Rai sighed heavily as he sat in the headquarters room for the 7 company. The young man was dressed just as any other shinigami would be dressed; in his all black robes and sash, though several things about his stood out. One, unlike most Shinigami he had no sword tucked in his sash. His bright red hair stuck out since he was dressed in all black; and about his neck and shoulders was a very long blue scarf with dragon like patterns all along the fabric. He waited quietly; playing with the ends of his scarf. It was something of a nervous habit of his and he was quite nervous. He had good reason to be; he was starting his first day as the new assistant captain of the 7th company. He pushed up his black, thick rimed glasses back up as his blue eyes looked about the room.

He met all the qualifications to be an assistant; but he didn’t think he was ready for a leadership positions. Further more he was told that he and his captain were going on a very important mission today. Figures there would be trouble right off the bat. He just hoped he could handle it. He had shown up early for the meeting with his new captain; to make a good impression; but perhaps he showed up to early. He looked at the lieutenant badge on his arm; a sign of his new rank. He still couldn’t believe he had been given this important position. He polished it a bit before he looked up to the door; his captain should be showing up soon.

It goes to show, Lin was one of those laid back individuals. So much so that he was resting in the room designated as his 'office' in the company 7 headquarters. A soft snore like murmur coming from his lips, he had heard about the assignment he was to go on, but it seemed the sheer fact that the place was in danger hadn't exactly geared him into doing anything more then rest as lazily as he usually did. Things would change when he 'woke' up fully, but for now he was lazily resting in a nearby chair, eyes closed as he snoozed. He had been excepting his knew lieutenant but the silence that took over the place had gotten to him. Resting in a sitting position, one could see the captain seemed in no way ready to rush out- even with is blade seen slung on his back, the tip of the hilt see against his short red hair that was encased in what seemed to be a white bandanna. Only a few choice bangs of his blood red hair could be seen as he rested on, ears attentive as he heard the other enter the place.

No he wouldn't react until it was necessary, his mind already alert and awake from the sudden steps of the other. It was a wonder that he could feign sleeping, but was just something he used to due a lot- at least when he wanted to go back so sleep. So it was what he normally did, the soft snoring stopping as he listened; ears twitching softly. Would the other approach him?
