Mafia Ranks​

President ;; the highest-ranked member of the organization, controls everything - the organization and its members, they are ruthless.
Vice President ;; second-in-command, responsible for ensuring that profits from criminal enterprises flow up to the president, generally oversees the captains and soldiers, takes control over the organization after the president's death.
Advisor / Consigliere ;; “right-hand man,” a counselor to the president and vp, third-ranked in the hierarchy, but does normally not have anyone working directly for them.

The President, VP, and advisor constitute the Administration.

Captain / Capo ;; “crew chief.", oversees as many soldiers as they can efficiently control, reports directly to the vp who permits them to perform criminal activities, runs day-to-day operations of their crew, their soldiers give part of their earnings to them and then they give a share to the vp, can also recommend a recruit to be allowed to join their crew as an associate.
Sergeant of Arms ;; "bodyguards", one gets appointed to the president and the one for the vp, are the best of the best bodyguards, are in charge of decisions and actions that concern the safety of the organization and its members, if there is a disagreement, the president makes the final decision.
Head Assassin ;; the best of the best hitmen, in charge of the other hitmen, in charge of training new hitmen and provides additional help of protection with the captains and sergeant of arms.
Head Trainer ;; the one in charge of training all new soldiers, teaches them offensive and defensive hand-to-hand & weapon combat techniques.
Soldiers ;; the lowest level members of the organization, must take an oath - the oath of silence - before they are considered a part of the group.

Associates​

Not an official member of the organization, but a member nonetheless. The rules of not affiliate with the enemy applies to them just as much as it does to official memebers.
They are normally business owners, but can be drivers, bodyguards, enforcers, errand boys/girls or money collectors. They must give at least 30% of their earnings to the Captains.

Informants ;; also known as spies, provides privileged information about a person or organization.
Hackers ;; computer geniuses who know how to gain unauthorized access to data that is beneficial for the mafia. (infiltrate networks/system, spreading malware, stealing/manipulate/destroy data, penetration tests, security systems, etc)
Hitmen ;; contract killers, hired and assigned to murder a targeted person or multiple people who are dictated as a threat to the mafia, involves an illegal agreement between the hitman/men and the mafia where they agree to kill the target in exchange for some sort of payment, hitmen makes it more difficult for law enforcement to connect murders to the mafia.
Arms dealers ;; specializes in illegal weapon trafficking and ammunition, which involves both importing (smuggling) and exporting (selling) contraband small arms and ammunition.
Drug dealers ;; sells drugs (of any type or quantity) illegally, prices are high and the mafia always get their cut.
Accountant ;; a certified bookkeeper who prepares financial documents like profit-and-loss statements, balance sheets, etc, performs book audits, prepare reports for tax purposes, and handle all the financial information that’s part of running the mafia businesses.
Bookkeeper ;; a person who handles direct records of all purchases and sales conducted by the organization, similar to an accountant, except they don't have certification and is assigned a more day to day essential work.
Lawyers ;; a crucial part of the mafia to keep members from living their lives behind bars and to ensure the police is kept off their tracks.
Medics ;; doctors and nurses who are certified or gaining certification in the medical field and can provide basic services like stitching up wounds, removing bullets, supplying medications, etc.

Lust ;; an intense desire, usually to engage in illegal or immoral sexual pleasures. It can also constitute a strong and unreasonable desire for wealth, fame or power.

Gluttony ;; refers to the overconsumption of food, drink, or anything to the point of waste.

Greed ;; an intense desire and passionate love for material wealth. It results from an irrational longing for what you don’t really need.

Sloth ;; laziness, avoidance of work, the desire to avoid responsibility.

Wrath ;; uncontrolled feelings of anger, rage or hatred, often fueled by an irrational drive to harm others.

Envy ;; the desire for possessions, happiness or talents/abilities of others, often because the other person doesn’t deserve it.

Pride ;; an excessive love for oneself, belief in one’s abilities or the desire to excel everyone else.​

INFORMATION ; Agent Veronica Sandoval was originally assigned to monitor the mafia, and spent years undercover as the wife of Dimitri's uncle, Anthony "Tony" Vitaly. "Vorecchie" as they affectionately called her, is a play on "orecchie", which means "ears" in Italian. She saw everything, heard everything, knew everything, and eventually came to realize that everything wasn't so bad after all. The drugs. The money. The violence. Maybe she was playing for the wrong side? The lifestyle was harder to walk away from than Veronica ever anticipated.

So she didn't walk away - she just found another way in. Following Tony's assassination, Veronica and a hell of a lot of blood money disappeared without a trace. She knew it was only a matter of time before her cover was blown, and the Vitaly's had her on every hitlist in town. Her former clan would come to their own conclusions about Vorecchie's betrayal(s), though. Now the Gambino's are testing her loyalty, but the more impossible their challenge - the harder Veronica tries. One day she would prove herself to them, but until then... They gave her a muzzle because the woman talks too much, and told her she better be the first one to take a bullet for any member of the Gambino family.

Kaegan specializes in electronics and driving, though is as witty with his spoken words as he is with typed code. To blend into many roles, he keeps his body in shape to not fit the stereotype of a desk hacker. This works well for more hands on infiltration.
Hacker Alias is: Ghost.

Ghost is only spoken of in the hacker community's dark web, due to his actions being classified by the US government due to their sensitive nature. Rumors on the dark web suggest that Ghost "liberated" a government asset A.I. and evaded authorities. The coverup was both to hide international embarrassment and their research.

INFORMATION
• Francis Hook was always enamored of police and detective work, religiously watching various CSI serials and 80s action movies based around “mega-cop” heroes. His drive and motive to ascend the ranks of the police department were further solidified when his older brother was slain as an innocent bystander during periods of mob violence in his hometown, compelling him to swear an oath of revenge on the heartless mobsters who conducted their business without an empathetic care in the world. Right out of high school he signed up for the police academy, earning top marks and distinction, and quickly proving himself to be a vigorous, compassionate, and relentless cop on a beat for many, many years, until passing the detective’s exam in his mid-twenties. For nine years he served with distinction, first in the arson and narcotics squads, before finally being made Sergeant, and then Lieutenant, of the RPD’s Organized Crime unit. His command consists of three other lower ranked detectives, who help him in profiling, recording, and building strong cases against the city’s top mafia figures.

Unfortunately, there are commissioners and city councilmembers with much greater sway than him, on the mob’s payrolls, that often shut down his investigations prematurely with red tape or outright political burying. But still, Hook is determined to achieve his end goal. His optimism and inscrutable honesty however gives him a veneer of naivety that prevents him from seeing how much of his own systems of justice are weighed against him.

TRAITS
• Marksmanship: Francis is a top shot, excelling in the American art of superb and safe gun handling and control. He is the master of non-fatal kneecap blow outs.
• Incorruptible: Bribes? On the take? Skimming off the top? Yeah he accepts those…if you want a fast track ticket right to jail. Immune to the sins of greed and money.
• Diligent: Every t is crossed, every i is dotted. It’ll be very difficult to get out on a mistrial or administrative error. Francis has a knack for remembering faces and/or names.

• By the book: Francis upholds the rule of law to the letter. That means there can be no deviation from the rulebook. And if a superior officer tells him to stand down, he must obey, even if that officer…is on the take. While the law is powerful, it moves slowly, and through very controlled filters, with so much red tape…
• Temperamental: Francis has anger issues. He despises criminality, to the point of being the bully to the bullies. He is easily provoked and can often be used against him. Since he is so by the book, if he oversteps, mishandles a suspect too harshly, breaks his own code of law, he is obliged to let the perp walk, because that is not how things are legally done, and he is foolishly honor-bound to that.
• Headstrong: Francis is predictable. If bread crumbs are purposefully laid out to lead him to a dead end, he will very likely take it, rushing straight forward with his righteous fury, before realizing he’s been led right into a brick wall, often too late to veer the ship back on the right course. Potentially an easy target for misinformation and dummy-ops by the criminals he pursues.

EXTRAS
• Basketball fanatic. Has his own net in the police station backlot, a good place to therapeutically play and relax his mind while working a case.
• Ambitions to break the back of the mob, similar to how the federal government at large struck at the mob in the 80s and 90s crackdown.
• At the same time, despises the federal government for both not going far enough, yet interfering in such obstructive ways with local state and municipal investigations, leading to mix-ups, failures, and cold trails.
• The two family Bosses and some of their top staff and captains are known to him, on his “perp board” but much of the lower ranking members and associates are still under his radar.

• Detective Bianca Delgado – Officer in his Organized Crime unit. He doesn’t know about her mob connections…yet.

INFORMATION
Seasoned war veteran. He's been fighting for more than half of his life, and he is not going to stop. Recruited for the army first, then retired due to too many wounds and being considered incapable of fighting almost 25 years ago (that really pissed him off). When he tried to resume his "normal" life, he had to take care of a daughter he did not even know he had, after her mother died from cancer. He did not run a paternity test, just took her and dealt with it. Somehow, she gave his life purpose and made him happy, for a while. He trained her like a soldier, was perhaps too harsh on her, so as soon as she turned 18 she left, and he never saw her again. He went through his connections to find a new purpose in life, trying to see if someone could give him a last chance of proving himself.
Now he makes a living out of training youngsters for Luca Gambino, but is really just looking for a chance to die and epic death. He assumes that he will not see his daughter again, unless she changes her mind about him, but given her inherited stubbornness, he has no hope of that ever happening.

• Pretty good at close combat, even with all his wounds.
• Usually sees through people's intentions straight away.
• Knows a great deal of intel related to the drug market from source to destination.

Negative

• Is relatively depressed since his daughter left and struggles to find meaning in life.
• Can be too stubborn in situations where he might not have the authority for it.
• Can't run too fast because of the limp, and can't calculate distances well because of the missing eye.

• LV - A pretty decent soldier. He has helped him out in the past, and also values his opinion highly. The man is tough as a rock and Anib sees him as a potential candidate to take up his position after he dies or retires.
• Luciano Gambino - Not his boss. Yes, he might be a Gambino, but Anib takes no orders from cowards and, in his mind, Luciano is weak and sneaky. However, he might have misjudged him. People he respects do speak highly of him, and he is probably the more intelligent of the brothers. However, not a good leader. Not yet.

Dimitri was born to a household where suitcases of money ran through the corridors, drugs were kept next to the cereal boxes and almost the same amount of corpses and prostitutes came and went out of the door each day. As a kid, it did not take long to understand what his family was into, but rather than question his situation or complain, he simply took it to be the norm. Did it affect his mental health? Perhaps not as much as people might think. He did not have such a bad childhood, being the son of who he was. In fact, he was quite happy. The life of a Vitaly seemed exciting.

Until his older sister, Alexandra, died. It was not a simple death. It was murder, and it was rape, and it was all the terrible things a 10 year old should have not seen through the hacked security cameras that went into his gaming computer. There was a terrible gang war following the incident, with many casualties, house moves, and a realisation that life as a Vitaly would require many sacrifices.

And a different way of doing things.

As he grew up, Dimitri realised that he would either have to engage in the dirty and bloody tactics which had surrounded the criminal world for years, or he would have to change the rules of the game. Others had tried before him, but none had succeeded. Of course, many were still set in their own ways, so they had to go. The raw muscle soldiers would be replaced, eventually, with professional assassins. The drug dealers, with lawyers. The spies with hackers. And most importantly, the control of the money would come before the fights, not after them. Simple, clean, and way more effective. His father, however, did not agree when he proposed this. The man was obsessed with getting revenge for his deceased daughter, even after such a bloody war. He was still planning on having the Vitaly family beat the Gambino family at their own game, and Dimitri knew that would lead nowhere.

Plus his father was a dick. And a well rounded idiot. Dimitri had him killed when it was time for him to take over, after confirming that he had the support he needed from his mother, lawyer, assassins and pretty much everyone else. It just came much sooner than most people expected. Legally speaking it was an accident, and most people in the Vitaly criminal organisation simply blamed the Gambinos. The job was perfect, and Dimitri only had to make sure that all the loose strings were cut. Uncle Tony had to die too, he was too close to Veronica and could not be trusted. Once the older part of the organisation was down, with the exception of his dear mother, Dimitri took change into his own hands.

It was exciting, for a while. Everyone knows is a criminal mastermind, but he has no motivation. No, Dimitri is simply unpredictable because he himself does not know what he will do the following day. When and idea comes to him, he acts on it. And his plans just work, because no one knows them. He can not be betrayed, because he does not trust anybody. Family? Family is a joke. He believes that to be respected and followed, he needs to give people more than what they want. So he only works with those whom he can buy, either with money, power, or some other reason.

The Vitaly family has been changing its direction lately. They will let the Gambinos take the drug market for a while... in exchange, Vitalys will drive their tentacles deep into the political parties, companies, courthouses, police, internet... They will take control of everything which controls the drug market, and soon enough, Gambinos will all be a joke. Unless tomorrow, Dimitri decides to change his mind. He does that quite often.


TRAITS ;

Positive:

• He advocates for less violence, more freedom for people who work for him and tends to be kind unless he's in a bad mood.
• He sees through most people's plans, and simply thinks ahead of everything.
• He is always right. People hate him for it, but he will say "I told you so" way too often for someone his age.

Negative:

• He can be childish sometimes, or at least seem childish to people who do not follow his reasoning.
• He takes too many risks. So far, they have paid off, but he is hard to trust.
• His mood might change all of a sudden. He can be incredibly annoying to deal with.

• Xinya Ren - She is closer to him than most people know. She is the person he trusts the most in the whole organisation, and that has been a conscious choice. They have more in common than what one would suspect.
• Bianca Delgado - Julius Vitaly hired her for dirty detective work, and blackmailed her to stay. Dimitri turned Bianca to his side by destroying all evidence against her and setting her "free", in exchange for her making his father's death look like an accident. He knows who her father is, but did not use that piece of information... yet.

EXTRAS ;

• Main goal is to take over the whole country. Or is it? Who knows, it might change tomorrow.
• He has shit on everyone. Knows the ropes of hacking since he was 10, and not many people are aware of the fact that the "secret" Vitaly phones which he hands out are all monitored by him or someone very close to him. The phone cameras and microphones are on 24/7.
• He hates the word "mafia". Disgusting. Vitaly crime corp sounds much better.

She might be in over her head, but at least she no longer feels like a damsel in distress. She hates conflict, drama, arguing and (real) fighting, but will do everything in her power to protect the people she cares about. She's loyal to her family, but dreams of a life of her own, a life of freedom. A life without guns, blood and crime.

It depends if they're going to be played or just mentioned in various settings. I would like to keep track of all characters who will have "a voice of their own" so to speak. So if you're going to roleplay with them - even if it's just a post or two - I would at least want to have them listed in the Character thread, so I can link to their profiles.

If not, I've made a short NPC list under "Other", but they will not be linked or have actual profiles, unless someone is going to play them. E.g. if someone is going to kill someone, it can't be one of OUR characters (not yet at least), so it'll be an NPC, but we'll write down their basic info - name, age, gender, loyalty - so people can use it in their own roleplays/character development.

INFORMATION
Gabriel is Julius's younger first cousin, he was born in Italy actually, in the city of Catania, but his parents brought him to the USA rather early on when he was 2 years old. Due to this he doesn't have any accent, but he does speak fluent Italian, along with a couple other languages. He grew up, despite being rather wealthy, in a fairly bad situation. His father was a member of the Esercito Italiano before they left the country and a corrupt, brute of a man, he often cheated on and beat his wife, even in front of his son at times. Gabriel's mother was no better, she was conniving and disloyal to her husband, as well as the family as a whole. When she was found out, she just never came home again. Gabriel was still a child at the time and not mature enough to truly realize why. His father was after another woman within a couple weeks.

Gabriel's schooling, his educational upbringing, was rather harsh as well. His father demanded the best and if he did not deliver, there was punishment. Gabriel learned quickly to deliver, to accel, eventually, he found out he liked being better than the other students in class. In his school life, he was rather popular, great at sports, extremely smart and a good looking young man, he had a lot of friends, though truly, not many of them actually knew him, even fewer got to see the darker side that was growing in the shadows of his mind. It was like night and day for him, the discrepancy between public and private life, it's something that carried over thoroughly into adulthood. When Gabriel turned 18, due to a heavy fascination with the American military, his father bullied him into joining the Army rather than allowing him a place in the family business.

It turned out that such a place was rather a good fit for Gabriel, he already had the discipline going in due to dad's cruelty and he had, due to his aggressive pursuit of football and baseball, a well worked physique already. He shined through his basic training, especially in close quarters combat. After the first four year stint, he re-enlisted. It was during this second term while he was serving in Afghanistan that his father passed away due to heart complications from alcoholism and drug use, cocaine. Gabriel found that he really didn't care, perhaps a sign of his own already warped mental state. He did not go so far as to decline the leave offered to him to attend the funeral however as he felt it would have been rude, improper to the rest of the family. After he returned to active duty he was selected for the special forces, the Green Berets.

Again, due to his, now rather sadistic, attitude about being the best, this was a thing Gabriel succeeded at. He passed all the tests he needed to pass with high marks, his highest again being close quarters combat. He's no slouch with firearms, but up close and personal has always been his favorite way to engage in a fight. Sadly he was not destined to have as shining a career in the armed forces as it seemed, or one at all actually. When Gabriel was 28 he was on leave with a few of his squad mates at a bar in Texas, the evening had dragged on and they were rather drunk. A fight started between Gabriel and a couple of the bars other patrons, he was hitting on one of their wives. It came to blows when Gabriel taunted the men and one of them swung on him. He went through them like they were dust and it took all three of his friends to pull him away from beating one of the men to death after he had crippled the other. He was jailed and prosecuted, though he appealed to his family to get himself out of it. The use of his mob connections got him a general discharge under honorable conditions. It sighted PTSD from his time in Afghanistan as the main reason. After this he went to work for the family as an enforcer and Assassin. Gabriel, due to combat experience and having killed people before, had no issue with the work, it was rather freeing to have less rules actually. Due to his brains, training, and his being immediate family, he climbed quickly to gain his current position. He is a well trusted member of the organization.

When his cousin Julius's daughter was murdered, he participated in the bloody conflict that followed it. He was of course, there for his family member as well and as a captain spent quite a bit of time cleaning up messy situations Julius would get into because of grief. Due to this he very well realized that the head of the family was slowly losing their mind because of the trauma. He saw Julius as dragging the family down and Gabriel reasoned that if allowed to continue making mistakes, it would have caused serious issues for the Vitalys. It was for this reason that Gabriel supported the move by Julius's son Dmitri to take over. Gabriel tends to keep very tight lipped about his actual opinions on the young man's attitudes and leadership strategies though.


TRAITS
(Positive are green, negative are orange)

• Diplomatic/Charming - Gabriel, publicly at least, is excellent with people. If he figures it'll advance the families goals, he's not above working with anyone, the Gambinos, smaller gangs, hackers, drug dealers, even law enforcement. He is good at making himself seem the lesser of the evils. He comes off as generous, professional and very reasonable.

• Good Looking - No bones about it, most people would describe Gabriel as rather striking in appearance. He stands at 6'3" and is muscular, in very good shape. He never allowed himself to lose that from the military. He has a bit of a boyish smile, mischievous but honest and eyes that would eat one alive. He also pulls off the rugged look well with his salt-n-pepper hair.

• Presence - When Gabriel enters a room, whether one is looking or not, they know it. He's not a wallflower and not timid to approach anyone no matter who they are. The confidence of a lion rolls from him like a tsunami, crushing the less bold under its weight. He's is old enough to know however, not to go so far as to be tactless, even though he does poke at being a bit teasingly brash.

• Special forces Training - Gabriel has a good understanding of tactics and knows how to lead a team to ambush, assault, and generally murder-fuck most groups of people he needs to kill. He, himself, being a close quarters combat specialist is very dangerous in any type of unarmed or small-arms fight.

• Adaptable - Changing with situations and the times is important, this is something most people don't understand. Beating your head against a wall will only get one a cracked skull. Gabriel recognizes that the family needs to change to fit the world because expecting the other way around isn't going to cut it. He can think outside the box when necessary.

• Inspires Loyalty - His people trust him, he is like one of the brothers to them. Gabriel isn't above rewarding his men with the best, if they succeed. He'll use family money to put someone's kid through college, then recruit them when they're through it. He'll pay for someone's sick daughters operation. He might just give someone a car for a good kill. It all pans out to his people know he'll take care of them if they serve well, or at least he's good at making them think that.

• Rock Solid - Whether it's due to some sort of mental condition like borderline psychopathy or just he took to his former training so well, Gabriel does not loose his cool under pressure, at least not outwardly. In a fight he's calm, in a business situation he's rational, when dealing with children he's the fun parent/uncle/whatever. It's hard to make him stagger mentally.

• Resilient - Due to being as stoic as he is physically or perhaps as mentally prepared for it as he is, Gabriel can take a punch well. He can also take a knife or a bullet and keep on functioning depending on /where/ they are inflicted. He'll die if you shoot him in the head or the heart of course, but in the thigh, in the arm, in the shoulder, a non-fatal wound in the chest, you'll still have a very active combatant to deal with. He knows how to shrug off bodily pain.

• Inspires Fear - Yes, he treats his men well, when they do good. It might not be the first time you fail, or the second, maybe he'll encourage you to do better but screw it up one too many times and see what piece of your body he takes from you. Gabriel despises habitual losers, deals with liabilities harshly and does not tolerate disloyalty. It's always good to stay on his best side, though even if one is on said side, there's always the slight feeling that you've got the big bad wolf standing next to you just waiting for a chance to devour you.

• Always a Catch - Dealing with Gabriel is like dealing with Lucifer. He might propose a really good deal for you, but he's getting something out of it and it's often something that even if you know what it is, you won't know the extent of it or his plan for it. He is very rarely anything close to altruistic and very rarely has anyone but his own and the Vitaly interests at heart. What's more, if you ask him directly what he's getting out of it, he'll probably give you a very convincing half-truth, or a complete and purposefully obvious lie depending on if he's feeling playful.

• Extravagant - He likes the finer things, he's very expensive. The best weapons, the highest quality liquor, a big house, designer suits, a private limo, nothing is off the table. Gabriel HAS to travel and exist in style. He is not exactly low profile.

• Raging Alcoholic - The man drinks like a fish that's been out of water for hours. He's rarely seen without a glass of whiskey in his hand even during the day. This can also, by varying degrees, lead him to become temperamental, or to make less than brilliant decisions at times.

• Partying - Whether it's going to a casino, taking the boys out to sex clubs, going to expensive restaurants, getting tickets to 49ers games, or even just hosting a wild bit of fun at his own rather large and secluded mansion, Gabriel tends to act more like he's in his 20s than his actual age. It wrecks hell on any personal life he attempts to have, or most meaningful relationships he does try for.

• His Daughters - Gabriel has twins that don't live with him. He never married their mother because of his lifestyle. It just didn't work. He is, however, always one to see his children and take care of them. Gabriel goes out of his way to make sure they're provided for, sometimes far out of his way. His girls might be the only people he'd never hurt for anything. He's extremely paranoid, for good reason, someone will use them to get at him. It's a distinct possibility. As shameful as it would be, his little girls are a weakness one could exploit. The young ladies are both 10 and still a bit too immature to understand what their father is about, but they're figuring it out slowly.

• Women - Older, middle aged, younger, if it's pretty it'll catch his eye. Gaberiel is too smart to be seduced at this age though, he does the seducing and he is not at all shy about it. He is also not careful, say what you will about it, he's not afraid to take what he wants, even from others. He'll go after someone's wife, daughter, sister, maid, etc. in a heartbeat if he likes them without seemingly a care. He's also not always one to take no for an answer but that generally doesn't get out because of just who he is, not status wise, but as a person.

• Twisted Fetish - Gabriel has a specific love for psychologically wrecking younger ladies. He likes to make them obsessed with him and the things he does to them, the abuse he puts them though. He is capable of and enjoys molding minds to need it, be it physical, emotional, or mental pain. This can fully culminate in him having stalkers or rather insane fangirls. They wouldn't quite dare show up at his workplace and disrupt his business, but they will follow him when he leaves, attempt to break into his house, call him 67 times throughout the day, leave him little 'presents' in places, like notes or panties, all that creepy shit. It /can/ even get dangerous in some cases. Gabriel acts unimpressed about it, but he really eats it up. He likes the depravity of knowing he drove someone nuts.

• Ruthless - Gabriel has few morals beyond his loyalty to the family, and of note once more, his loyalty is to THE FAMILY as a whole, not one specific person, as the case of Julius proves. Gabriel will not discount doing anything to achieve his goals. Depending on circumstance, he's just as likely to be the angel of mercy handing out toys for Christmas at a church as the angel of death burning it down with the people locked inside. It all depends on how he can use it, have it spun, to benefit himself and his own faction.

• Sadistic - To say he enjoys being a bastard is kind of an understatement, but when the darkness in his soul really gets to show itself he's riding a high that can rarely be matched by anything else. Gabriel isn't afraid to do the torturing of a snitch, or of an uncooperative prisoner, or anyone really, personally. He gets off on it, not sexually, but in a way that is truly and profoundly deep. Watching someone squirm in pain, watching the stones of hurt pile up, watching the spine of someone's willpower crack and shatter into pieces, it's a powerful storm that he revels and dances in. He's extremely careful to try and keep this on a tight leash, but sometimes the facade cracks and one can get a glimpse truly of the demon that resides inside.

• Pride - Gabriel acts sometimes as if nothing can hurt him, and truly, he's very used to being ahead of the game due to his past. He doesn't always give his enemies or competition the credit they deserve. This can on occasion lead to ground given in any contest be it more mundane or more serious. This is usually a one time deal as he learns quickly once he suffers a defeat, not to underestimate. Gabriel also never backs down from a physical altercation. It's not so simple as challenging him verbally to a fight, but if you manage to hit him, it's on and it's on till one party is ground into the dirt or till someone forces it to stop.

• Wrath - Words, threats, name calling and verbal abuse rarely gets him to lose his temper though there are some exceptions. He'll probably twist them around though and use them to get in someone's head or just let the talky stuff roll off completely. It's actions that can make him boil and when he does let go, it's severe. He will get careless with it too. He may kill someone directly in his own office, or a parking lot, or have their house burned down, probably with their family in it, etc. This won't be for any benefit to the Vitalys, it'll be strictly to satisfy his rage be it advantageous, or not. He won't care while he's seeing red.

• Gabriel is a huge football fan, he never misses a 49ers game if he can help it.
• He most often has at least two weapons on him or near him, likely a handgun and a knife, sometimes depending on the room he's in, more.
• It's easy to get bored, he doesn't like sitting around. It's not so much impatience as it is he just doesn't like not doing anything.

INFORMATION

Yuri has lived in Riverside for most of his adult life after moving from a small town in northern California. He runs a moderately successful pawnshop as a legal cover for his lucrative arms dealing racket. Yuri left his hometown because he didn't want to end up a logger like his father and there weren't many other opportunities there. At first he set up the pawnshop as a straight business but soon found that selling firearms to the local gangs netted him quite a bit more money. Yuri quickly found the risk in selling to known criminals to be worth the reward and began delving deeper into crime. Soon enough he found contacts who wanted to sell or otherwise get rid of illegal weapons and he began selling those to others at a mark up. As the profits increased he became more and more motivated to find more weapons to sell and now he's far too deep into things to see a way out. Not that he cares, by doing all of this he has seen more money than the last two generations of his family have ever seen and he doesn't intend on stopping.​

Positive
• Opportunistic - Yuri will jump at any chance to make money and usually has the wit or business sense to successfully follow through

• Paranoid Schemer - Yuri is aware that he runs a precarious business that could be shut down at any moment if someone talks or messes up, so he tends to make up back up plans and usually back up plans for those plans and so on.

• Gun Guru - Since Yuri has been selling weapons for many years now he's become quite knowledgeable about them, though he's not a true gunsmith he could probably fix most problems a gun may have.

Negative
• Shortsighted Greed - It's an undeniable fact that Yuri is entirely motivated by money in most of what he does, this can usually get him into trouble if there's enough money on the line to make him forget his better judgement.

• Guilty Hedonist - Yuri will never talk about it but knowing that he sells weapons to criminals has weighed on his conscience since he sold his first gun to a gangster. He often deals with this by reluctantly spending his money on things that could make him feel better like alcohol and women.

• Not a Fighter - Despite the fact that Yuri sells weapons, he is not personally talented in the art of violence. He'd lose in a straight up fight with most people and he does not take pain very well.
