I don't think this counts as World Building... but if I'm wrong I apologise.

I’m just curious to see what people’s opinions on Omegaverse in general are. I know it’s a relatively new thing that’s cropped up on some fanfiction writing sites… (I don’t think there are any published books with it).

Personally, I think it’s very intriguing. If done well it definitely offers a unique lifestyle to rp in since there are so many other factors that enter into play.

Just heard about it now due to your post. I like the idea of things being switched around, I have a RP set in a world where Females rule and men are submissive in a 1950's Housewife kind of way for example. But overall, I still prefer original ideas and my own twists rather than being restrained by an existing world/vision etc.

I'm not into it, but there are books of it. I found out about them while reading about the controversy over fanfic and copyright. Apparently whoever 'invented' omegaverse (as a fanfiction of some fandom I forget) tried to sue other authors publishing other omegaverse books because she created the rules of omegaverse. Again, I'm not into it, but I was intrigued by the concept of a fanfic of fanfic creating a legal case. But yeah. Omegaverse books. Probably go look on Amazon.

It's been around for a couple decades, at the very least. It actually has a whole genre of books released recently, too.

I'm pretty neutral on it. I don't go out of my way to engage and haven't written anything anything ABO in a long while, but I would if I found a story I liked enough.

It's something I have little interest in, and I've recently read a few yuri manga/manhwa/manhua with the ABO-dynamic going on, but have yet to try it in roleplaying-setting.

Someday I will try to actually write some plot-seed that centers around the omegaverse, but for now it's just a thing I am open to with a partner who is open to play against omegaverse-noob, especially since I know there are like hundred different ways to go about the little things involved in it and everyone seem to have their own preferences and takes on them.

i was introduced to it years ago by a former rp partner. knew nothing about it, so i just went with what she told me about the kink, the concepts she wanted to make use of and the ones she wanted to avoid and it was peachy. pretty interesting stuff. the a/b/o stuff was really just a background for your typical romance rp.

i know there's a lot of controversy because of how it reflects on certain irl issues that hit a bit too close to home, but it's not as if the AU itself is rigid and full of rules you need to follow.
