In another timeline, in another world – Chaldea stood alone as a bastion for humanity, a last hope for the world after it was incinerated, and even furthermore after mankind was erased. A valiant master stood nearly alone against incomprehensible forces, with only a few chosen servants at his side. There is a story that tells of its fate, unwinding as we speak. It is a tale of virtue and sacrifice, of darkness and overcoming despair.

This Chaldea, this story – hews closely to that tale, yet, retains its own nature. This is not the story of a grand order, this is the story of a grand city. This is the story of a city that has withstood time immemorial. Mages might have been getting rarer over the years, but magecraft and magic still ran strong within the city. It was a bastion for their kind, and while non mages were allowed to live in the city as staff and assistants to the mages, it was clear that mages were considered a slight step above at the least. Of course, there was a reason for this.

Singularities.

These anomalies of time and space flared up into existence some time ago, with Chaldea being formed as a city to first safeguard humans from these distortions. No one knew what they were at first, only that they came, swallowed up parts of the world, and left – leaving devastation in their wake. It took brave mages to venture forth into one and come back alive to tell the tale of what they were. Singularities were portals to another period of time, almost always the past. Monsters, demons, and other supernatural forces were rampant, a clear sign that something had been going wrong in these distortions and that unless stopped at their root, they would continue to destroy the world bit by bit. Thankfully, mages had an answer to their problems.

The servant system was initially used by magekind as a locus for the Grail War, a now outdated and dangerous war where 7 mages summoned a servant each, and fought one another for the chance to obtain a wish from the holy grail. Chaldea’s energy source was the heart of the city, and thorugh its creation, Mages were able to summon servants to their beck and call as aids and assistants… And now, as their allies in fighting back against the singularities. Of course, it was still rather dangerous to attempt to do so alone, so mages often worked with the strongest servants they could.

This is the story of one Goh Kasuga.

Morning within the city happened as it always did, the buzzing of alarms, the steady brew of coffee for many, and preparing for the long day ahead. As Kasuga was just a spare hire for Chaldea, he was expected to work with other mages as an assistant and accomplice, including in singularities. Of course, he was not alone. His ever ready assistant, Mash Kyrelight was something of an anomaly herself. A human with the abilities of a servant. This made managing her mana and powers easier. Not much was known about her past – even to herself, other than that she was seemingly born with a connection to some sort of servant. All the same, she was a true and powerful ally, shielding the young Kasuga from monster and magic with a shield even taller than she was!

Dressed in the simple lab coat, stockings, and black shirt, Mash stood outside the door to Kasuga’s room with a slightly pouty expression on her lip. Kasuga may not have heard the alarm go off, or perhaps he had shut it off manually. Either way, the young but curvy woman took a deep sigh, and knocked loudly against the door to his room. “Senpai! It’s time to wake up!” Senpai, it was almost always what the lavender haired and eyes woman called Kasuga. It was a beautiful morning in Chaldea, the equivalent of spring, and despite the threat of looming singularities, people held hope for the future.

Goh rolled from his bed, the messy bed head of his unbecoming of a mage, if Olga saw him he bet she'd blow a blood vessel, it was clear Chaldea's assistant director Animusphere wasn't particularly fond of him. He was after all, a very low class bottom of the barrel kinda mage. Surely those with the blood of great mages past were more respected with their large family lineages dating back hundreds of thousands of eons ago.

Rising awake, Goh Kasuga age 21, he was born in America but had a lineage of sorts one supposed. It wasn't a strong mage lineage though, just one that had diluted and been part of branching bloodlines. "Mmppph." Goh rose from his sleep sounding like an absolute zombie, he was not a morning person, and the bright sun billowing through the opened door way was causing his forehead veins to pulse. Rising from his bed, the door would open on its own, it was likely a bit loose and he hadn't bothered locking it. When the door was opened and she could see the figure rising from his bed, he was well.. shirtless, and then as the covers pulled back even more, he was tall... like he had long legs and long arms, and they were in decent shape, he played a bit of ball in his college days before, that all went to hell in a handbasket.

"Oh, Mashu... right..." The blankets parting and he stood up obliviously he wasn't even wearing any boxers at the moment, as he rose to his feet. "Mmmm coffee..." He muttered like a zombie then walking dick swinging between his legs ever so visibly. To grab up the discarded clothing on the floor, he didn't exactly arrive with much to begin with. Goh stood around 6'2 was decently handsome probably if he wasn't so scowly in the morning, his frame suggesting he was a bit of a basketball player in his past time. Pale skin, red hair that was clearly dyed as one could see the color fading in places a bit. Grabbing up some old boxers off the floor, and then pulling on some pants, scowering the room with his eyes for the pesky socks. Still complety unaware he had so casually just flaunted himself in front of Mashu like that until his long sleeve black t-shirt and his white jacket were pulled over his shoulders clearly taking a dirvish of time at this point. Grabbing socks then shoes... "Oh should probably slather on some Deo..." he reached into a duffle bag and did that real quick. Before he rose to his feet and walked forward.

Goh Kasuga was thus dressed as he was ever going to be for the day, or until he stopped off and got some coffee..

"Morning Mash." He'd just seemingly mutter out of the blue. Blinking several times, as he was feeling his brain starting up finally as his slightly red colored eyes look to the small diminuitive teenager just outside his door. As he thus stood in front of her now. On the night stand by his bed was a strange looking alarm analog coo coo clock, it was unplugged... Da Vinci probably gave it to them because they had run out of alarm clocks when he got here. But the thing was so noisy he had to unplug it half way through the night and thus now here he was waking up probably an hour later then he intended. Goh rests his frame against the door frame looking beyond Mash seeing the bright sunny day ahead of them.

Chaldea City was made using some advanced level magic, and the archetecture borrowed from various parts of Europe and sort of had a multicultural style to it. Admittedly though he was in the lower side of the city, because he was poor, and not from a big fancy mage family who got mansions and the like on the upper streets. Still it wasn't so bad, there was almost never really a reason to not be able to walk from some place to the other.. and even if they needed too get somewhere there were convenient teleporter pads around the place so someone could just instantly move to a specified location, once they were given the specialized device mages were allowed they were like badges and cellphones but had other magical properties too.

Mash was not one to repeatedly knock on the door or even barge in, yet her simple knocking prior had a sense of urgency of its own. There was no pressing matter just yet, and the morning was early enough that Goh was able to get some extra rest, but they did have tasks for the day and it was quite likely that they would have some sort of magical project to work on, or the ever present threat of a singularity occurring. Of course they weren’t the only mages capable of handling them, but every hand on deck counted. With her boots lightly tapping against the floor of the building as she waited for Goh to wake up, she heard something going on in his room and gave a sigh of relief as the sounds of her senpai waking up. Taking a few steps away from the door, one could readily see the lavender haired woman’s more mousy personality at play, the woman seeking to look over her tablet as it ran off their various duties for the day… Which weren’t anything serious, so far. A briefing later on, but that seemed to be the only major event they had.

As the door slid open, Mash gave a quick nod to Goh, smiling afterwards. “You’re up a little late. Did you sleep well?” She asked, looking up to Goh – he was considerably taller than Mash; she was a petite woman, but not a slender one as the woman’s coat somewhat hid her more ample curves. With her tie resting between her breasts, she didn’t really seem to notice just how she came across, a mixture of brains yet her beauty was plain for all to see despite it being something she never thought on.

Outside, Chaldea was as sunny and bright looking as ever, it would be hard to tell that it was almost one of the last few cities on earth that were truly safe. People of all walks of life called it home, mostly welcome on its shining streets and numerous buildings. “We have a briefing later today with Olga Animusphere, but after that it seems they left the day free for us as far as training and keeping up with current events goes. But I think we should have breakfast first, right?” She asked a little cheerily, a soft smile on her face as she began to follow Goh with a slightly lagging pace. Despite being something of a minder at times to Goh, she often deferred to him and did truly see him as her superior.

Goh was nodding as she spoke. As he stretched and rolled his shoulders once he was out the door with her. “I slept awfully , air conditioner broke down half way through the night so I had to strip layers off periodically through the night not to sweat my balls off…”Goh was a bit of a crude guy some times and it contrasted vividly when you put him next to the prim and proper Olga who definitely looked down on him and anyone who wasn’t of any big mage family. But she was his boss technically and for the matters he didn’t really care much what was thought of him by anyone as long as they weren’t hurting anyone he cared about he’d take as much of anyone’s tongue lashings was required. Besides, he knew how to play with Olga and her superiority complex or any other big headed high on your own families lineage types.

“Yeah let’s make for Unlimited should be able to get a decent cup of coffee and some food.” As he walked he listens she followed behind him.

The small girl was indeed what he might call a short stack. Goh found her pleasing to be around, she was quiet and perhaps abit more of an introvert then the extroverted Goh. Honestly he’d never seen her talking to anyone besides him or Roman outside of actual work periods

But well, her mousy nature was a thing he took great notice of, and the fact she seemed very distant from her fellow Chaldeans save for him and a handful and a finger of others. Realizing he probably was outpacing her, it was hard not to kinda wanna look out for her. He had a sense she like him felt like an outsider at times. Or maybe he knew so little of her circumstances either way.

He slowed his stride his legs were longer then hers and he was known to be a pretty fast walker. Slowing his stride he walked side by side with her now. Well also he wanted to walk and watch her bosom bouncing as they walked, he really enjoyed just how springy those puppies looked stuffed in there.

Was she wearing a bra? Could she afford one to fit those? Questions he had but kept to himself. The walk into town from his place didn’t take long and the weather was nice. The city had a dome over it but the sun still got through.

He looked up as they walked seeing it over head hiding the public eyes from the many rings in the actual sky. “It’s a little eerie knowing this city doesn’t actually have a sky…” The dome around Chaldea City had a biome setting that changed based on time of day and season replication of the real thing but even to a mage like Goh who barely counted as a mage, he could very clearly tell it was different.

As they walked together, the faint sound of the tiniest sound of pawed feet was heard scampering up to them. Then suddenly leaps towards Mash. “Foo!” Said the ball of fluff… which looked like a dog that was about the size of a rabbit. Moving up her frame passing between the valley of Mash's breasts lucky adorable bastard. The small little beast cuddled along Mash's shoulders and then perched there, it was cute. "Aww there's our favorite little ball of fur..."

Goh reached over to stroke Fou's small frame a gentle murr coming from Fou followed, but then the clever little beasty looked to Mash, “Foo?”

The little beast seemed to look at her questioning you as if asking if he could come along to breakfast with them, Fou usually either hung out with Mashu or was freely roaming the city. Goh had no idea what sort of animal Fou was and no one else seemed willing to clarify but it really didn’t matter he was cute as a button and him sitting and curled about Mash’s shoulder gave her the most adorable look.
