Setting
This setting is just something I enjoy thinking about. It is a thought experiment of what would the world be like if the Norse explorers had not only stayed in North America but exposed North, Central, and South America to Europe and its various plagues 500 years earlier.
The second part of this setting is the idea that Vinland becomes a new home to the Pagans of Northern Europe when the pressure to convert to Christianity is pushed by the local rulers. Would they be able to make their way in waves of colonization west to Vinland.
Timeline
Viking Era
This period is the start of this idea, with the landing of Norse explorers in North America and the first settlement starting to take shape. Instead of Leif Erikson making the trip from Greenland, his father Erik the Red makes after not being injured like he was in our timeline. This does two things for the scenario it means the party of Norse are Pagan and not Christian. This is a small detail but one I like to think of as an important one.
