Okay, I might be a complete and total dummy, but I figured I'd ask anyway. People are on here for SFW RPs as well as NSFW ones, right? Because I'd like to get one or two small group RPs going that don't involve sexy stuff.

There have been a number of people on here and on E looking specifically for that, yes. Often people just want to know they are dealing with an adult.

As the other wonderful staff said, BMR is just an adult RP site. Some might use that to write smut or NSFW RPs. Others don't have as much interest in that side of RP and focus far more or solely on the story of an RP! I am sure if you are clear with what you're looking for in any of your request threads, you'll find people jonesing for a good chance to write a quality story.
