her cart.

There he was, with everything going for him. Life could be dull, certainly, but it was his own little slice of existence. Adam was going about his day, just like normal. A drink, some fun times,enjoyment...what else could he ask for? What could be expected? It wasn't like he was seeing his neighbor again. Even if it had been such a magical evening, he thought as he continued his gait. He was well dressed now, wearing a T-shirt and jeans, clean shaven with his short black hair neatly cut and styled.

He really did want to stop at the store, though. Make a good home-cooked meal and above all work out more. He had admittedly slacked a bit, though it didn't seem to have affected his body all too much, with his toned muscles in the same shape as when he had played with his neighbor. He meant to go quickly, not intending on conversation. The store wasn't exactly crowded, either....people milled about, taking what they needed with quick purchases all through. He could, as ever, simply respect anyone on their way through the road of life.

Then something happened he was hardly expecting. Rounding the corner, someone drove their cart into his. He paused, not upset, but surprised, and looked up, his mouth already forming the words, when he saw...

Her. It was her. By pure coincidence, there she was, with her dark skin, her black hair, her beautiful eyes. That body, once so freely placed on display, was hidden beneath her clothes now and his body gave an involuntary twitch, his mouth briefly hanging open as realization struck him: he didn't know her name.

"I..." He began when she spoke: 'It was nice seeing you again.'

Was that it? After all that, were they to be a source of embarrassment to one another? She had vacated the apartment to be sure, left him behind and now, seeing one another by some bizarre twist of fate, he was speechless and disarmed, hunting for something he might be able to say.

She practically raced away, leading him to wonder what to do. He simply turned his cart, trying to head to the checkout line, counting the beats of his heart. Three. Two..

and there she was, him behind her, with the only line open. He was pausing as he came up there, thinking of something to say.

"...I'm...Adam. My name is Adam."

She kept checking over her shoulders, tapping her fingers on the rail of her cart, and her heart was beating out of her chest. She was scared or afraid at all but more so nervous because she vacated her apartment for a reason. He might've not felt embarrassed but she sure did. It was her plan but the next morning, she felt an emptiness in her stomach and felt a bit guilty with herself. What if he had a girlfriend? What if he was married? Many thoughts ran circles in her mind the next day, which decided her decision to move to a nearby house.

Her eyes stared forward, hoping and praying to herself that the line would move along. Emily's ear twitched when she heard footsteps approach behind her and she didn't even bother to turn around to see who it was. It could've been him but she certainly hope that it wasn't. Her stomach churned inside of her, which made her feel like she was going to be sick.

It was when she heard the voice that prompted her to turn around and stare at the gentleman's face. It was him and while she heard his name, nothing else could be heard. She looked at him and remembered how big his cock was and the heavy load that he blew. Emily would be lying to herself if she said that she didn't want to feel him inside of her because she surely did. Of course, she wasn't going to say that to now. It'll be highly inappropriate because of the people who were standing in line along with the clerk, who was ringing up the many groceries and accessories that people had bought.

There while standing there in a moment of silence like an idiot, she blinked her eyes and let out an exhaled breath then smiled. It might've seemed odd to him but her lips parted before she spoke. ❝Emily.❞ She said lowly but clear enough for him to hear her. ❝So, who's occupying the apartment across the street now?❞ A question to break the awkward tension between them. ❝I hope they're not hotter than me.❞ Emily teased with a wink then moved upward as the line moved.

❝So, are you wanting to talk about what happened the other night?❞ She asked him softly, eyes rolled upward to stare back at him. She had admitted to herself that he was highly attractive if she had to say so herself. It kind of made her weak in the knees but was strong enough to not make it known. ❝If you are, can it wait until we're outside?❞ She further asked because it was too much to discuss right here out in the open. Emily turned heel to walk forward again and she was at the counter now, piling her groceries up onto the counter. She looked at Adam again then at the prices of the items that were being rung up.

Emily cleared her throat before she pulled out her credit card then inserted the chip, which went through quickly. The bagger placed all the items in her cart as she thanked him with a smile then turned her head to glance over her shoulder. ❝I'll be waiting for you outside, Adam.❞ Emily stated sweetly as she walked out then went to her vehicle to start packing it with groceries, constantly looking for Adam, who she was curious to learn more about. Even if she didn't show it beforehand.

Adam had never quite been this nervous. He swallowed with a dry throat, taking a deep and hard breath. God, how could he even look at her with these memories? Even thinking of her was difficult, he thought as he fidgeted about, right beside her in the line. He tried to search for something to say. What if she had a boyfriend? What if she didn't want to see him? What if he had an angry husband on him? She'd moved out so suddenly...was she ashamed of him?

His stomach was doing backflips. He tried to keep cold sweat from breaking out on his head, keeping a weak smile on his face as he fidgeted nervously even while he tried to project an air of calm confidence to the woman whom he had seen...all of. He remembered the sight of her dark skin, her beautiful breasts, her pussy and ass...and the show he had given her in return. God, he had to keep control or he was done for now...

And she was so, so beautiful...god, what he'd wanted to do with her that night...the sight of her, so close to him here...he couldn't say nearly all the things he wanted to. He could only face those beautiful dark eyes of her while they were waiting in line, swallowing heavily as he nodded to her. "Emily," she said.

Her name was Emily...so lovely, he thought. She looked like an Emily... "Um...nobody really...across the street," he said quickly. "I mean, nobody...really interesting. Not nearly as hot as you," he grinned. An older couple had moved in....certainly nobody with any idea what had happened in that window...

"...Yeah, I was thinking we might want to. We can wait till..." he gestured with his chin to outside, clearing his throat quickly as he waited for her to finish with her groceries, paying for his own. Probably the fastest he'd ever done this...just inserting the card, waiting...then practically taking off. He tried to play it cool. Simple. Easy.

Just as he saw her waiting outside in the sunlight...and walked right up with an awkward grin on his face. "Can I...help you with your groceries?"

While she was in the middle of assembling her groceries into her vehicle, a little smile began to form between her lips. She remembered Adam saying that no one interesting move across from him or as hot as her. It even made her cheeks flush a little bit with a bright red tint showing. Her ears twitched whenever she heard footsteps approaching her then turned to see the male figurine she was just conversing with inside the store and who seen her in all her glory from his apartment window. Her mind went back to whenever he said her name as if it belonged on his lips and now was the time to speak his name to see how it would flow from her pursed lips.

❝Adam.❞ She spoke softly while her hands found their way to her hips. ❝I think I can manage a few groceries but thank you for the gentlemanly act.❞ Emily stated while she placed the last bag inside of her vehicle then closed the hatch, slapped her fingers together then pushed the cart to the designated area. She eventually returned to Adam, who was still standing beside her vehicle and she offered him a smile. ❝So, do you want to start the conversation or shall I?❞ Emily questioned him with her arms folded over her chest, eyebrow raised, and the left side of her body against her hatch. It was a rather signature pose of hers but of course, Adam wouldn't know that.

A soft sigh escaped over her parted lips while her tongue made an appearance to run over her lips, which she then pressed together before she uttered anything. ❝I quite enjoyed that night, if you want me to be honest with you.❞ She mentioned while maneuvering her frame to stand up right now. Emily was being honest with him because she did enjoy herself and even got a good night's sleep because of their erotica encounter through each other's window.

Emily proceeded after a shrug of her shoulders. ❝I didn't move out because of that, I assure you, Adam.❞ She didn't want him to feel like it was his fault because after all, she did start it and didn't bother finishing it until they both climaxed. ❝The apartment wasn't right for me. I live in a house now.❞ She offered him that little bit of information as a smirk tugged at the corner of her lips. ❝A few blocks down, actually.❞ Another piece of information before she walked closer to him, only to walk past him then her eyes peered over her shoulder.

❝Would you like to follow me to see it?❞ She asked of him because Emily didn't want to seem pushy, even though she was at times. ❝I am cooking dinner tonight if you'd like to stay for that, too.❞ Emily mentioned with another shoulder shrug before she went to the driver's side to open the door.

❝The choice is yours.❞ She stated in a singsongy voice while getting inside of her vehicle, starting the engine up, and backing out of her parking space. ❝Hope you can keep up, Adam!❞ Emily shouted while she trailed off, basically leaving him behind to see how long it'd take him to catch up. She had to admit to herself that she liked games but only the ones that were fun and adventurous. Her eyes peered into her rearview mirror to see if Adam was even remotely close to her.

Adam had rushed out too quick, a guilty little smile on his face as he rubbed his head. He was annoyingly, obnoxiously tongue tied on the matter right now. But then again, after everything....he tried to disguise the nervousness under a veneer of confidence, looking at Emily closly. His throat felt annoyingly dry whenever he tried to swallow, his breath coming out in measured noises while he extended his hand.

"I mean...of course you can manage, but...well. I mean...just offering so..." he said, watching her finish unloading, standing there like a bit of a fool, before: "Do you want to start the conversation or shall I!" While she folded her arms. He tried to think of what to say, before...she took a rather seemingly confrontational pose, staring at him in a most intimidating manner.

"I enjoyed that, too," he admitted, standing up straight, trying not to be too stiff at the time. He loosened up, smiling t the revelation of her own pleasure. "...I had a great time, too." It was like they'd had a date, he thought. Like there'd been...something else, not just playing with one another. "It's been boring without you..." he admitted, his mouth tugging up into a smile.

"...I'd like to see your place..." He admitted, whispering it b efore she got in her car...taking off. He was only given a brief chance to contemplate his fortune before he was practically booking to his own vehicle, almost throwing his own groceries in and pulling out swiftly...following along, not too close...

But not wanting to lose her again.

Emily smirked slyly in her rearview mirror at Adam, who trailed closely behind her.

She was laughing to herself because of the enjoyment that she was having. Her eyes stayed on him while she offered him a little wave before her eyes went ahead of her. Her little wave reminded her of their first encounter when they first met and of course, she hoped to herself that it reminded him of the same. Emily's mind went back to their conversation in the parking lot, which made her nervous but still, she smiled. She had never thought that she'd see Adam again, let alone at the grocery store that she frequent and never saw him there before. Emily sighed softly to herself while she continued to drive onward towards her apartment.

They did have to slow it down because of the heavy police patrol that was on display whenever she turned onto her street. It was kind of weird to see a heavy police presence there but Emily just kind of shrugged it off. Eventually, she pulled alongside a curb that was right in front of her apartment building. When she turned her engine off, Emily unbuckled her seat belt then hopped out of her vehicle with a soft giggle as she walked in Adam's direction, standing a few feet away from him now. ❝So, did you enjoy that?❞ She asked softly, lifting a finger up to remove a strand of hair from her face.

❝Grab your groceries, as well.❞ She spoke with a smile while she grabbed her own then nodded her head in the direction for Adam to follow her. Emily walked up two flights of stairs before they both stood before her door now, her gaze went behind her to stare at Adam. ❝I hope that you're not an ax murderer.❞ She stated with a smirk as she stuck the key inside of the doorknob, giving it a turn, and pushed the door forward while she walked inside and waited for Adam to walk inside before she closed the door behind them both, locking her apartment down. Adam would see some extra locks placed onto her door and hoped to herself that he wouldn't ask about them but still, she smiled will she walked towards the kitchen.

Emily sat her groceries onto the counter and let out a playful grunt while she laughed. ❝You can sit your groceries anywhere.❞ She said with a shrug of her shoulders then started to put away her own groceries. ❝I am thinking chicken alfredo for dinner.❞ She stated outwardly, not that she was looking for confirmation but just letting Adam know that's what she was making. ❝Also, grand tour!❞ An exclaimed expression that she shouted with her arms stretched out. ❝Okay, so the living room, bathroom, bedroom, the kitchen that we're standing inside of, and that's it, honestly.❞ Emily spoke then ended with a smile while her eyes fluttered over to Adam.

She started to roam around the kitchen so that she could start to prepare dinner for two. ❝So, Adam.❞ She started before she took a breath and turned her gaze to face his own now. ❝What's your story?❞ Emily asked curiously while she continued to roam around but still listened closely to him while he spoke. She figured that since they were within each other's reach and he was inside of her humble abode that it was an appropriate question to ask of him.

Adam was following steadily in Emily's wake. His motions were cautious, almost timid as he trailed after her. There should be no reason to be cautious or timid after what they had seen of one another, he thought. No reason at all, none whatsoever. They had seen a lot of one another. They had seen all of one another.

Perhaps even too much. But Emily seemed to have a bit of fun with this. In fact, she seemed to be having too much fun entirely with this. He was not, for his part, used to the awkwardness and difficult that seemed to just come with the territory. He was following her in his car, seeing her wave. He kept his own hands on the wheel by contrast, while he thought only of following her. Can't lose her, he thought. Have to keep on with her. Keep going, drive onward. He had to...

What? What was going to happen? Was he just being absurd right now? Foolish? Delusional? Did he mean anything to her? They were just a thing. Once. Only the vaguest memories of the empty apartment remained after that singular night of mutually shared passion, of watching one another across that narrow passageway separating their apartment.

Of playing. Of wanting one another. Of turning that passion inward.

He wanted to put the pedal to the floor, but the damn police made him drive at the cursed thing called the speed limit. Little by little, he inched on, watching familiar streets fade all about him. Until he parked and stepped out, stretching a bit, looking to Emily. "Enjoy that?" He asked.

"the Drive or..." He couldn't bring himself just to say it, seizing his things and walking inside. The first thing he noticed was it was tasteful here. Emily had quite the eye for decor. "Well..." He laughed a bit.

"I did a tour in the military. Got out. Honorable discharge. Just....trying to make my way now?" He aded with a small shrug, smiling at her.

"Not very exciting. How about you?"

His gaze turned briefly to the locks, the extra locks...this was not, he knew, a high crime area. It made him wonder...but not wanting to pry, he didn't push it.

Emily was a little disappointed that Adam didn't really offer her much of a story but she just shrugged it off for now. She busied herself by still preparing dinner and gasped softly to herself whenever he turned the question towards her. Don't think you're ready for the real story. She thought to herself then peeked at him over her shoulder with her brown hues before they went back to preparing the alfredo sauce for dinner before realizing how quiet she'd been since he asked the question.

❝Well, I moved out of my parent's home because I wanted to be independent.❞ She spoke with a shake of her head. ❝A big mistake that was.❞ Emily continued, eyes shifted towards him again with a perched brow. ❝There's not really much to tell, honestly.❞ There was but again, Adam wasn't ready for the truth. She wasn't ready for him to hear it. A soft sigh escaped over her parted lips while the sauce was close to being ready and she went over to a nearby cabinet to retrieve a strainer so that she could strain the noodles.

From there, Emily retrieved the baked chicken from the oven and set the baking pan on the counter to let it cool down. ❝So, what's an honorable discharge?❞ She asked curiously with her head cocked to the side. She really didn't know and was intrigued to hear Adam explain it to her.

She proceeded to chop up the baked chicken and then grabbed a container, poured all of the ingredients in and gave them a good stir. Emily walked over to another cabinet, retrieved two plates, and went over to a drawer to grab two forks and a serving spoon before he sat a plate down in front of Adam. ❝Dinner's served.❞ She stated before grabbing the handle of the serving spoon and dumping three scoops on Adam's plate then proceeded to do the same to her plate.

Her fingers snapped together once she realized that she had forgotten to get them both drinks. ❝I hope that you like beer.❞ She remarked while sitting a bottle down before him after popping the top off. ❝Please let me know how nasty the food is.❞ Emily laughed while she placed some food inside her own mouth, loving the way the combination swirled around the insides of her mouth before she swallowed the pieces and then eyed Adam with a smirk.

❝Good?❞ She couldn't help but to question him while her eyes stayed on him to see what reaction she'd get from him.

It did occur to Adam he was perhaps being a touch evasive, but the situation was still quite overwhelming for poor Adam. He was attempting to play this as casually as he possibly could and absolutely hoped he might overcome the awkardness here. He was watching her, suddenly looking forward to the meal. Adam could cook moderately well, but it had been quite a while since another human being had actually made him a meal. He found himself smiling like a school boy at the very prospect, keeping his face from coloring only with supreme effort.

Though he was unsure what she was referring to in how an attempt at independence had been just "a big mistake." He thought about offering condolences, but it died in his throat. Instead, he watched her, studying for signs of discomfort or pain. He could be supportive, if nothing else, he decided. They were, in many ways, still strangers to one another after all, so he remained quiet, watching her at work. Chicken and pasta, nice and homey, he thought as he grinned with a shrug.

"Honorable discharge? It's just when your number's up in the service," he explained. "You're leaving with full honors, out of duty. Good job, here's our approval, and good luck." He chuckled softly. "I didn't really see a whole lot of combat, but I did a tour or two, just tried to do my best," he added as he accepted the food.

"As for beer...been known to dabble." He took his fork and knife, cutting the chicken and trying a mouthful, before also trying the pasta. It was good. Damn good in fact.

"Tastes great!" He said with a broad grin, before sipping the crisp beer. "believe me, you have no idea how good this really is. It's refreshing. I've been on my own for a long time," he confessed. "Some friend, but not exactly the cooking type and mostly...odd jobs here or there. It's hard and easy to people out of the service," he finished.
