The Temple of Lilith sat on a high hill, surrounded by flowers and trees. All along the road were statues carved in her honor, of a tall naked beauty. Once, the temple had been filled with lovely maidens who served the Goddess of Lust, inviting weary travelers into their welcome arms for the night.
Now, it lay empty. Most of the statues had been destroyed the last time his army came through. It made Lilith's blood boil at the destruction. He had started it all! She would finish it.
Her temple had now become her refuge, almost a prision. He didn't bother her here. No, he was too busy killing her people, destroying her loyal followers! Damn him!
She had once been more beautiful. Dark hair pulled up in braids and dresses made of the sheerest silks, only the best was worthy of her. She still tried to keep up appearances, but her power was starting to fade. He was winning.
What she wouldn't give to have the advantage, just once.
